Hi,
I have HTC One X, I did unlock and Root the device, but since then I face a screen off problem
meaning
whenever I want to turn the screen on using the power button it takes up to 3 or 10 presses to be on and allow me to use my device, sometimes it didn't respond at all, that I have to turn my device off entirely by long press the power button,
this thing happens after 2 to 5 hours of me installing any room, and some times it didn't happen for half hour or hour, but then it happens again,
I tried everything
from backing to Stock ROM to flashing over 10 different ROMS they all work fine but the screen off problem remains,
now I'm sure it's not a hardware issue since it wasn't there before unlocking my device, I tried relocking the device and flashing a stock ROM but it didn't work.
Some searching results says that it's a booting up problem that the graphic card have a wrong boot info, but if so how can I solve that ?!
my CID is 044 If anyone knows of have a hboot file or boot.img file or anything that can help me solving this problem I would be very grateful
waiting >>>

It wasn't there before unlocking the device, it happens after that particular action
+ that the power button works fine and the screen three lower main touch buttons light up while the screen it self stay off !
Such problems are extremely hard to pin point... May be a hardware issue... Since you have have tried different roms!
Go back to stock and try sending it for warranty...

Well, I'm leaving the Hardware Issue thing to the bottom of my list, as I said before the problem exists only after I unlocked my device, so I think that something went wrong during that process maybe boot.img file or Hboot file error that makes the graphics out of order in such a way that it didn't boot correctly,,
do you know how can I get hboot file for my device !? or at least how can I upgrade it or downgrade it to a different number !?

Unlocking the device can't cause power buttons problem... That's for sure!
You can't downgrade your hboot/base if you have a S-ON device.. you can only upgrade it...
what is your base? run the following command in fastboot and post the result here:
Code:
fastboot getvar version-main

Yeah! 'Unlocking bootloader' just allows you to flash custom recovery by which you can flash custom roms!
However, just to make sure, try locking the bootloader again and then try using the power button and see if it registers the click everytime?!

Yes, flash XM kernel (repack) and then install trickster mod and do the following settings:
Governor : Smartmax/PMC
IO Scheduler: row/noop
CPU cap: 1.2 GHz
When you want to play games, just change governor to interactive and scheduler to row... 1.2 Ghz is more than enough to run games... If you want you can get back to 1.5 Ghz...
All this might sound a long procedure, but it's just a few clicks! and you can set this on boot, so once configured, you can forget about it!

right ... actually if the found a way to signed something correctly it will be more "user friendly"
If we could sign something correctly (meaning, with HTC's release keys) there wouldn't be a USB problem in the first place because we would be able to change the SPL.

I suggest you read the notice from jcase... I'm guessing you were runiing gb?

you ruu was too old - this version doesn't have the required drivers for SLCD.
That means, you phone probably does work, but the screen is black.
I don't know how to solve this (probably by flashing the newer RUU, Version 2.29....) exactly, but hopefully this gives you a clue where to look for a fix.
There were many people experiencing this after Froyo was available. They did the ota-update, then noticed, that it wasn't possible to root with the new bootloader (Version 0.93ish) at that time, which was installed along with the froyo-ota, so they tried to downgrade back to 2.1 and ended up where you are. (bootoader .80 instead of .83ish).

Probably the easiest and safest way ist to boot into fastboot although you don't see it and flash the newsest ruu,
so:
1) make sure, phone is off (i.e. pull battery and put back in)
2) push and hold "back" and hit power.
3) wait 30 seconds or so, to be on the safe side
4) connect phone to pc via usb
5) run RUU on PC, version 2.29.405... (RUU, not OTA!)
And make sure to have some juice in your battery
Here you can get the RUU:
RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.exe
Its on >>Shipped Roms<< , 7th from top.
btw. am I assuming correctly that your phone is unbranded?

did you see any provider logo during startup? Or any preinstalled apps or bookmarks which point into a provider's direction? Where did you buy it? And did you need a goldcard for rooting?
if you answer is no on every question, you're probably not branded.
Did you write down the version number before you did anything to your phone (when you have a .405. in your version number, your phone is definitely not branded).
Edit: but I really recommend to read the linked thread. My device is unbranded amoled so I never did any of this myself (apart from running a RUU), so always think twice before following my steps

no. You have booted into recovery before, didn't you? Now you do the same but use "back" instead of vol- , because you want to boot into fastboot.
All I wanted to say with this 30 seconds is to give it some time to boot into fastboot, thats all. Press and hold "back", press "power", release power, wait 3 seconds, release "back", wait 10 seconds and plug in usb, start ruu.
Thats all I wanted to say with my previous post. Sry, if it was confusing

no.

