How is the ranking system on xda.
Till now I saw New member, Junior member, Senior member.
Can someone explain me something about this?

The "ranks" or title beyond senior member are ;
Recognised Developer / Contributor / Themer
Elite Recognised Developer
Forum Moderator / Senior Moderator
A search should provide you with information any of these but I wouldn't get too hung up on titles, we're all here for the same reason.

Basically they mean exactly what the literal meaning is. That is a junior member is a new guy to site..
member is just a member.. not too new to be junior.. or not too old to be senior..
Senior member is a member who usually has enough knowledge about site functioning and other related stuff or knows how things works here..
But you get them due to your post count. 0-30 junior 31-99 member 100+ senior I think.. that thread has these info anyway.. so look there.. and do read sticky threads always

With S-OFF devices coming, we will be seeing more and more recognized people
recognized as in we know them, not the title, title honestly means nothing, to most anyway.

"jntdroid" was crossed off the original list. I removed them from my list. They haven't been removed from yours.
As for being an editor on your Google Docs, I'll pass. It would require me to make a new Gmail account, as I don't like giving out my personal one. Thank you for the offer, though. I'll include your link in my original post, though.

Hopefully we will be seeing many more developers here.
You are correct, title means little. Junior Members likely aren't developers, as most can't even post in Development. Members can post, but haven't gotten recognized for anything.
You are a Recognized Contributor because you help out a lot and put out mods of your own, but aren't considered a developer because you aren't putting out full-blown ROMs of your own. You make tweaks and publish that, and help in making ROMs, as you did with Venom ROM on the Dinc 4G, but not much original development is contributed solely to you. I could be a Recognized Contributor, too, if I applied. If I published my personal tweaks and themes, but they mostly apply strictly to my own desires, and I feel as though it wouldn't find widespread adoption. As you know, I have published several informational threads, and that's enough alone to get Recognized status. While I have no doubt that several of these members are quite helpful, few are developers of note so far. That's subject to change, of course. And just because a developer for other phones buys and unlocks our phone doesn't mean they will develop for it. So many variables.
Anyway, with that said, you're still correct: there's little that the title directly means. There's got to be insight into it.

It was my understanding that once you are S-OFF you can change your CID back to stock?
maybe this is from an older HTC phone?
If so, I would consider an S-OFF phone worth more than htc dev unlock, htc dev unlock u can never go back to 100% stock, unless you S-OFF

Unlocked One here. (and my official title would be Moderator & Developer Committee, not my custom one I've got now)
I have mine unlocked, but man, this is kinda the last straw with me and Verizon. I'm honestly thinking of selling it and switching to AT&T to get the next Nexus device. I just really don't want to lose my unlimited data, but at the same time I know when VoLTE comes along they're going to make it an excuse to change the rate plans and force us off of it anyways.

But can I -please- be downgraded to beginner or whatever unqualified member?

It's automated, the tag is applied to you when you hit 100 posts, and because you have 104 posts, you're classified as a senior member.

A forum works in this way.
The rank changes after certain amount of post or when you are promoted (mods and developers only).
Currently it looks like this:
Junior Member -> Member -> Senior Member
Recognized Developer -> Senior Recognized Developer
Forum Moderator -> Senior Moderator
Senior means that you have a long affiliation with the forum and it doesn't say anything about your age. Even 99 years old man can be Junior Member and 10 years old kid can be a Senior Member.
Frankly speaking I don't see anything wrong with that, but if you feel differently, contact one of our admins and highlight the issue.
