Working on my HTC One internationnal with french language system.
Crashing when I want enter in settings and don't work with screen is off, but that apk is appreciate. :good:
I can confirm it works on my At&t HTC One running the Viper 2.1 ROM.....
I used it to:
Place a call
Send a text
Turn on Wi-fi
Turn off Wi-fi
Turn on Bluetooth
Turn off Bluetooth
The animation doesn't work well (that shows it's picking up your voice when requesting something), but it does register your voice pretty well.
Gonna try it later with my BT ear piece to see if I can get it to be the default "voice" app when I push the button on my ear piece, because the stock HTC One voice dialer stinks.
Just going to ask if anyone has had any issues with S-Voice causing Wifi not to work?
I really like S-Voice and have used it on every custom HTC One ROM I've had. I mainly use it with my bluetooth headset to make calls.... But after using it, I have issues connecting to my home Wifi. I can't say for sure it's S-Voice, but I've tried about 5 different ROMS in the past 3 months and have had wifi issues on every ROM after a short time, and this is the only app that has been consistent on all 5 ROMs, so I was wondering if anyone else has had wifi issues?
By issues, what I mean: It shows I'm connected, but doesn't work. The only way I've found to fix the issues is to dirty flash the ROM or wipe and fresh install.
I cannot get this to recognize my voice? Any more instructions? Thanks

Well, I was having the notorious "voice to text" issue with gingerbread. Not the Google Search issue. That was resolved by uninstalling then reinstalling the app.
I just flashed this mod from the MikMik.com forum. The " Stock_v2.3_HTC_IME_Revert-signed.zip". It instantly fixed the issue and haven't had any problems since. Both on my phone and my wife's.
Just thought I would share this for those of you that have had the same problems as me.

1. Boot into recovery.
2. Wiped cache & dalvik/cache.
3. Flashed zip from sdcard.
Put www in front of the link.

Thanks for the prompt response.....let me ask you...I've read that checking "Personalized Recongnition" in voice input settings will help or fix....have you tried that before...or know....???
I tried everything I could think of. As mentioned in the OP, the voice to text was an independent issue from the Google Search issue. So none of the Google Search solutions work for this problem.
I even unistalled then re-installed the voice search.apk. I noticed that the only time it didn't work was when I was using the keyboard then pressed the voice button. That is what gave me the idea of using a keyboard mod.

Thanks again for the response, advice and tips....I did download and flash the mod....and sorry to say no real difference...other than my only keyboard choice now is the sywipe....which is OK...it works perfectly at home, office and modest sound, but did not work today in the car....not at all...did work when I stopped, like at a light....my main use of the voice to text was "texting or emailing while driving"...ha-ha....apparently I shouldn't do that anyway.....I suppose a "real" fix like a modified mod will come along...by the way I have a Sprint EVO that's rooted with the latest Fresh Rom...hardware version 0003...

I may point out....to give light on this....muted mic background noise theory......I have a blueAnt bluetooth headset with "noise cancellation high" as an option.....in the car, the voice to text works OK with my blueant on....meaning...the"mic" doesn't hear the background noise....the new fancy bluetooth ear pieces work pretty good...
Hi
I've just bought bluetooth headset and I thought that it would be great to have who is calling announced by the system with the use o TTS or something.
Once I have this functionality on my rom with the use of ivona, but it was gingerbread rom.
On the market I found some apps to make my phone speak, but none of them work with MIUI? All test and samples works, all permisions are good, but I still dont hear any voice when someone is calling.
Has anyone of You tried such a thing? Or use some working solution? I've tried call announcer, caller id.
have a nice day

