I use the Nokia qi charger with nice but it's slow as crap because it's only 750 mah output instead of the standard 1.75A output. This is with using the flip folio case.

I see you have the AT&T version. Does it work with the regular backplate on? I haven't been able to find a clear answer if it does or not.

Yes the AT&T back plate has the conductor on it. I've seen it in videos. You can also pull out the pad carefully from the quickcover and stick it to the standard cover in the correct place and that gives your wireless charging.

Does it charge as fast as our 1.8 amp wall plugs?
I'm using the Nexus 4 Wireless Orb. Kinda pricey @ $70 (after tax & shipping) directly from Google (or from Amazon) but it was worth it to me because it's angled so I can see the LED notification while still laying in bed as it's on my night stand. Also, since it's the wireless charging standard (Qi) to go by for awhile I figured I'll be able to use it with the next few phones after the OG Pro. If you have a non-slippery case (I've got a TPU one) then it should stay in place. However, I've heard otherwise based on reviews on Amazon & in the Nexus 4 forums with a slippery case (Incipio for example) or using the stock backplate (or OEM flip cover). Google states it'll take 4-hours (output on the Orb is 1.0-amp) to fully charge a Nexus 4 & it takes ~4 - 4.5-hours to fully charge an OG Pro. Charging time's insanely slow but I figured only time I'll be using the Orb is when I'm sleeping so I don't mind the extra charging time.
I also use the LG Electronics WCP-300 Wireless Charging Pad. In fact, I bought 3 of them! I keep one at work and two at home. They work really well and the top is made of soft rubber, which is pretty cool. I bought them from Amazon for $49.99 each and now I wish I had known that Verizon.com had them for $40.00...oh well.
I'm using the LG WCP-300 and contrary to some previous posts, the AT&T OG Pro (E980) does wirelessly charge with the standard back. The flip/quick cover will also charge but I don't like those covers. (Got one for free from AT&T for pre-ordering the OG Pro but I seriously doubt I will ever use it.)

I am using the LG model WCP-300. Works great. But I have noticed that the charging light on the pad continues to blink even after the percentage is at 100. I don't get the fully charged indicator in the status bar either. When I check the battery status in the phone settings it says that the battery is at 100 % also. Strange. Does anyone else have this issue?

When the motor activates and moves the charging coil, do you see lights moving on the pad's surface, or are the lights that are shown in the ads just to make you realize that something is moving unseen, underneath the surface?
Any idea how much juice this thing puts out? Does it charge faster, slower or the same as the G Pro's plug-in charger?
When you put two phones on the pad, I realize it will charge the first one that was placed, but will it automatically then move on to the second phone, or do you first have to switch it into some special mode to alert the charger that there will be a second phone to charge after the first one is completed?
On a slightly different tack....Don't know if it's any good, or if it's even out yet (I first saw it on Kickstarter), but TYLT has a pretty cool looking QI charger with 3 coils inside that supposedly allows you to place the phone on the upright, angled, stand in either portrait or landscape orientation, without the need to align coils to ensure that it charges.
All their products look cool, but I have no idea how they perform in comparison to other manufacturer's goods.

Verizon now has stock of the LG wireless charging pad for $69.99. Unfortunately they are out of stock of the Inductive charging door to work with the pad. Door is priced at $39.99 when available though.

Maybe a dollar's worth of material, but add design costs, testing, employees, shipping, retail employees, and enough markup to make it worth bringing to market and the price Isn't unreasonable.

Yes, it would but it would take a bit of modding on the Tbolt in order for it to work. Its been done on the Evo.

The stock battery door looks to me like it may have a coil built into it. Granted I have never seen a door with a coil before, but it looks like there is some kind of grid pattern on the inside of it, and it also has the contacts that electrically attach the door to the phone. I suppose it could be a wifi antenna or LTE antenna also. Anyone know what this is?

pull the back off your phone. there are two contacts that touch the back door those are for signal boost of your phone.
Then just above the batter are these 4 pins that look like :: , from my understanding those are going to be the pins that an induction charger back touches to charge the phone through induction.

But, from what I have read here, there are two other contacts that are made for the inductive charging door. So... instead of buy the charging door from verizon, you can make one like they did in the evo post, except you won't have to open the actual phone up, you can just route the wire to make contact at those charging points.

There are multiple antennae according to these pics from FCC.
http://www.wirelessgoodness.com/2011/04/11/the-htc-thunderbolt-gets-an-fcc-teardown/
When looking at the inside of the cover the one to the right is LTE+EVDO, left is GPS, and bottom is CDMA.
EDIT: Sorry, the one on the bottom isn't on the battery door, it's actually the bottom. Below the kickstand.
Maybe I'm an idiot but is it possible to power on your phone with the cover off?
give it a try....what can it hurt??? lol
yeah phone works fine..wifi works fine...all u lose is 3g and 4g data
Hm, I don't know if I can get by the fact the phone needs to be lined up right for it to charge. I routinely use my phone while it's charging, so having it lay there seems....like I'm not their intended market.
I'd imagine we're not too far off from having wireless charging that has some sort of radius around it. Man, I can't wait for that. Wires drive me mental.
I don't think our door supports inductive charging. When you go to www.Verizonwireless.com in the search bar type in inductive charging and the first query will populate the battery door. Haven't found the charging pad on their website but calling in to customer service will allow you to order one. Tell them you want LG charging pad as that the one that is required.

