DEV Q - Could we port Conap's multiboot?

Hi devs,
today morning it was news on the xda portal, that it is possible to have 4 ROMs installed on the Droid Incredible, and to choose which one you want to boot up.
Here is the thread
I hope somebody will be interested, and we get at least a dualboot. Would be nice especially, that there is the Ubuntu project now.
The only problem is, that we don't have 8GB internal storage, but we have sdcard (where the Ubuntu runs from to)
I will delete this thread as soon as a dev makes an other one for making the development happen.

but i assume, the rom is installed on internal memory..... correct me if im wrong

yes, it's possible, but it's a bit tricky.
but this way we could have a Sense, a CM and Ubuntu on our DHD at the same time Wouldn't it be nice?

you are right, it is the case with Incredible, but you can run Ubuntu natively on your DHD and it uses your sdcard, so it would be possible to install the ROMs there

I was kidding about w7, but multi boot would be great! Dhd has more than enough internal memory

IF we did get this ported to the dhd, would it be good to go for an inspire user like me? or would it take some more dev time to also port it for the inspire. I'm still not technically aware of what dhd and inspire's differences are..
EDIT: also, are the inspire and dhd's internal memory the same?

That's great idea!!

The desire HD have enough internal memory to have cm7 and sense at the same time.

ok it could be tricky ^^
i tried it and gave the zip's a new update-binary for our phone. but when i want to flash them i only went back to the recovery.

This would be great! Will keep an eye on this hoping something develops..

ill be checking on this thread all day keeping 2 roms at once on the DHD will be greaat for me CM7 for Daily Use and then Sense for the camera

did you use CWM recovery v3.0.8?
and maybe we need to edit the apk to

Yeah, this would be awsome.. Hope someone can make it work on DHD.. Maybe check with the Droid dev and see if he has any pointer´s...

[Q] easy s - off tool

i have read that flashing a radio with the compatible
roms will bring about better battery life. .
So i thought of flashing leedroid's current one and
the suitable radio , since no one is helping me with my
android revolution rom problem. .
i tried to use the tool created and i got and errror.
stating do no reboot seek help from xda . . .
can anybody help? i also cannot post in the original thread starters thread ;(

so if any of you aint seen htc superstools came out and from what the post said it works for the wildfire s for rooting and s-off iv used it and it worked so if anyone aint seen it look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343114 if it works for you make sure you thank him, he has done well i did try to de-sense it but it didnt for work but it might my pc
also has one found any clean roms with out sense on it iv found nothing so far if not il do what i can to build a clean one and see if it goes
(btw this aint my phone its my brothers)

For the last time it doesn't WORK ON BOTH. CDMA has only desense working and nothing else.

I think he meant that it wouldn't work to make the device S-OFF.

If it has worked, could you please paste your hboot info for us, what version is it?
The rest of us can't get it to work - it says eMMc error as it should !

I dont think he even owns a WFS also his sig doesn't mention it either, f***ing idiot. I apologize in advance if I'm wrong, but if I'm right, f***ing idiot.

and i do i have a wfs and an SE xperia play im going to see if i can right some roms for clean roms with out the rubbish on
if youreally want il just edit it say what i own there just oldphones if u read the brakets js

If your looking for a clean rom grab cm7.2 by alquez in development section its stable and by far the best.

i shall haves a looky im still going to build one as im learning coding and and stuff at college so might aswell start here my xperia play is too hard seeing as theres alot more to put in for the d pad

It Simply means HTC supertool can S-OFF WFS without XTC clip......also on xda China there is a thread regarding this...I posted the link in S-OFF solution thread but everybody says that it won't work..maybe the devs have upadated it to work with WFS...also on xda.cn that thread crossed 11 pages.........

Then how do we do this by step? Prep phone then root phone then attempt s-off?

have you got any apps on the phone ? if not try and make a goldcard i didnt use that but it add memory

This is so weird. They haven't updated it, because I tried after seeing this with the latest version. Will try with a goldcard later, but I have HBOOT 1.08.00, don't believe this.

have u got htc software on your pc and did you use the drives he provided and also im using hboot 0.90.0000 thats where u might be going wrong when i get my desk top up and running which should be next week i hope il do a screen show of what i did

[Testers Needed] Flash Image GUI

As the developer of FlashImageGUI, I'm always seeking to expand product support and coverage. I added support for the HTC One XL (AT&T One X) today and am seeking a tester or two that can test the application on their Tegra HTC One X.
Only two simple requirements:
1) Familiar with ADB (I can help with the commands, as long as everything is setup and working)
2) Familiar with the custom recovery (able to make and restore backups)

Well we have niether s-off or the ability to flash to boot (other than through fastboot). So kinda limited really. If you think it`ll work with those crappy limitaions i`d be happy to test. Would be great if it did.

s-off is not needed, only htc official dev unlock.
The htc evo 4g lte, evo 3d, one s and one xl only required htc dev unlock, not s-off.

Well this is not new but sorry to say it won´t be possible. I tested a few alpha builds for @joeykrim and he realized the hack doesn´t work in our device.

If I remember correctly, the HTC unlock method for this device didn't allow write access to the kernel partition while booted in Android, which is odd because the same "official" HTC unlock method on other HTC devices does allow write access to the kernel partition while booted in Android.
If the device is s-off, the app *should* work, but I might be remembering something incorrectly as this was roughly 9 months ago and HTC has a bit too much variation in their security implementations....

wow great! it would be nice to finnaly have something like this handy on our X. anyways, im kinda busy these days, but if other testers dont respond in 1-2 days ill MAKE time.

There's a new thread over in android dev section with someone who is testing. Hoping it's true and patiently waiting. I have tried googling as well but all links lead to the same dead place as filipin said. I even soft bricked trying one of those bs one click script methods for ics and jb phones. Luckily RUU was here! Anyway let us know if anyone finds anything else please, I'll do the same!