I have been searching everywhere and have not found a solution to this, so I apologize if I missed it somewhere. As I've learned and have read from others, S-Voice is crap! Google Now is much MUCH better at voice recognition, particularly with names. The problem is, over bluetooth, my voice commands are only picked up by S-Voice. Google Now gets stuck at the "Initializing" then says "Didn't catch that" and closes. I've gotten it to intermittently work with Utter!, but I can't rely on that. Google Now works great over headphones or from the phone itself. It's just over Bluetooth when it doesn't work. After researching I'm almost convinced Samsung (or Vlingo) set it up that way; it's as if the mic is disabled with any app other than S-Voice. My question is, has anyone figured out how to get Google Now, or any other voice app for that matter, to be recognized over bluetooth?
I'm running stock JB with root (fyi, this was going on before I rooted). I know it'll probably work just fine if I flashed CM10, but I actually like the setup I have.
Edit: After looking more, I found this thread. I tested out turning off the "Media Audio" and Google Now works, but in further investigating when I click the button on my bluetooth, it's the voice dialer that pops up and that is what doesn't work, not Google Now. I can't see, to figure out how to get Google Now to show up and not voice dialer.
Edit 2: I forgot to mention I'm using a Motorola Roadster bluetooth speaker, but I don't think that's the problem.
Same issue here. Exists on every rom I try. Bluetooth in general is buggy as heel on the S3. It's really disappointing. I don't see many answers here on XDA...
Same here and I am on a new s2 ROM sbean v12 any fix would be great

I am running MADDOGGIN(ROM)-UPDATED(1/4/2013) on my Nexus. The GPS will not lock. I applied a fix for it and it still did'nt work. Does anyone know why?
I am also looking for a 2-Way call recorder for personal use. Yes I know the precautions of call recording. I need one though, please.
Really? Noone knows?

For gps first turn off location access then force stop maps and clear data. Reboot then enable location access then open up maps. Usually works for me, not sure if all those steps will work for you but worth a try.

I've always had this problem ever since JB release. Only thing that gets my gps is to work is the GPS Tool app.
I'm trying to get at&t hot spots to work on a custom rom and the apk that I have I'm not sure if it is the right one I should be doing. Anyone able to put the apk on dropbox or something.
Justice bump. I asked this question a little while ago and never got a good answer. Out of curiousity what APK is it that you've got? I know digging through the processes it is listed as running in my phone. Replicating this would be great for ROMs, especially since I'm working part time at Starbucks....

This is what I tried using...
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fc68tce5vdvyayk/att_hotspots.apk
It shows up as a running app but it doesn't do anything. I'm going to check my bosses phone (S4) tomorrow to see how the app opens when I open it on his phone. On my phone, the app keeps saying there is an update when I select it but it never updates.
I agree that it would be great to get this working. A colleague mentioned that he was able to by both installing the apk and copying the apk to \system\app (for auto running). So far no luck on my end
This is different than the one that I had tried and looks to be the right one. I downloaded it to my SD card and went to install and got a message saying it was already installed as a system app (makes sense for stock). Have you tried doing it from there to keep functionality of it when flashing ROMs? I would say this is the right track alright.
Is your custom rom AOSP-based? Because I think I remember reading that the functionality of "AT&T hot spots" is built into the framework for touchwiz roms.
It is. I havent been able to find confirmation either way. Just that the hot spots app is what makes the connection.

First things first you have to make sure your kernel supports wifi tethering, without this you are wasting your time. In all my time on android as long as tethering is enabled in the kernel its just a matter of turning on the hotspot from within the settings menu. I don't recall the touchwiz menus to tell you exactly where the tethering option is but in aosp based roms its under the 'more' option in the wireless and networks section. This is also where you can set the ssid, security encryption, etc for the wireless network you are broadcasting.
Hi. It's not wifi tethering that I'm after. I want to use the AT&T wifi service that my office building gets since my cell signal is terrible at work. It's the only thing I miss from the Samsung ROM
OK so I flashed a ROM and tried installing the apk you were using and it seems to have made a small difference. I'm automatically connected without signing in to Starbucks AT&T WiFi (the way I would usually have to without the app) after having saved the network. Strange thing is looking at the app itself seems to suggest its not running. Running Apps shows 0.00kb in data. I'm not sure if its then a function of the ROM (which I doubt, its never done this before) or the app.
