I am using EhnDroix III and I can't call anyone. When I try to call, it doesn't ring at all and when someone calls me, I pick up but I hear nothing on the other side... Any help? SMS is working fine so not a carrier problem. I have had this problem with stock CM10 as well... Any suggestions?

How about changing the baseband? Did you try this already?
So do I have to change the baseband? Cuz I'm using dxlm2 so... Do I use dxlm2 or something else?

I´m not sure it´s the baseband, but it´s quite possible. I once also had problems with one of Arcos early CM9 betas after upgrading the baseband and had to revert back to the one I used before. In further Betas this problem is gone, so I could use the newer baseband too. Each release of a baseband has a different name. So for me the older was something with KL3 and the newer LMB. You have to make sure the baseband you will flash is used in your region/location. There are basebands for europe, asia, africa and so on.
It worked.... not for long. I changed to PacMan ROM due to recommendation and its gone. I flashed it again and it came back but when I swapped sd card using build.prop, its gone even though I flash the baseband. Now I am trying to swap via vold.fstab. Let's see how it goes...

I've tried the following ROM and I ended up using ArpegGioMod 0.8 with Link2SD now.
SimplyGio 1.3
CyanogenMod 7.1 KANG (RC-3.0)
Cy4noobsMod-7.1.3.1
ArpegGioMod 0.8
I'm using cyan kang RC 3.0, phiexz
little confuse,, However still remembering my former rom, Particle, by hyriand
the former has wifi problem, but the music player n effect was excellent, and also no problem, except mount warning issue...
the RC 3.0 I'm using now is promoted to be having wifi worked,,,
but I never found this rom that way, Im stucked to decide which way should I...
hi, what about your rom,,,
can u describe and tell about those following roms by your opinion???
SimplyGio 1.3
Pretty stable and supports other language, my dad has been using it on his Gio for over a month now.
CyanogenMod 7.1 KANG (RC-3.0)
I had some issue with GPS and split camera screen, other than that it has been pretty good and I used it for about 3 weeks between RC2 and 3. I'll probably go back to this again later.
Cy4noobsMod-7.1.3.1
Had some issue with market and S2E but didn't spend too much time on this ROM.
ArpegGioMod 0.8
Having some problem with Link2SD now and I'll try the 0.8.1.1 boot and dtapps2sd later.
I'm choosing between ArpegGioMod and CM 7.1 RC3 depending on what dtapps2sd is like on the ArpegGioMod.
For your wifi problem, did you load the modem file when you load the Particle ROM?
I am using CyanogenMod 9

I've had success with cm7.2, cm9 and arpegiomod.
I am currently using cm7.2 because it's the one I find to be the most stable of the bunch. CM9 is quickly catching up though, looking forward to using it full-time in the near future
I'll be making one...
I've used:
Cm7.1 didn't use very long
Cm7.2 most stable custom ROM for me
ArpegGioMod 0.8 best ROM based on stock for M.
Particle ROM worked great for me as long as you preserve your baseband. Second best stock ROM for M. Kernel works great for overclocking and scripts.

I'm now using GioPro v1.4 and yesterday I've used CM9..
CM9 is good enough, but the battery life isn't so good..
GioPro 1.4, but I'm going back to SimpliGio, or maybe see if I can get CM7 or CM9 working.
The problem is, I was a newb and flashed by modem. Now I can't connect to Virgin/Bell (ie no SMS, phone calls, nothing).
Anybody know where I can either get a stock modem for the GT-S5660m or stock firmware for it and extract the modem? Most of the "official" firmwares I've seen have been for the non-m model only.

In Firmwares, right?
I only see for the GT-S5660 non-M model. And a GT-S5660V version? What's that?
Edit: Nvm, it's for Oceania.
If you see regular thread, search for something with MUG baseband, its also for M model

I don't entirely understand your post. Do you mean search the site itself or the forum?
And what, exactly, would I search? "MUG baseband"?
Should I just make a new topic? Don't want to take over this thread...
Also, my phone is confused. I just tried flashing the GT-S5660 firmware at sammobile, and my phone shows it as being GT-S5660L. Is that because of the firmware or is that really my model number?
I meand to say this

Hi, I have a Galaxy Gio GT-S5660V from Optus Australia. currently running the S5660MUGKG3 baseband. I occasionally have issues with bluetooth refusing to turn on, wifi not turning on and then rebooting my phone, etc. I've downloaded the latest firmware from sammobile "S5660VXXKQK_S5660VOPPKQ2_OPP". Should I flash this baseband to my Gio? I'm running GalaxyICS CM9 RC1 from Maclaw. Any other Aussie Gio users? Which baseband do you recommend? Thanks in advance.
Im not sure what baseband does but i know its according to region and the one you have right now is the one that came preinstalled on my gio, the Canadian one, so it might cause trouble for Australia idk

Yes, I installed the Canadian Bell ROM and baseband in order to unlock my phone. Baseband sits under the ROM and controls the hardware interface. There are a few basebands out there for S5660, S5660M and S5660V, but I can't find any information on which is the latest, changes, or which is better for stock/CM ROMs, etc.
Use the latest wich is specific for your V model, otherwise you will get problems..

