Since I can't post in the development thread. Does anyone know of a workaround to get exFAT to work on Wicked V2? I have a 64GB card sitting around that I would love to use.
You could try formatting the card in Fat32:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773735
I believe the ROM you're using will read this format.
ExFAT = Samsung/Microsoft license closed source.
No exFAT ever for anyone other than stock kernels I believe.

The advantages over FAT file systems include:
For the typical user, seamless interoperability between Windows and OS X platforms for files in excess of 4 GiB. NOTE: Windows XP may require Update for Windows XP (KB955704) to manage exFAT formatted drives.
Scalability to large disk sizes: 64 ZiB[nb 2] theoretical max, 512 TiB recommended max, raised from the 32-bit limit (2 TiB for sector size 512) of FAT32 partitions.[10]
File size limit of 16 EiB–1 byte.[nb 1] (limited by volume size), raised from 4 GiB−1 byte in a standard FAT32 filesystem.[2] (The open FAT+[7] specification proposes an extension how to store files up to 256 GB on otherwise backward-compatible FAT32 volumes as well. This extension is available in some versions of DR-DOS.)
Cluster size up to 32 MiB.[2]
Free space allocation and delete performance improved due to introduction of a free space bitmap.
Timestamp granularity of 10 ms (same as in FAT12/FAT16/FAT32 for creation time, but not as fine as NTFS's 100 ns).[1]
Optional support for UTC timestamps (starting with Vista SP2).[11]
Optional support for access control lists (not supported in Windows Vista SP1).[12]
Optional support for TexFAT, a transactional file system standard (optionally WinCE activated function).
Provision for OEM-definable parameters to customize the file system for specific device characteristics.
And in English: None for an average person who has no idea what any of the above means.

Then use ext4. It should mount and work perfectly on a CM based ROM. That is what my 64gb card is formatted as.

So I got a great deal on a class 10 32GB Samsung card, it came pre-formatted to fat32, however I had the wild idea that android supported NTFS based on something I read in the past so I formatted it to NTFS on a windows system and copied some files over (some being over 5GB each)...plugged in my card and turned on my phone and I get a message saying my card is blank or the wrong file format...guess it doesn't support NTFS
I know if I use the phones built in format utility it will format to fat32 which I don't really want because of the filesize limitation, I'd like to be able to copy 8-10GB files every so often so I can use my phone as a little shuttle drive in between places...
But I also want the ability for windows to be able to read my sd card if I change my phone into USB mode so I think that excludes the ext3, ext4 format which I think android will read...
Any ideas?

The reason the op doesn't want fat32 is because he has single files that exceeds 4 GB that he wants to transfer, so fat32 would not work for him.

format it ext3/4 and then install an ftp server app on your phone.
There is an app that works fine
I have exactly the same problem. I want to have the sdcard in NTFS so then I do not have the 4GB limitation of FAT32. The is possible to have .mkv files on your phone or tablet.
In the case of my table the N8010, I have formatted the sd card on Windows with NTFS. Then installed the "paragon" app from market which works very good. It recognized the sd card in NTFS and mount perfectly. But it seems that when your card is overloaded with thounsands of files and some big 6GB file, then comes the problem. Android JB everytime that comes out of sleep, it will check for errors the sd card. Everytime! Then, I get the message "sd card checking for errors" and never gets back. The sd card is not recognized anymore until I reboot the device.
I think that the paragon app is not perfect and might have bugs, but
Is there any way to disable the "sd card check for error" functionality? Have read some threads about it, to delete some file from system, but that method produces inconsistencies with other apps.
By the way, I have tried to format on ExFat, and had the same problem. When the card is almost full it will never end up checking for errors. I finally broke the sd card when I formated it with ExFat and 64k allocation size. It was not regoznized neither by windows and android afterwards
thanks

I don't think you broke it unless you fried the flash chips. You can try using the disk manager in windows and try to see if it sees it. Or just learn how to use Linux command line tools and fix it that way. I recovered 80% of my pictures off of a dead SD card using dd and a file recovery utility. I don't recall which one. That 16GB SD card now works just fine as a 12GB card. I don't trust it for any more than shuttling between systems though.
Also, I've never had good luck with exFAT. I much prefer the EXT filesystems, but they aren't natively supported in windows or most cameras. Maybe try NTFS without journaling (If that's even possible)

exfat is proprietary windows and needs licenses. android won't support it.
ntfs is a journaling file system and will impact performance if you can get android to read it.
ext2/3 is the best solution. there are utilities you can install so windows can read it.

So ntfs is useless!
SGS3 support exFat which also does not have the 4GB file limit (and windows can read exFat partitions)
Windows uses NTFS. So Windows natively reads and writes that too.

I still wouldnt say it was totally useless, it will mean that any phone can access it with that app, as far as I am aware there is no exfat mounting app, i.e, if you format you sd card as exfat then only your phone or other exfat devices can read it - not a major issue but handy nonetheless.
My MicroSD card is exFat formatted 100%.
When using Kies or connecting via USB to PC it won't transfer my files over 4gb.
The MicroSD is not fat, fat32, if that's what you're thinking is causing the problem.
I can however transfers large files over 4gb to my MicroSD if its directly put it into my PC SD slot. Using this method works and I now have huge 12gb movies on my MicroSD.
So here is my problem.....What's up with Kies and MTP protocol not allowing these large files to transfer?
Any help or knowledge on this would be great!

