You cannot update by SEUS or OTA with an unlocked bootloader.. Why don't u simply flash the latest ROM?
If u want SE updates.. You'll have to Relock bootloader (check Namaste guide thread for it) with stock ROM (2.3.2) .. root .. then update OTA (Again check the Namaste guide thread for this too)
Note: Root does not need unlocked bootloader..

thanks Bro.
i have relock the bootloader.
and update into 2.3.3....
if i want to root, then i have to downgrade to 2.3.2 then update it into 2.3.3?

it isn't possible to root .62 with any method.
if you do not want to downgrade to .42 the only method is to flash .62 img already rooted.

is your bootloader unlocked. it must be unlocked to flash .62 img already rooted...

Yes, .62 can be rooted if bootloader unlocked.
Don't downgrade, as it is not needed.
Find recoveryARC.img file and go into fastboot mode and boot recovery.
Don't flash it! Just boot it!
Then flash superuser zip package and reboot.
That's it.
Search for more detailed guide with exact commands and links.
Be careful!

I will correct you.
Its possible to root .62 FW with unlocked bootloader WITHOUT installing pre-rooted roms
Just unlock, install CWM, install root via CWM.

Im having custom kernal and root...
Should I have to remove them aswell...
Thanx for replying.....
Geez people, you should research before this.
Here's a thread in the General section with How to install and root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1683957
That's for Stock ROM and Kernel.
If you wish, you can flash the ROM, then use fastboot to install a custom Kernel from the development thread which most likely will have CWM that allows you to flash RootXperia.zip and that's about it.
Unlocked bootloader makes everything easier.

I recomend u flash a stock GB firmware first, for example firmware .42, and then u relock the bootloder. After that, update, and the unlock the bootloader again

If you have an unlocked bootloader, why not just flash the 4.0.4 ICS using Flashtool? There's no point in locking your bootloader, then updating and again unlocking it.
Just flashing the .ftf is much simpler and doesn't waste your time.

Once i tried to update my arc from GB to ICS 4.0.4 i had unlocked bootloader,so i had to lock the bootloader and then update via PC Compenion.Don't use those just use FlashTool for flashing FW and find 4.1.b.0.587 .tft file so you can flash it with FlahsTool.Try googleing for FlashTool for Xperia Arc and follow the tutorial, you'll get it.Good luck.Cheers

Bootloader has nothing to do with rooting, it will not affect it.
And you don't have to unroot.

Must flash 0.42 firmware with flashtool and then make a root, and update by OTA (over the air) to 0.62.
Do not update in PC Companion !!! Use OTA update.

Please go through all the posts (only 2 pages contains important links) in the thread below. The thread is about similar question like you.
Read all the instructions carefully and know advantages and disadvantages of rooting and unlocking bootloader.
Unlocking bootloader will void your warranty. (You can also relock your bootloader but you will lose DRM keys). All the best. :good:

If you were smart enough to unlock bootloader, you should know how to lock it. You should also do some reading, so you knew unlocking bootloader "blocks" OTA updates.

What You Actually Need To Do Is,
1. Unroot The Device.
2. Lock Bootloader
3. Following Steps 1-2 Will Allow You to Download OTA Updates From PCC.
If You are unsure If your phone is in the same condition as it was before you started to root and unlock it.
Best Thing To Do Will Be.
1. Use FLASHTOOL to FLASH Sony Generic ftf. File .45
2. Relock Bootloader by Using Relock ftf. --> http://j.mp/xps_relock
3 Flash Your Phone Completing Both Steps.
4. You should receive .55 Update if Everything Went Fine. ( It means you are getting OTA)
And You Are Ready for JB now!!
