Hello guys ,
Does anyone knows of an alternative gold card image generator.

I have used it on HTC Desire for s-off and cwm after few other metods and everything worked just fine. There was no misconfig. Tried few custom roms after and every instalation was successful.
Doing this is always risky. One missed step and you can brick your phone. It is always good to know what you are doing when you do s-off (disabling nand), flashing bootloader, instaling cwm, etc. and offcourse carefuly read manual and follow steps.

Ok guys ,
Maybe you did not understand me. I am already rooted and s off.
Only thing I asked was is there any alternatives to gold card image generator like one from gold card create
tutorial which was on http://psas.revskills.de/?q=goldcard.
I need it because if I want back to stock or get into trouble with gold card I can flash WWE RUU.

[Q] Root do rly i need it?

Do I even need to root my Desire Z?
I rebooted to recovery and i was able to choose the "Apply update.zip"
So i can put the cwm.zip on the sd card rename it to update.zip and then i can flash a custom rom without even rooting the device?
If you don't root I believe you will get a bootloop.

No, you can't do like that. It just won't work or even worse, you can brick your device. Read the FAQ, that should clear up some things for you.

Aha even if you do that. It won't let you flash it since it doesn't match the system. There's many ways to root your phone. Do the Wiki/Gfree method by the way

You can't flash unsigned/self-signed ZIPs...the G2/DZ is a NAND locked device.
yup its a definite brick if you try to switch roms, you'll get a boot loop and and theres absolutely no way to go back
Rooting is quite easy on the G2/DZ. However whatever you do, do not try to perm root with visionary! Visionary is only needed to get the soft root, then you can use gfree to complete your permanent root.

Above thread is right. But I know u hav done some wrong method.
First u start the gold card tool and insert ur sd card through any memory card reader.(Run the application as Administrator)Then press refresh. It will show ur sd card in HTC MMC.Then press get cid.It will generate a code.Copy d code. Then open the website given in d tool in blue letter. In that site u will get a goldcard.img sent to ur email adress.download and save on desktop.Again on the tool press laod goldcard.img and hit PATHMMC.After this follow the instuction given in the above thread(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1132028).And done.Enjoy.......
U will get the gold card tool in the buzzdowngrade zip(http://www.multiupload.com/HRN3YFTX2T) .extract the entire zip on any folder. Then start.
Thnx All. Successfully downgraded. Actually i realise my mistake i was starting the Step2.bat as administrator which is not doing that trick...

[Q] HTC Screen after flashing Anything.

Rooted my desire yesterday S-offed and everything was working fine. I attempted to flash a custom Rom and now all I recieve in the HTC screen. I have tryed installing several roms and nothing works. I can get into the recovery with no issues. Just I cannot get into any roms. Any Magix fixes I can try? Or should I just Fastboot and start over?
Edit. Fastboot doesnt work. But I can get into the CWM Recovery. Which is also the newest version.
And you always followed installation guides for all roms carefully (like sd card) and flashed version that corresponds with your hboot?

Yup Followed everything. I have done this all on my incredible 100 times. So I am aware of the steps to get Roms going.
Wiped all user data?
I just had this briefly with a Desire PVT4, had forgotten to wipe all user data prior to flashnig ROM's...?

Naa. Everything was Whiped clean. Restore wont work either because of the MD5 sum being different?

Fastboot just has the bootloader option. Nothing for going back to stock. And were on the Stock HBOOT.
Correction Fastboot works just I cannot use it to go to stock. Is there any quick way to get to the stock image?

I didnt know that! I shall give it a try and update on here and thank you if it works. What is Alpha Rev? A Devoloper or something?
You basically they specialize in s off, and recovery images etc. What sort of ROMs are you using? Cm7r2 is best for most Roms on the desire atm

go here, pick a few, try them out. make sure you read the op and have correct hboot / sd-ext partition if required.
ask yourself what YOU want out of your rom, not what others tell you works for them...

I don't know what guides you followed but get used to reading the stickies that is where the useful information is located:

If you already unlocked the bootloader, then just flash a custom recovery and then Superuser.
Rooted now. How can I s-off ontop of root.

That is the only way to gain S-OFF right now. Why you need S-OFF btw?
No reason really, fastbooting the .img I'm simple. But s-off makes it a little easier

One thing I've noticed is that ky recovery does NOT restore backups. Md5 mismatch. Would this be a ad card problem or recovery its self. Tried flashing 4ext but needed s-off