If it is branded, you get a cid-error, so ruu wont finish. But your phone probably isn't branded, otherwise you would have come across problems during flashing custom roms or/or radios (-->goldcard). And because this doesn't seem to be the case, your device is not branded.
When the RUU is done, you phone is completely back to stock and you can do whatever you like to it...

can flashing a cwm recovery brick my phone?
how about TITANIUM kernel?
ps: every thing is stock on my one v
Hi
Actually those things cannot "brick" your phone.
In the worst case you can always apply the RUU to get it back to stock.
Only really "stupid" things can do this
e.g. Power Failure during RUU or pulling the USB plug during flashing

which is HTC's way of distributing updates via the pc, also you will find a list of most of the RUU's available for this rom in the development forum (it's a sticky) which will help you revert to stock.

Ok so for someone like you who is new to kernels let me put it this way, Titanium kernel enables your phone's processor to perform faster or slower than in your stock, to customize the speed you have to use an external app.
i use this...

P.S: Overclocking too much is harmful for your phone so do not set it too high.
Repeatedly press power button when you fail to enter fastboot mode. If you do this, you are most likely to get a blank screen and QHSUSB_DLOAD error when you plug it into pc. if you get this error, your phone is hard brick and the only solution is phone replacement. To avoid this, you can install fast reboot or similar app as soon as your phone get rooted if you want to enter fastboot mode/recovery.
Better late than never, but never late is better.

Then power off the device and turn it on by pressing power + volume down

I don't have the "power options" option.
Nothing special happens when pressing power + volume down. It simply reacts to my pressing of the power button and offers me the usual shut down, reboot, silent, aeroplane mode etc.

You can use the adb to reboot to bootloader. Just go to terminal, cmd whatever, type "adb reboot bootloader".. And you can flash radio using fastboot command.. But you need to be s-off.. I am not sure whether it is possible to flash radio using shipped hboot. I think it is possible. But better to wait for glevitan to clear things up. :good:

I tried just loading hboot on its own to see what happened and when i load up the hboot it just says do I want to update radio v2 and I can't select yes (if that's what I should do?)

My advice is that you fix the volume rocker first. If you get stuck flashing a radio and your rocker is messed...then you might get stuck in the splash screen...
It broke a while ago. I bought a new rocker and glued it on. The glue set and stuck, disabling the up volume button only. I won't be able to fix this now I've ruined it!
I am not sure if anyone experience this but then again my phone is rooted. I was just browsing around the internet and it started heating up, next thing i know the phone just shutdown and all kind of error popout then it just hard reset by itself where I had to set all the stuff again. But after a while all those error kept popping out again and now I can't even do anything anymore.
Pretty much it just get stuck with HTC logo & beats now, I still can access the recovery menu. Trying to find the right RUU file and which I am not sure myself now where to download or what to download.
The phone CID is HTC_044, I remember using the latest update available and so on. Any idea what am I suppose to do now? I was looking at the nandroid copy from this thread and downloaded my but I have no idea how to use it

(Pretty much getting annoyed with this phone, I should have just use a custom rom rather then this unstable version of stock rom)
Here it is
http://bugsylawson.com/index.php/fi...24-radio-5120416229-release-296434-signedexe/
Phone in the bootloader and lock it
Fastboot oem lock
Keep the phone in the bootloader and execute the ruu from the pc with admin rights. Right click the ruu and select
Run as administrator

Installed back all my apps... now after did all those I try to sign into the htc friend steam and only to make the phone reboot. Like what is wrong with this phone
seems like it is stuck at the htc logo now... and back to square one. Should I claim for warranty?
This is the second time it factory reset by itself now, so like I don't think this is an software issue
Also I notice now I can't turn off the phone, it just restart and I get some error notification.
Warranty it is.....

I used One_X_All-In-One_Kit_v2.3 to lock back the boot, will I need to do anything else before I send for warranty? all my files are gone, seems like not only it hard reset but also deleted and created a new partition in the phone lol

Make sure its on stock firmware and stock recovery.
My pal sent his back with boot loader unlocked but all stock firmware and they repaired it.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
He used a ruu already so he is as stock as he can be.....

After noticing the overheat problem seems to be commen, I bought myself a S3 and might actually be happy with it. I mean like leedroid is no more around, htc service is not available in my state plus I got to wait like almost a month to get a board replacement or the whole phone. I am gonna sell it off lol.
Then again thanks a lot for the help :good: it made me choose wisely now.
Oke ...
CASE CLOSD !
Just wanted to inform the rest about my warranty status, finally got my phone back but.. it is being recond  I gave htc service center a call last Thursday and was inform that my phone was on the way back to my city. Best part was, the operator didn't know what did they do with it lol
Attached the repair report and seems like they even added a dent to my top left? I was using otterbox defender since I gotten this, not too sure how that dent was created but then should not have been around while i was on still using the phone before it just died on me. Then again a free hardware upgrade to 32gb for this phone sure did make me happy.
Not too sure what to do with this phone now, some how I don't feel like selling it so might just switch around with my sIII once in a while lol
