[Q] Delete Multiple Texts Witin a Thread? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

On the S3, S4 and the HTC One, you can check off boxes to simultaneously delete indiviual texts within a thread rather than deleting the individual messages one at a time.
Can you do this in the Note 2?

On the stock touchwiz sms app? Not sure.. I'm on aosp... But you can multi select messages within one thread in GoSMS and delete them.

Thanks

[Q] How can I send an sms to multiple receivers?

Hello,
Sorry if this question sounds a bit... dumb... but I cant find a way to send an sms to multiple recipients.
I come from sgs2 where i could select as many recipients from my contacts as I wanted but in galaxy nexus stock sms app I cant find a way to do that. I have to type the first letters and then my contacts appear.
Is there a way that i missed ??
I'm afraid there isn't any way to access your "list" of contacts and just check/uncheck boxes to send messages to that particular group of people. You have to type out their name/number in the "to" field. But I know a handful of 3rd party texting apps that allow you to do this, handcent comes to mind... GoSMS maybe?
Create a new sms then type some until you can Select one of the numbers, after that at the end of the number and name of the contact you will see a ", " touch the screen there and type some after the ", " and Select the second contact and so on, or download ex dialer wich have way more features and options than stock gapps, exdialer its free and works great thats what i use

Thanks for your replies guys. I've never used 3rd party sms/dialer programs but i'll do now.

[Q] [REQUEST] Stock Messaging Modification

Hello, I was wondering if someone could modify the stock messaging app to show both how many messages are unread in a thread as well as allow the character limit to exceed 160 but be split into separate text messages.
I have the Sprint CDMA version.
As far as I know, CDMA technology prevents the second thing you're asking for. Only possible on GSM, I remember some phones split the log messages and split them into shorter ones with page numbers.

There are alternative messaging apps that will split them for you. It isn't a limitation of CDMA.

The stock messaging app in aokp has this feature.

[Q] SMS App

Hi,
Coming from an iPhone background, I am finding the transition to this phone great!!!
One minor problem is group messages of 7 or more getting converted to MMS (as I found out to my expense). Is there an alternative SMS app that doesn't do this??
Go sms
Send from my Z1C using tapatalk
i use chomp sms
MySMS
MySMS is really great. Support different websms Provide, A perfect backup function and a lot more. Free Messages between Mysms users are also included...
Thanks for the replies :good:
I know this thread is a little old, but I remember that there was some hidden options in the SMS app on Gigerbread (3 Android version ago). One of them was whether or not you wanted to auto convert SMS messages longer than 160 characters to MMS. If your phone was rooted, you could edit an xml file to make this option appear so that you could check it.
In the same .xml file, you could actually set the numbers of character required for the auto convert to embark. I remember putting a crazy number.
In the end, on your phone it would still show as one huge message, but the recipient would receive multiple messages of 160 characters. Your phone would do the magic and send regular SMS instead of MMS.
If I can find the thread, I would link it, and then see if those options still works in KitKat on my rooted Z1c.
Check out sliding messaging. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smitten.slidingmms

Textra is hands down the best messaging app I've used. Try it out!
textra is a simplified version of chomp. i just like the more customisation that chomp offers

[Q] Default Exchange Email app questions

All,
I literally just got the LG G3 a couple of hours ago and in the process of configuring the phone. I have two questions in regards to the default Exchange email app:
- I have filtered incoming emails to to folders via rules. Can I view ALL emails by default instead of just the inbox? I used to have an HTC One M7 and it gave me an option of viewing ALL emails as default so I don't have to manually go to the subfolders.
- For some reason, when I get an incoming txt message, it goes to the default email app. I use Hangouts as my default SMS, it goes there, but it also shows up in the email app too? Any reason why?
Thanks for any info!
I actually didn't like the stock app at all so I sideloaded the most current Google (nexus) version. I just think it's cleaner/faster and has a better layout. If you want them...

Regarding sms; switch off sms sync in settings->accounts&sync->ms exchange->email settings->ms exchange account.....tick off sms sync!
