xperia s big problem - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

hello every one, time ago I had the jelly bean leaked rom, then I tried the paranoid android ( I don't remember the version, maybe 2,5)
this rom had replaced clock work mode with TEAM WIN RECOVERY PROJECT, and my back up of the jelly bean leaked disappeared
then I tried to reinstall the zip of my previos rom but the button of install doesn't work D:
when I press it, it frozes my phone, so I wiped all the stuff I could wipe and now I'm without any rom on the phone and without the possibility to install a zip :silly:
help please

You could try and install the leak kernel (which includes cwm) via fastboot, boot into cwm and restore your backup. Provided you haven't deleted it or formatted you sd card partition, the backup should be there.
If you have deleted the backup, installs Kendall for leaked Rom then flash rom.

[Q] Installing MIUI on Defy; stuck on the Motorola logo

Hi,
I am trying to flash MIUI on my Defy which is currently running the official 2.2.2 released here in India.
What i have done so far (and repeated the entire process several times):
-Rooted the phone using SuperOneClick
-Installed ROM Manager
-Installed Clockworkmod Recovery 2.5.1.8 for Defy
-Downloaded 'miuiandroid_Defy-2.3.4a' the then latest version of MIUI from their site and the corresponding language pack
-Installed and booted into custom recovery
-Took a nandroid backup of the current ROM
-Wiped data, cache and dalvik cache
-Selected the .zip ROM file from the sdcard and installed it
-After the installation was done, i rebooted the system
This is where the problem started. I had read that the phone might take forever for its first boot. But in my case, the phone would stay stuck on the M logo till i removed the battery. On restart, the same thing repeated.
I found the SBF for the retail version of 2.2 i found on the forums and used RSD Lite 4.9 to flash it to the phone and then restored the nandroid backup i had made previously to get back to where i started from. And i repeated the entire process 4 times using 3 different versions of MIUI.
Am i missing something here? What can i do to get the phone to move past that M logo? I have been trying to find a solution to this issue since over a week now. None of the forums seem to have a solution to a similar problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Answer to all Your problems
It's a common mistake. You must have forgotten about wipe all (cache and personal data) before installing zip package containing MIUI.

[Q] How to update Gio stock 2.3.3 to CM9?

Hello forum-members!
I have a question I really want to ask: How can I update my Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660 from stock 2.3.3 to CyanogenMod 9.0.0?
With CM9, I mean the version for Gio, as found on this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1414173
At the moment, my mobile is like this:
Firmware: stock 2.3.3
PDA: S5660XXKPS
PHONE: S5660XXKPA
CSC: S5660XENKP1
Rooted using the update.zip-methode, installed Titanium Backup
ClockWorkMod-based Recovery v5.0.2.6 installed (But I still have a problem with it, it says things like 'E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command' and 'E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log', no idea if I have to fix this or not...)
So, how can I update this stock 2.3.3 to CM9? I only have a lot of experience with jailbreaking, but not with flashing ROMS and installing special Android tools, so a bit of step-by-step guide.
If you think updating to CM7 is better for me, since that's a more complete ROM, please say it, which CM7 ROM, and how it can be done
I hope someone is able to help me, as I would really like to use a nice ROM on my Gio
You should use cm7.2, its stable and fast..

Well, to be honest, I think I will flash CM9 on my Gio if a new version comes out.
But what if it turns out wrong, or when the ROM does not meet my expectations? Is there a easy way to return to the stock 2.3.3 firmware?

Yes, I already flashed a version of ClockWorkMod (px-CWM-v2.zip), but as I mentioned in my first post, I have a problem with it... Do you maybe know a solution? I heard something about ext4 or something like that to fix it?

Please, help me!
I installed CM9 beta 3 on my gio, after flashing the CWM-version phiexz posted here in this topic (http://www.mediafire.com/?3umwbz3gg6oo6c6). I did everything discribed in the topic of CM9 for Gio port.
Flash Special Clockworkod Recovery for CyanogenMod 9:
skip this step if you have special clockworkmod (CM7.1/CM7.2/GM9) installed on your phone
Download: px-CWM-v2.zip
Place it on root of your sdcard
reboot to recovery mode
install this cwm from recovery
I didn't have to do this first part, since I already had CWM installed on my Gio.
Flash Cyanogenmod 9:
Download and copy the latest CM9 ROM to SD Card
Reboot to Recovery Mode
Select Install zip from sd card
Select Choose zip from sd card
Select the new CM9 rom package
Select Yes - Install update
Wait till the Installation is finish
Now select Wipe data/factory reset
Confirm
Now reboot to phone.
Wait and enjoy CM9 on your Galaxy Gio
I did everything just as described here... AND I did not forget to select 'Wipe data/factory reset' as said in this short tutorial, so that's not the problem!

