try all radios.
We eagerly wait on your report on your findings.
Nobody can tell you what radio to use unless they live in your house. We all get different coverage with different radios. Some people love the blaze 4g radio, others use stock ics uvle1, and others have had success with the galaxy note radio. Play with them all and see which works best for you

Thank you very much. Now, should I remove a radio in order to flash another one or just flash the new one?

Flashing the new one will overwrite the old one. And I would recommend the radio from the galaxy note by T-Mobile. I never had service in my basement with any other radio, I get two bars of edge now.

You can enable wifi-calling on pretty much any plan from what I understand. I have it enabled and use it on a Monthly 4G plan with the same phone.
Try the different radios for each firmware update. Such as 4.0.1 ROMs need 4.0.4 Radios!
Anyone living in the area can tell me if lte is available there? I'll be visiting mickey with the family and I've never experienced lte on sprint b4 since it's not yet available in my area (ft Lauderdale). I'm running paranoid rom and I'm not sure if lte is functional on it. I have a backup of a stock build just in case.
Thanks

According to Sensorly, there's not any 4G LTE there, yet. When are you going? Because Orlando's LTE sites should be popping up very, very soon.
I was just there last week and no LTE to be found.

You'll most likely have 3g speeds (They're doing work in Orlando). When I went to Disney last year, I had about 450-550 kbps through all of Magic Kingdom. YMMV.

I just got back on Monday, was there from 10/24 - 10/29, no LTE in any of the 4 parks.

Good thing I'll have a lot of distraction. Don't know if I could deal with no wifi for 4 days in other circumstances... Lol.

im in orlando and i can say no lte yet but i have had signal shortages so maybe they are working on it.
I was there 10/20 through 10/26, didn't get LTE, but did in Atlanta on the way there and back; we drove down from Nashville.

I hope they get SOMETHING there. In April, the 3g was WORTHLESS in the parks. Seriously.
I will say this, when I and the family was at Universal Studios and Disney World for the week, people everywhere were on their phones, and I would say 95% had iPhones. I saw only one person with a GS3.
I had dinner at the California Grill on top of the Contemporary last night (12/29/2012) and got a LTE signal. 11MB down/5up
Not sure if you've been already or not but I got LTE service this morning for the first time I've noticed on 429 for a couple miles at least, I read 11.21up,3.42 down---- 20.27up 6.72down---- 12.14up .75down.
i was in orlando last weekend (universal studios) and the in park coverage was horrid. it was pretty busy so i don't know if it was just the number of people there or what. also i had my roaming off. outside the park, the coverage was ok (3 bars). i don't remember any lte
As the title says, does anyone know what the best modem is around here? I know it's a long shot someone will reply from Cincinnati but that'd be nice.

MB1 has been solid for me, but our coverage is pretty mediocre around here as you know.

I also live in Ohio.. And I get terrible 3g speeds.. I'm talking 0.10 mbps download speeds.. 4G doesn't come to us until 2014 from what I read..

Yeah its actually so depressing. Akron is getting lte before us. At least when it does finally come it will feel like God himself is providing our Internet after using 3g for so long

Why don't you update to MB1? For some reason LJ7 is lagging and sometimes doesn't turn on the WiFi.

I've had noticeably better reception over LJ7, but as others stated, 3G is terrible here. Wimax on my Epic 4G was actually pretty good in a lot of areas, its too bad they didn't pack that radio in our S3s.

Don't know if you all are still listening but have any of you noticed how much worse the 3g has gotten lately. Over here on the west side, I've been noticing that I'm on 1x most of the time. I finally got around to flashing MB1 today so I'm hoping that is going to be better. Not that I have high hopes at all...

Check to see if there is a PRL update for your phone. Go into system settings / system update / update PRL. Just a thought and thanks for the app name will check it out.
If the tower is too close the signal goes over you. They broadcast high so if you're within a few hundred feet you won't connect. I have this issue at my mom's house. Theres an lte tower on the back of the block and I have to walk across the street to connect to it.

100% correct the closer you get to the tower itself the less signal you will get. I have figures that a minimal distance of 2 city blocks to get strong signal from closest tower.

Makes real good sense. I have so many other towers in my area though shouldn't it atlease connect to one of those instead of a tower in the city above me. I'm guessing that's what that green line going to the tower means in my picture... Also for the people that asked. Yes I did do prl and profile update no I haven't tryed any radios yet I'm currently on LJ7 baseband. Will try later though

If it's anything like the 3g and voice upgrades we got over here it will be... went from 2 bars to full signal and from lucky to pull .30 mbps to consistently getting 1.50 or more (and this is during peak usage times, in the middle of the night I pull just over 2 mbps, enough to tether the ps3 for black ops 2 with no lag whatsoever!)
Ok been looking for those new baseband but can't find the latest MB1. I did try a few others with no success. I am now on LG8, still sucks so I want to try the latest one. Anyone got a zip file.

Dial *18 on the dialer, hit send/call, and let it do it's thing....This should give you better signal instantly.

Crappy service is also pretty normal when LTE starts popping up, so it may partially be that as well

I don't know if this is just my phone or what, but lately I've been having trouble staying connected to data. Been needing to constantly toggle data on/off to reconnect.
I'm currently on TW 4.1.2 and I've tried everything from "hands free activation" to flashing different modems and PRLs. Nothing seems to work. Trying to figure out if this is a problem with my phone or if anybody else has been dealing with this problem.
Driving nutz. About to switch over T-mo if this doesn't rectify itself. Dah!
It might be that Sprint is upgrading the towers in your area. Horrible service is one of the signs that this may be going on, especially if its only shown up recently. I would suggest to contact Sprint and inquire

I'm in the southern part of Arizona, between Phoenix and Tucson. I've only started experiencing this problem about a week ago. It's so annoying.
But yeah, i checked s4gru. And it would appear other peeps are having this problem as well. This is driving me crazy tho. Need data for work. I'm about to move on from CDMA.
T-mo is offering Nexus 4 for $50. No contract. Might just switch. I dunno.

This last week my phone started instantly switching back from 4g to 3g. I used to be able to toggle airplane mode and toggle it off and it would just reload the 4g when it reconnected but now it wont even do that. I was reading a suggestion to toggle LTE only mode from the ##data# menu but before doing that I noticed my phone was set to "hybrid mode" I changed it over to cdma/evdo/lte and after I did that it connected to 4g and stayed connected. Hopefully this helps you out... I was getting just as frustrated as you are to be stuck on 3g when I KNOW it is in the area.
