Annoying Gmail long vibration notification - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

i switched over from Googles phone but not sure why Samsung decided to make the vibrations notification for Gmail this long. usually, it will just be a short vibration for my nexus 4.
I already went into settings and change the vibration type to heartbeat but didn't effect Gmail.

[Q] vibrate for phone only?

I'd like to vibrate on phone calls only and not sms, other basic Samsung notifications. Is there an app, workaround to make this possible? The default settings don't offer this option. Stock sms app preferred, not gosmspro.
Thanks!

that makes perfect sense. -_-
thanks man
each app has its own settings for sound and vibrate
you can configure SMS to not vibrate
and keep phone only to vibrate

No message notification on lockscreen (Blu Ray)

I just installed Blu Ray the other day and I noticed that on my lockscreen I no longer have the message notification on the side. I still have the missed call notification just not the one for messages. I checked settings to make sure it was set to messages and still nothing. How do I fix this?
Because different messaging app?

Notifications make no noise anymore

Im made sure all my volumes are all the way up.
Im using the stock messaging app and my phone only vibrates. It doesnt make any noise even when I want to sample the notification noises
In the messaging app, have you tried going into settings and selecting the ringtone and changing the setting from only once to every 2 or 10 minutes?

As said above make sure to go into messaging app and choose settings check to make sure the notifications are activated there. Its seperate from the system settings

[Q] Any way to disable email LED notification w/o disabling all?

I'd like to have notification for missed calls or calendar events but for every email I get, cmon! My led is unfortunately constantly flashing due to email which renders it useless. I've set up handcent to flash green but I;d love to have more control over LED customizing. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks in advance.
Dave
Look into the Tasker app, it has amazing capabilities to customize your phone. If you find yourself asking "I wish my phone did/didn't do this/that"; then you probably could use Tasker.
Do you know if that app will in fact allow me to turn off led notification for email? hate to spend $7 to find out It wont.
Thanks
Dave
Why don't you just turn off notifications from the email app?

Id like to retain the notification email.
Light flow, lite manager or blink might provide the control you need to accomplish this
All are in the market and are either free or have a free version

Lite flow did but killed the swype like function of my Samsung keyboard.

Now i'm really baffled. I turned off all LED notifications in LED indicator under display and also all email notifications in the email app and it is still flashing blue while showing the email icon in the task bar when I get an email. ***Figured it out, had to go into my exchange settings and disable notfication there too. NO idea why it is in two spots. Oddly even if I have all LED notifications disabled I get a flashing blue LED whenever I get an email if notifications are enabled. Doesn't appear that any of these LED apps will override that.

[Q] Screen keeps waking up when I get a text message

Hello,
I have not been able to find any place to disable the screen waking up for 2-3 seconds after I receive a SMS text message. It doesn't do this for facebook, for email, for MMS, but everytime I get an SMS it wakes up which I want to stop it doing.
Anybody know where the option to turn this off is?
Side notes: I have my lockscreen disabled
disable notifications under the sms app.

How is that heloful? He's asking about stopping the screen from turning on, not the entire notification. Op as of now I don't think we can. I think I had heard a while back of an app that stopped the stock sms from turning on the screen but I can't remember at this time the name of the all

I need an answer to this aswell
You have to use another SMS program (like from play store) and disable the default, or root and use the modded apk which allows for this option to be selectable

I solved this problem using Gravity Box, in General fixes -> Fix messaging wakelock.
Good Luck.