I just got an S3, and was excited about the ability to use wireless charging. While looking for QI gear on eBay, I ironically stumbled across an item that will add that very same feature on my old SII, without any permanent hardware mod needed.
The item in question is this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/200963522572?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
It's basically a QI charging inlay thing that has a very tiny microUSB connector, allowing you to connect it to essentially anything that charges via microUSB. I bought one just to try it out, and sure enough, it works like a charm with my old S II. I have a cheap (but great) TPU case on my S II, and the QI inlay fit absolutely perfectly between the case and the phone's actual back cover.
I used the SII for more than a year and a half, and I frankly hope that this was just invented a few weeks ago, as I hate to think that wireless charging for my S II was $16 away all that time >.<
Hey, *thanks* so much for this, it is just about exactly what i was looking for (and not able to track down on the net). Much appreciated and can't wait to try it out on my SGS2!

With "Android Tuner Free" you can see the incoming mAh when charging (at battery stats).
With standard wallcharger from samsung I get ~640mAh
Does anybody got the incoming mAh stats about wireless charging?
Anyway, I think cable is better because you can move and use your phone.

It says PlayStore. Gotta keep an eye there....
As for me, the good Qi charger for the tablets should be bigger than tablet, have at least 5 or 6 charging coils and detectors (to start charging regardless how do you put a device), be quiet, no bright annoying lights, flat and stable enough for the night stand. And of course it should cost a reasonable price - definitely not a $80-100 but about $25-30 (hey, it's not a "super-duper high tech"; all parts will cost just a few bucks in mass production).
I still can't find anything like described above on a market
The original Nexus 7 had a tablet stand, and charging pins built in. I like the idea of wireless charging, but why doesn't Google offer a stand like the original, with wireless charging included?
If u use a cover u can not charge with the dock.
Wireless is easier as u just place the tablet on the qi pad with its cover.
Its now in stock 50 bucks.

Yes -- provided you get USB audio to work with a second-gen N7 in the first place. Wireless charging doesn't normally interfere with USB Audio.
Using stock 4.3 firmware on the N7.2, I've only been able to use external DACs with USB Audio Recorder Pro.
Who is the manufacturer of the new Google branded charger? Is it LG?
I ask because I have the N7 in the official Google case with the flip cover. I also have a few wireless chargers and the WCP-300 is the only charger that won't work through the back of the case.
And I agree with the comments about how well the Tylt charger works, even with the cover folded behind!
I want to ask is how's the official Nexus wireless charger? Does it keep the phone charged up at 100% even after it's fully charged? Is the Play Store the only place to buy the wireless charger? Any negatives about the wireless charger that I should know about?

It's good imo. Yes it does, none of that discharge, charge again crap. I got my charger from amazon. I wouldn't say it's a huge negative per say, but on mine the glass isn't fully flush (and I mean you would not notice unless you put it to your eye and REALLY look). But still works fine so meh.
I got the official nexus charger and official nexus 5 case from google. Works great. Stays fully charged and its great when going to bed and just setting my phone on the nightstand to charge. Less chance for damaging micro usb also. The wireless charger and unlocked boot loader were what made me make the switch from my s4.

As for the Official Wireless charger. I love it about 10 times more than all of the generics unmoddified. Just love coming home and putting my charger on the pad until it 'locks' in place. It tops off and is nice build quality. Even the ones that are stand base I couldn't get right that easily.

My only complaint about it is that it can be tough to get the device lined up to charge if you have a case on the phone. Without a case it lines up pretty easily because of the magnets, but with a case on (even a thin TPU case) you have to make sure you're positioning it correctly because the magnets barely grab it.
it even works with my cruzerlite bumper.
this even has the advantage, that the magnetic effect isnt that strong so that it doesnt always almost rip off the charger of my desk
Love mine. I barely use the stock charger anymore. It's so easy to grab the phone on the go especially for a phone call.

Mine works great. It keeps the 100% charge, no problem. You can get them from Amazon too, that's where I got mine. Mine is also mounted vertically on the side of my nightstand and has stayed in place perfectly now for about a month. Honestly, when I tug at the charger plate, I don't think it'll be easy to remove...

I tested it out this morning and while the Palm Pre charger does put the watch into dock mode it does not actually charge the watch. I'm guessing there is some kind of magnet inside of the Palm charger that triggers dock mode. The charging element in the Palm charger is different than QI so I don't think it is physically possible for it to charge the 360 or any other QI device.
Too bad - My palm pre charge does not trigger dock mode or charging.
Doesn't work for me
My pre charger puts the phone into charge mode but instead the numbers go down.
So it kicks off the charging mode but because the screen is on it quickly kills the battery. Oh well.