But after all this, it stucks on saying 'ANDROID'. If I turn off the phone, it automatically turns on again. I can still enter CWM Recovery, but if I click on 'restore backup' (because I made a backup of my stock ROM before flashing CM9), it says:
Code:
Checking MD5 sums...
Eresing boot before restore...
Restoring boot image...
Restoring system...
E:format_volume: format_rfs_device failed on /dev/block/stl12
Error while formatting /system!
My question now is:
Is there a way I can make CM9 work on my Gio (I prefer this one), restore my backup, or connect to Kies, so I can place a clean stock ROM on my Gio?
I hope someone can help me!

Note that cm9 is not in beta 3 but alpha status.
You can flash cm7, same instructions as cm9, much more stable.
Try installing a different version of CWM and restore
Or read tutorials how to use ODIN and flash stock rom

I was already planning to flash CM7 now, but there was only one thing I was still wondering about.
The Cyanogenmod 7 instructions topic says:
NOTE:
It's not automatically wipe your data. if you want to install fresh rom, you must wipe data before install it!
If you from stock / custom rom based on rfs filesystem, u must flash ext4-formatter.zip before flash CyanogenMod. link & instruction can fount on This Thread. otherwise you'll stuck on android logo because it cant mount rfs filesystem!
have problem after upgrade from earlier cyanogenMod? you should wipe your data!!

Cm9 booted??? All firmware is on sammobile.net , also kies firmwares, but the site is not connected to samsung
By the way if you used ext4 formatter zip you use an version of cwm wich has been removed back to construction to bugs, so you should use another one, in the same thread

[Q] Darkforest ICS V4.1.23 Help

So recently, Ive got my SE Xperia Play Bootloader Unlocked and I tried flashing the Darkforest ICS V4.1.23 rom onto the device. So I installed CWM 5.0.2.7 onto my phone with the help of CWM Auto Installer App. Then I reboot the phone into recovery mode and flashed the Darkforest ICS rom onto it after wiping all cache data and factory wipe and stuffs. However , when I reboot it I realised it was actually stuck at the Sony Ericsson White Words. So I guess it was properly due to the Kernel. Thus, I flashed the Darkforest ICS kernel onto the device through flashtool. But when I reboot the phone, it was stuck at the Sony logo for a long time, and it won't load. Afterward I entered the recovery mode of the kernel and checked it out. I therefore tried to flash the Darkforest ICS rom once again after wiping all data (Factory Reset and stuffs). However, when I'm about to choose zip to install from SD Card, there was an error saying that the SD card can't be mounted. I tried flashing other kernels like Advanced Stock Kernel but when I try to install zip from SD card, there will be an error saying SD Card cannot be mounted.
The only time I am able to flash the rom is when the device is in its original kernel.
Currently, I have restored the original SE firmware onto my Xperia Play but I really want to flash Darkforest ICS rom onto my phone. If I am doing the wrong thing, please tell me the correct methods. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Flash the stock ftf for your model. Boot it to set up. Power off then fastboot the kernel for your ics rom. Boot into recovery then wipe data, cache, dalvik. Then install from sd. There's no need for cwm app if your using custom kernel. Most come with recovery.

[Q] Problems Flashing JellyTime 4.2 R4.

I've been flashing so many times any 4.2 version, thanks to every dev!!!.
I'm always using 4 EXT recovery without any issue, so I recommend to use it.
Try to search 4 EXT Recovery Updater App in the PlayStore and good luck.
Never had a problem with CWM here.
I have flashed around 50 different JB roms - and also older GB ones.

Masterchrome, have you tried to format all partitions (except SD)?

If you have rooted the HD with AAHK ClockWorkMode Recovery is installed. You can use that way. First you can format the SD-card in the Advanced menu. Remove the SD-Card and connect it to the PC. Copy R4 and Gapps to the SD-card, and put the card in the Phone. Start CMR and flash both. I did it that way, no problems!

Hi Just dowload any room from here put the sd car and install from the cwm .or try to recover from sony pc companion just do repair
Hi thanks for the quick reply
Hmm all my phone can do is stuck at Sony logo, nothing else
It is that bad, and for your info
It can't go into Recovery
My PC / Sony PC Companion is not able to detect it
Flash tool still can detect that it is connected
and by any ROM u mean custom ROM?
I have Speed ROM 8.0, not installed on my phone yet though
If I just install custom ROM I can get my phone back to life?
But first, I don't think I can install custom ROM / do anything when I can't do things I mentioned above
Download stock ICS and flash it using flashtool.
Thanks for the reply
Ok I will try that.
But how to flash a ROM using flash tool? It is possible? I have only used flash tool for firmware.
And all I can google is about how to flash a ROM using ROM Manager or Recovery.
Do you have link to any tutorial about this?
Edit:
Opps I found something about that.
Another question, is it ok to use any version of stock ICS?
I found Dovahkiin 1.2. Is it ok?
Or is Speed ROM 8.0 ok?
