[Q] KFHD8.9 boots directly into TWRP - 8.9" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello All
I jut got a KFHD 8.9 and rooted it without any problems, it was with base firmware 8.13.
After rooting I downloaded and completed all steps in the installation of TWRP, and it all went well.
When it boots I see the orange fire then the blue fire, and it finally just boots directly into the recovery mode (TWRP interface)
My problem is, that I hadn't copied new ROM and GoogleApp to the SDcard and now I cant see the device and can't get to system menu.
Please give me some advise.
UPDATE: I used fastboot and returned to my backup boot and recovery files, all worked fine, and I was back with stock, I added the ROM file and GooglePlay to SD wiped and installed, now it is working fine.

Click to collapse
Yeah in twrp settings when you go to restore set it to skip md5 check and signature verification. Also go to mount and make sure there are no checks I'm the boxes of system and data if there are unchecked them and try a reboot as for fff when you get it running use kfu to send that to your kindle kinda hard to access recovery without it
Edit: a couple of side notes did you wipe? What did you wipe? What rom did you use? If it was a rom with the gapps pre baked in IMO when the gapps are added in there are often mounting issues . If gapps were not added did you flash the proper gapps?
i use cwm recovery because that was what ive always used.. i can connect my kindle to computer an kfu recognizes it online but it freezes whenever i try to use twrp recovery or cliclk fff any backdoor way of switching recoveries without using kfu?
Make sure your driver is android adb composite interface if it says android adb interface this driver is incorrect . Twrp really is the standard for the kindle. If your having trouble booting to the system then mount your sdcard transfer this bootloader to your card unmount and flash it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1632375 only download it from this link. Then transfer this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1390773 and the gingerbread gapps provided on this page to your sdcard wipe factory reset wipe cache wipe dalvik wipe system flash rom flash gapps reboot system if prompted . Should boot fine for you then the rest can get sorted out when you have a running system use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500935 to replace cwmr with twrp when you reach that point good luck
Thank you worked like a charm

Urgent help needed! Stuck in TWRP 2.2 while using kindle fire utility

Hey guys, trying to root this kindle for my friend. Ive two so far. I dunno what happened but I'm stuck in TWRP. I was using kindle fire utility 0.9.6 did option 2 to install super user, then went to option 3 and it froze up so I powered on and off, now the fire is booting into this TWRP and I have no idea how to install the hellfile rom that I want. the ROM is not on the sd card and I can't get it to mount so I can view it on my computer when plugged in.
i need help!!!
UPDATE*
I just ran # 4 while rebooting and it seemed to install CWR..now I'm back to what appears to be stock kindle software. wtfff is going on
you definately do not want cwmr...
Did the ROM maybe go to a download folder? Once you get into twrp do a backup first thing then factory wipe, wipe(not format) cache and dalvik. Then hit install and browse the files/folders until you find your ROM and install. Reboot system. And yeah...dump cwm.
And you should really try installing su thru the recovery and try your hand at adb..

[Q] Accidentally erased my Kindle Fire (1st Gen) OS

Hi guys, so I was going to give my old KF to my nephew as a gift. It was rooted, with TWRP and had CM10. So i tried to restore it to its original state (unrooted with the stock KF ROM). After I flashed it back to the original OS, I wiped the cache, the dalvik and the system using TWRP and accidentally deleted my OS. Now, when i boot it, it remains at the KF logo (white and orange so it means it has the stock bootloader). I also cant access TWRP ( i guess i've deleted FFF as well ). i would be so greatful if anyone could help me. i'm also a noob so if you could please tell me step by step on how to fix my KF.
also
-im not from the US so I dont have the factory cable
-when i try to use the KFU, it says ADB Status: Online ; Boot Status: Unknown
-when i try to install TWRP or FFF via KFU, it stops at "waiting for device"
Thank you!
the only way i found it, its making a factory cable
it happens the same thing to me, and i dont live in us i make one. its easy, see a few tutos and make, when you have one conect and install twrp, then, mount and copy a rom or if you have one restore its better

[Q] Kindle Fire 1st Generation- Only TWRP Access

Alright, so awhile ago I rooted my KF (1st generation) and installed the TWRP Recovery and KFU. I then changed my ROM to the Cyanogen Mod of an unknown version (I was new) and of course, did not backup anything. After my Cyanogen started acting weird, I decided to wipe EVERYTHING from the KF through TWRP. Now, if I boot normally, I stay at the TWRP booting screen (it says kindle fire and "booting..."). I can also access recovery mode (by pressing the power button) but I have no idea what to do with it. The TWRP Version is v2.5.0.0. I'd like to just go back the stock version of the KF if possible.
Simple just download any rom OTER THAN A KITKAT ROM or CM11. Mount usb storage in twrp and transfer the files and flash

Merely opening TWRP Recovery kills my CM12.1 installation

What exactly does TWRP recovery do as part of its start-up routine? Because whatever it does just broke my phone's ability to boot successfully. I have a Sprint Note II (SPH-L900) running CM12.1.
Backstory: My phone was working fine with CM12.1 and Clockwork Recovery installed, except that I discovered today that I couldn't launch the default Android "Messaging" app. I found a post elsewhere on XDA that suggested deleting the files mmssms.db and mmssms.db-journal from the /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/ directory. My phone was not rooted, so I couldn't do this with a userspace file manager, and CWM Recovery doesn't have a file manager, but TWRP does. So I rebooted to bootloader, flashed TWRP, rebooted to TWRP, and used its File Manager to add ".old" to the end of the filenames of the two files just mentioned. Then I rebooted the phone.
Very unpleasant surprise: The CM boot animation just went on forever. Repeated attempts, even after flashing back to CWM recovery, yield the same result: the phone no longer boots successfully. This is exactly the same problem that I struggled with for several days recently while trying to install CM12.1 using TWRP recovery. (It never worked. I could only get it to work by flashing it with CWM recovery.)
It appears that TWRP does something as a routine part of its normal startup or shutdown that is breaking my CM12.1 installation. But what could that be? And how can I undo or fix it?
