Why xperia S doesnt have stable CM10? - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

I have heard that sony is very dev friendly and provides all the necessary information to make stable custom roms unlike samsung and HTC. Sony even made an AOSP rom for the xperia S didnt they?
I ask then why is there no stable CM10 for xperia S? Not even an M-snapshot release......has xperia S been dropped from official CM support or something?

The new kernel 3.4 is needed and the aosp project was dropped support. Also, XS is officially supported on cm by FreeXperiaProject. Sony will release the new kernel soon enough and then FXP team will be able to make a stable version.

It depends.
But why do you need timely updates?
It's not an app development, if it is stable, then you can stick to it.

I have a nexus which gets very timely cm updates, we are now on rc version of cm10.1 for nexus S.
My next phone purchase depends largely on cm support as I just find cm to be almost perfect and most hassle free custom ROM setup.

The problem is the very limited availability of the ZL across countries. I really dont understand this move by Sony. Shouldn't they be releasing both the Z and the ZL in every possible place to increase sales? That and a steamrolling ad campaign is how Samsung has managed to be more ubiquitous than Apple. Now they have dedicated places in Best Buys!! Sony is either plain stupid, or just plain stupid

This is my first Sony phone. I need to make sure I totally test before even thinking of releasing. It's going to have the same bugs as CM. So no camera yet.

[XS] No more official MIUI for LT26i from now on.

Not good news guys
Here's the link: http://www.miui.com/thread-1242837-1-1.html
As we know, since MIUI 4.0, the MIUI devs found some brick issues on LT26i (XPERIA S), so they paused the official support for XS.
And they said they'll look into it after XS got 4.1 upgrade, to see if MIUI 5.0 is suitable for XS.
But now they announce that there are still issues on LT26i, so they officially stopped the developement for XS, and we will never get any official support from MIUI devs ever again.
So that's it. One less rom to work with...:crying: quite sad because MIUI is really a special rom for XS (in my opinion).
Let's move on and try other great roms instead.
P.S. Of course you can still always try the MIUI which is built on CM10 on the forum. But it is not official.
That's ok, I'm convinced someone will port it and for me, it doesn't matter WHO's the ROM chef.

There might be still issues on unofficial ones. For example, the MIUI based on CM10 gets poor camera.

Aosp has already been updated to 4.3 for the zl. Build was released but had some major issues, kernel was not updated tho, this will probably fix these issues. So probably in the next few days. Again, aosp.

It's not important to have more development, but maybe instead we get BETTER development.
It's a pity that I don't understand anything about github, compiling and so on. I'd like to give something back to this community, but I can't...

I don't think that they are gonna update the Xperia S anymore. It's a shame as it's a good device, I hope they don't do the same and abandon my Z1 after 18 months like they did with this device. Hopefully tho they might update this but it's very unlikely

Why must there be? There are unofficial versions, just use those. Are you expecting Sony to keep every single phone they ever released up to date? There must be hundreds by now (okay that was a hyperbole, 48 according to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_Xperia), noone can keep up with that. If you must blame anyone or anything for the short while that phones are getting updates, blame Android because it's so hard to install on hardware (compared to more classic PC OS's like Windows and Ubuntu/Pick-Your-Favorite-Linux-Distro). Not even the Galaxy Nexus got an update to Android 4.4, and if there was one Nexus that was most like our Fuji-phones it was that one. So if our generation's Nexus isn't even getting any updates anymore, how do you expect a non-Nexus device to get that update.
Seriously, I don't like this either, so ever since KitKat I haven't run a stock ROM. Now you've learned that if stock updates are important to you, you should get a Nexus or a Google Play Edition device. Sony has been known not to be very good in providing long term updates ever since the Xperia X10 (their very first Android phone). And if you can't afford to get a new phone every 2 years (because that's how long it'll be relevant), you should stop being so sensitive about updates and be happy with what you have.

Best not buy a HTC, support isn't great there either. The One X(L) isn't going beyond Android 4.2. If this is important to you, there's only q Nexus, a Google Play Edition phone or maybe a Motorola Moto X but we still have to see how long Motorola is going to support phones now they're part of Google.
And indeed we wouldn't be much without Rayman or bilchen. But it's like this for the vast majority of Android devices.

I tried several KK-based roms for xperia S, but all gave me random reboots
had some on 4.3, but with 4.4 I have too many to be stable as dayly driver.
i guess they all use the same kernel (open semc), that could explain why the all have it?
but... why do some people claim to have no reboots, and others have em 'all the time'?
i'm now on nature rom (4.1) and no problems at all, it's a great rom, but i really like 4.4 as well.
will there be a stable kernel/version soon?

First of all, the XS it's not just another phone sony launched, its a flagship device that only got two major updates (one actually cause ics should have been out of the box) so I at least expected 4.2 or 4. 3, even Galaxy s2 got them
second, the galaxy nexus didn't get 4.4 because of Texas instruments (supposedly) and as long as other oems continue to update it means it's possible and we have every right to complain about it