Hi All,
I flashed my T989 with UVLI1 radio so that I can run the CM 10.1 Preview 1.
But with this radio, phone is not detecting the SIM card (seems to be an issue with my sim Service Provider only because SIMs of other service providers are working just fine.).
I had the same problem when the phone was running stock GB rom. And it got resolved once I upgraded the phone firmware to Stock ICS 4.0.3 rom with UVLE1 radio.
Lot of people are reporting call issues with UVLI4 radio, so i was wondering if the older UVLE1 radio is compatible with the CM 10.1 rom or I just have to go back to CM 10.0 to use the UVLE1 radio ?
The new UVLI4 radio was draining my battery like crazy for some reason, flashed back to UVLE radio and all is well. BTW, I'm running CM10.1 preview 2.

Might want to try manually setting APN settings.

thanks for the tip, though my problem is not with data but rather with getting the sim to be detected by the phone or I am missing something ?
Finally the issue got resolved by getting a new SIM from existing operator. Still on the LI4 radio.
Could someone explain to me why and in which aspect the baseband underlying a custom ROM is important?
I can understand it in that way, that the stock ROMs have had different RAM sizes and therefore the size for the custom ROM would be different, but beside that?
After a certain version AFAIR they all had 624 MB RAM.
So why is there e.g. a recommendation of MH1 (or is it already MH2) for CM 10.1 Canjica?

i guess some of dev use certain baseband when they build that custum ROM, if we use the same basebabd that the dev use, we know that custumROM will work at least like what dev expect CMIIW
I guess its cuz for new firmwares u need new basebands. Newer basebands are better too, cuz they have more 3G/2G speed so... why do u want an old baseband if its worse? As an Ascend G300 I gotta say that there's a small chance doing a multibaseband ROM. But, as I said, the last baseband is the best.
Hope it helped u guyz
Easy answer:
For a new base band I would have to flash a new stock firmware and therefore would probably loose all apps and settings...
But you are hopefully right in that point... that the newer the better...
So next time I flash my ROM, I will use mh1 as a base.

Ok so I bought a Galaxy SII unlock from ebay. Phone says t-mobile but the model # on my splash/boot screen says SGH-T989"D" how ever when I go to phone info it show as model SGH-T989 (no "D") my provider is t-mobile on a monthly unlimited (no contract) Phone works just trying to update to get the benefits from the update... I have tried to update using Samsung kies and it says device is not supported (am I missing something? ) so can anyone enlighten me to whats going on
* why phone is not detected in Kies.
* why cant I update to jelly bean.
* is the D on the model number for a different provider and is there a way to update to jelly bean through software from that provider.
UPDATE: Just realized that the model # SGH-T989"D" only shows up on my Splash/boot screen, in my about Phone > phone model it shows SGH-T989 (without the "D")
Feedback will be welcome
Thanks
I'm pretty sure the t989d is e Canadian variant from Wind Mobile.

from some other post Telus and Koodo.....this phone work on my t-mobile account it even says t-mobile when it boot and even on the front of the phone.
Could any one else give me more feedback to help me solve my issues
Thanks

What it says on the boot screen depends only on the Rom. If the front says T-Mobile it's probably a T989.

It doesn't really make a difference, both are the same and any t989 roms will work. It would be good to know which it actually is tho....a D or not a D. A few minor issues could arise. I have the D from Telus.
The only issue I can think of off the top of my head is that the 4.1.2 Tiberius kernel messes up my rotation. But I was also using a Telus based rom at the time. So not sure if that was a rom or phone model issue.

It doesn't matter if you're flashing the ROM, but if you use kies or odin it might not work with the wrong model. I had the t989 but I wanted the Koodo rom since there was less bloatware. I wasn't able to do it using kies or odin, but I could flash t989d roms through recovery.

Update: it seems to be working .....so I saw one post of a user that said that he flashed his phone ...looked into it and tried it here is what I found .......
for some reason my unlocked phone has a SGH-T989D (Canada version) Baseband board i started flashing the t-mobile official ROM....phone was not stable baseband said Unknown , ran the Telus and and phone was smooth as butter so I decided to run the T-mobile again. Telus version updated the baseband version to the current one and now the t-mobile ROM seems to be working now
