[Q] need help with ROM Toolbox pro and changing battery icons - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey guys,
I really need help on changing the battery icon on my galaxy s3. I jusr hate how it looks. so I downloaded a program called ROM Toolbox Pro (im sure you've heard of it), installed it and downloaded the icon pack (Circular Colourful). I installed it and none of my battery icons changed. I restarted SystemUI.apk and nothing happened. I did a reboot and nothing happened. keep in mind that iam rooted and have custom recovery. i asked a question/ made a post on the bootloop that I encountered when changing SystemUI.apk, but I fixed it. so could someone help me solve this problem?
Thanks

Nevermind, fixed: just installed previous version.

Same Problem
Hi I was just curious what you meant by previous version. I am having the same problem. I'm rooted, running a custom ROM and I was able to change my boot animation fine with Rom Toolbox Pro, but it's not changing the Battery Icons I chose.

As an option, this a very cool statusbar icon creator you use from a PC to make a flashable zip. Some of the settings need to be tweaked to assign the proper names to the pngs. for example. the signal output has to be renamed tw_stat_sys_6_level_signal_ so it replaces the proper files on our phone. I also found success using a working, flashable zip that replaces the battery icons and just replacing the images in that file with the ones i made and rezipping. Its very easy, but seems more geared toward international S3's, so thats why it needs a couple tweaks. The options for colors and styles is pretty impressive!

Removing Coloured & non stock Icons

ok i know i'm about to be lambasted but i thought i'd try asking anyway, how does one remove the coloured status icons from a particular rom w/o editing the rom & reflashing?
Also how to change the icons back to stock icons?
Any help would be appreciated
I don't think it can be done without editing the ROM. The only way I know to change the icons is to extract the rom and use pe explorer, multiextractor, etc to do it. But then again, what icons do you want to change? It's not hard to unpack, swap, repack & flash. If I can do it, anyone can. Look here.
oh ok i'm interested in changing the status icons at the top menu bar and the system icons which have been changed in a custom rom i downloaded i prefer the stock wm icons.

I think they're in the shellres.96.dll. You may look over in the Hacking & Development section. I remember seeing something in there when I was researching a way to change my start icon.

My roms have this in the battery meter file phcanOverbmp.dll if u need to change.
Thanks guys for the suggestions etc, i ended up w/ a solution that didn't involve me doing very much.
I'd made an spb backup of a previous roms settings, and when i restored that ontop of the rom i had newly installed, it changed the icons back to stock, so my problem in that regard is solved. but @ least i know now in the future what i'll have to do if i need to do it again.
Thank You

[HELP] Endless reboot after apply Battery Icon Mod

Help!!!
My DHD is stuck at the Energy boot screen after applying battery icon mod.
May I know what should I do to get it get around the testing cpu stage?
Thanks a million!!!
PS: my DHD is flashed with LeeDroid 1.5.1 and was running fine until I apply the battery icon mod which need a reboot.
Flashing the rom again without any wipe should work.
Or you extract framework-res.apk from it and flash that alone since that is the only file that the battery icon mod changes.
Have you used a battery mod build for your rom or did you take anything you found ? If yes, that could be the problem cause most Roms have slightly different framework-res.apk files.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Thanks.
Sorry for not replying earlier as my ISP had problem accessing xda for whatever reason.
I took out the battery and boot into recovery and flashed LeeDroid again, this works for me.
I used the apk on this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892297
And it did list Desire HD as a supported device.
On that thread, it does mentioned about the framework-res.apk file (now that I saw it on the second post )
So, is there any other way to install this battery icon mod or any other gingerbread style battery icon mod with the percent in it?
Thanks.
you can get that battery and other mods here
http://circle.glx.nl/
sorry....i'm using desire z...and i from HK....i apply the battery icon mod also...
enless for rebot (HTC logo)...what should i do for it?? ;'(

Reception bar

Hi guys.
Im Running Leedroid 3.0.3 with latest kernal.
I used the UOT kitchen and made me a battery icon. it works so all good =)
Q; Where in kitchen can I cook up a different colour reception (signal) bar please?
is it under status bar & then carrier?
Just wanted to double check. Thanks guys
Ajay
under 'Icons'
I've found it & thanks.
Only problem I'm having now is:
When I flashed the icon zip I made, it works BUT puts my battery back to normal??
So when I flashed the battery zip again that worked too, I got my circle battery back BUT then the icons I made also reset?
Can anyone help?
I've used the same framework, sys & HTC.resourses on all mods including a boot screen animation which hasn't been affected by the battery or icon.
Really appreciate it if someone could point me in right direction.
Thanks, AJ.
The check both the 'Use this Mod' for both the 'Battery' and 'Icons' tab.
Do the battery mod that you want, and the Icon mod you want....all in one flashable .zip file.
Flash it, and u'll be okay!

[Q] [HELP] Porting some SystemUI tweaks to XWLP*

Hey guys,
I found this really nice pull down menu here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26035085&postcount=713
Except with this mod, I cannot add it onto my XWLP8 because it was made for XWLP9.
I've figured out how to move the battery icons over (by extracting a bit and looking thru then using the battery mod tool). I just would like to get pretty much the whole thing over including the transparent background and the black look of it.
What would be the best way of going about this? Or would it be better for me to just upload by SystemUI.apk and Framework.apk to let you guys put it together?
Well, I've been trying and trying to get it working. I have very little experience with android hacking, but I went into the Battery mod zip that i flashed on before and realised there was a MORPH folder within - i assumed whatever was in the folder would morph with the original system files. I chucked the files from the XWLP9 mod into the Morph folder in the places, and zipped it up again - I actually named the zip lol because I thought it would just stuff up my secondary boot i use for testing this stuff, and it actually worked. It looks like its working for most areas of the OS. Although I'm not too sure yet...

Rom Toolbox Pro - Fonts

Recently I've been having fun changing the fonts on my phone. With all the fonts I'm able to change in the list, I can't change them all. I mean, I can but when I do and reboot it gets stuck in a bootloop. I've only successfully changed the clock font and pretty much any font that isn't bold or italicized. Although I would like to change some more fonts other than just normal-style fonts. Does anyone know which fonts for sure can't be changed? If not, I'll even go through them one at a time to compile a list of unchangeable fonts.
Or could it be the font I'm choosing just won't take to the font I'm trying to replace?
Okay, it seems they all will change, but to do it safely I have to change some of the separately.

I faced the same problem but how to solve the bootloop if I face it??
I had to flash a new ROM and lost everything. If you made your list it would also be of great help.

SOME fonts from rom toolbox are for GB and below only. that's why you'll get bootloops.
try finding fonts for ICS/JB in the main Android Developement forum then go to themes section. if you get a bootloop and don't have a backup or something
or you could try THIS out