Its not about airdroid, I don't think airdroid can find extenal sd anyways. Its about MTP and Kies not transferring larger files.
This could be an issue with JB. I had the same problem on my GS3. On ICS, I can copy HD movies larger than 4 GB to my microSD card (64 GB). But when I flashed one of the JB leaks, this didn't work anymore so I quickly went back to ICS.
Big disappointment that the Note II doesn't support UMS mode. MTP is pure garbage. If I was the developer of it, I'd just drag the whole project to the trash can - no hesitation - before anyone found out what crap I'd written!

Thanks, I do know of this already as I've already had the misfortune of buying the SGS3. I'm a firm believer that my phone should work for me from the get go and not against me. Combine that with the need of rooting and needing scripts - I feel it would be best if I bided my time waiting to see what HTC and LG come out with.

At least this thread answered one question I had about the Note II: does it support ExFAT? So it does, and I will probably trade my SGS3 for it.

I shared a 8GB file within my network. I accessed the folder (well, a shared network harddrive to be exact in my case) with File Expert and copied the file without issues to the external MicroSD (exFat). No need to pull out the MicroSD.
I can confirm that the SGS3 with the official JB ROM has the same problem. I can no longer copy large HD movies (+4GB) to my 64GB SDXC exFAT memory card.

I am having the exact same dilemma with Note 3. Anybody find a solution?
Get an external card reader... (I recommend something like this http://www.transcend-info.com/products/Catlist.asp?modno=396&cat_no=208 ).
Then you can transfer your large 4GB+ movies/files over.

Btw, I have been using a 64GB SanDisk Ultra Class 10 for over 6 months with no issues. All my music, videos, ROMs backups etc are stored on the card. It gets heavy usage.. the biggest common denominator of the thread appears too be that the size of the card is the main issue and not the brand. 32GB cards are having the most problems.

Hard to say when you didn’t tell us what kind of SD card it is, what size, and how long you have had it. You need to give more information.
If it is a 64 GB card, it is because android natively does not support exFAT file systems for storage. Your issue is that the format is not compatible. In this case, flash perseus kernel found in the original android development section. Problem solved.
If it is an SD card of 32 GB or less, the issue is likely that you need to just format it. In this case just find an adapter to plug it into your PC, when the little window pops up asking you what you want to do “open folder to view files etc etc” all that… just close that window. Open some other folder (doesn’t matter which one) and on the left side you will see the drive shown. It will probably show up as F: or something… maybe G: … maybe Z:… who knows… but it will NOT be C:… C is your computer drive, don’t touch that.
Find the storage device on the left side, RIGHT click on it, and select “format”….
UNCHECK the “quick format option”…
For the file system select “FAT32” and for the cluster size select 32kb… (default is 16, but 32 is better and will provide better performance.)
Start the formatting. It will take a while… so go grab some lunch. If that doesn’t solve the issue then I don’t know what to tell you without more information but my guess after that would be that you have had the card for a while and it simply needs to be replaced.
What size card is it, what class, and who makes it?

What you could try (even though I don't know how Android can handle this) is to create two partitions with each 32gb on your 64gb sdcard and see whether this works or not. Other than that I don't have too many ideas left :/

you can either do it with windows (Start > Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Administrative Tools > Create and Format Hard Disk Partitions > Disk Management) or with a tool like paragon partition manager (isn't free so you'd have to search for a freeware alternative) and there you shrink your 64gb fat 32 partition to a 32gb fat32 partition and create a new partition on the remaining 32gb of unallocated space also with fat32.
your pc will recognize your sdcard as if there were two. Now that i think of it, I really am not sure whether android will recognize your 64gb or better both 32gb partitions on your phone or if Android will say that you sdcard is corrupted.
If you do that and android suggests to format your sdcard DON'T DO IT ON ANDROID. I got myself some fried sdcards there. So if it doesn't work out you can delete one of the 32gb partitions and enlarge the other again to 64gb but do that from your pc.
You'll need a card reader or usb adapter or something. It won't work with the sdcard inserted in your phone as Android now uses mtp rather than ums and you can't perform those tasks from windows with mtp.

Hmm ill give it a try later. Right now im guessing that my recovery does not support the sdcard. Im currently on CWM TOUCH 6.0.3.1. And looking for a rom with good battery life.
Guys I truly don't mean to be a stick in the mud about this, but you can search XDA and Google about this issue. A lot of people are having this exact same issue. That's why I said a 64 may or may not work with other brands, but the Samsung cards seem to always work like their suppose to (given they aren't defective). There are a few other threads about this on the forums as well. If you do by chance get it working please do share, and perhaps PM a mod and see if you can post a guide on it.
Note 2 has problems with some 64Gb card due to (here: my speculation) bad power supply and stabilization.
Kingston 64/10 makes my Note 2 unhappy.
Sandisk 64/U1 more or less stable with FAT32 but makes instability issues with exFAT.
Sandisk 32/10 and Kingston 32/10 are fully OK with FAT32.
