Which is best to return to stock? Im selling my s3 and I need to get it back to stock. Is kies better than Odin since it's an official software from Samsung than Odin?

Awesome, thank you!
After flashing stock via Odin, you will likely have to boot into stock recovery, wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache. Reboot.

I have a bit of a noob question here. I'm going to odin back to stock as well as factory reset, now if i wanted to use Darkside wipe (assuming its not overkill and unnecessary) would I do that before I odin? Ie launch CWM, run darkside wipe, then go into download and odin?
thanks in advance.

That is the best method to assure you have a clean install. Be aware though, titanium won't work. You will have to root your phone again.

So I'm updating my firmware by flashing to the latest stock rom with Odin, then flashed CWM with odin, and now I'm trying to restore a NAND backup to get back to my previous CM rom and I'm stuck with a MD5 mismatch. So how do I fix this, keeping in mind that I'm now back on stock rom which just hangs on the samsung screen at boot. Funny, everyone in the dev section made this process sound painfully simple.

It is simple, just reboot into recovery and do a "Factory Reset" & wipe cache and dalvik but don't wipe system or data then reboot the phone.
99% of the time it always works. If you are in the 1% and it still does not work your best bet is to ODIN flash the new stock-rooted
Tmobile T999 v4.1.2 Jellybean rom. That works 100% of the time for everyone.

I will give that a shot, but I assumed having come off a fresh Odin flash to stock, the cache and dalvik would have been wiped already and it basically was just "factory reset" with the flash. Here goes...

Are you referring to the root66 one? Cuz I've been trying to download it already, but the hosting site appears to be down.

Thank you very much sir. Factory resetting as you said got me into the stock rom, and from there I deleted the contents of the nandroid.md5 file which allowed me to restore the backup and now I'm back in CM.
Cheers to you.

Please do not make multiple threads asking the same question. This belongs in the q and a where you asked it first.
Glad the problem is fixed!

It's because you formatted your system and it has nothing to boot into now. A factory data reset should fix it.

If the system has been wiped a factory reset wont fix it. Its not like a factory reset re-installs what has been wiped

If you have a cwm/twrp flashable rom on your internal/external sdcard or if you have
a nandroid back and if you still have access to get into CWM/TWRP recovery then
why not simply restore a backup or flash a rom?
If you don't have any backups or cwm/twrp flashable zip file roms in your phone
then simply remove the external sdcard and put it into an adaptor and plug it into
your computer, download a cwm/twrp flashable rom and copy it to the sdcard.
Then put the sdcard back in the phone, go into cwm/twrp recovery and flash it.
If you cannot get into cwm/twrp recovery for some god knows what reason you will need
to Odin flash the stock rom in download mode to get the phone running properly again.
Good luck with it!

Did you use Odin to load stock firmware? I tried that but it didn't work. I think I need a pit file. Did you have one?

Trying that as i type. Performed a wipe and reboot'd to DL mode for a stock odin flash. Not optimistic though
any reason why this WOULDNT work?
EDIT: No luck. Went past the samsung screen initially to android stock recovery to finish flash...once it rebooted back to stuck at samsung screen!
EDIT: SOLVED. checked Phone EFS Clear in ODIN...then flash stock. BREEZE
please help...
Several days ago I installed Clean Master for my SM-T705, after then I used standard clean for my SM-T705.
But after that I couldn't use my OTG on it, before I installed Clean Master its worked properly, so I thought that its own Samsung apk disabled or force to disabled.
So anyone can tell me what apk from its own Samsung which must be run so I can use my OTG again?
Thanks anyway

Just flash your stock firmware manually with Odin. Should be no-wipe, but I'd recommend to at least wipe cache.

is there any another way enable the original Samsung apk or fix Samsung service apk indeed?
why? because when I connect to my laptop, its couldn't auto detect my tab, so Odin3 either Kies didn't detected it properly
I would try a factory reset then since you can't connect to your PC. And if a factory reset doesn't work if its still under warranty, take it back is your last hope.

Can anyone let me know the best way I can locate the cause of my note 2 freezing up occasionally so I know what I need to do to remedy it?
Try going into recovery and wiping the cache and Dalvik cache
Don't do a system wipe.

Hey GR,
I did attempt this previously see if this helps but no luck :-/
Any other suggestions?
Factory reset
or
You could try and re-flash stock ROM with ODIN.

I was hoping Factory Reset wasn't gonna be needed if I can locate the culprit (If its an app that is).
I have got it rooted so I can flash the rom I have on it again or a different one. I currently have Ditto Note 3 installed v3.2.1
I am thinking you are about to experience sudden death, where the memory fails. It's what happened to mine before it died
But try re-flashing first. Use latest stock for your phone. Check Sammobile for the latest

Oh I hope its not a memory failure :-/
I'll try a re-flash first after backing up and go from there.
Thanks GR.
