Ok I flashed cm7 rom doing the delete data/cache thing and it installed fine. My problem is that I could not get it to sync with google and their was no app for the android market so I couldn't download any apps. Is this rom suppose to download over the top of an existing rom without doing the delete data/cache thing?
Oh, I think I need to do the install goodle apps option during install. Why is that even an option?
Nope, I'm still stuck.
hi, im new to rooting. i've just rooted my desire with cyanogenmod 7, and the android market doesn't seem to work? i can't download google map or any other apps from it. any help? thanks alot.
any help? thanks
i guess you tried rebooting? that worked the last time I had problems with cyanogenmod, that being said i don't use it daily so I'm no expert
yup, i tried rebooting but it didn't work too..
Try wiping the cache, if that doesn't work, do a factory reset and wipe everything, do a fresh install and put gapps on.
does that mean i have to flash it back to stock rom and start all over again?
Have you tried to flash the G-apps again? Here's the link of the newest one: Google apps choose the CyanogenMod 7 (Gingerbread) version and flash it with Rom Manager or Recovery.
have you modified the .zip file , deleting some files for exemple?
I done it, and removed "Package Installer.apk" one time, so downloads were beginning but stopped each time immediately
Market download issues
I'm having similar issues using GingerVillain 1.9. Small market updates are downloading without issue, larger ones such as the latest Google Maps update are giving the message "download unsuccessful". I had similar issues when the market was updated from the old style, and wonder whether google are tinkering in the background.

i don't think i've removed any of those files..
I am having similar problems. I have installed the gapps, but it only installs a couple of google apps. When I try to install from the market some install fine but others (angry birds for example) don't. I see the downloading icon for split second then it goes away and the download stops.
Any ideas?

Hey there! So I have a Kindle Fire that I just rooted with the method shown here; http://rootkindlefire.com/kindle-fire-root/how-to-root-kindle-fire-6-3-1/
It worked like a champ. I then went ahead and made a backup of my stock rom. After that I installed the ICS ROM on the Kindle using the TWRP recovery and this zip; http://rootkindlefire.com/kindle-fi...an-rom-for-kindle-fire-best-romandroid-4-1-2/
Anyway, everything is rad with it, but I am now unable to install the Google Play Store onto my Kindle. I tried to boot into recovery then install the ZIP for the Play Store (called "market-framework.zip") but it just says "error flashing zip". Anyone know what I can do to make this work? Or do I need to go back to stock, install Play Store, THEN flash the ICS ROM? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Flash in recovery
Thanks for the reply. My device isn't on the list in that link and i don't think the ROM I installed is from Cyanogen, but maybe I'm wrong. Also all that says it's for the GB OS and I'm on ICS. So will it still work?

Hi, I rooted my SM-N9002 using the cfroot file in a recent post.
How do I go about adding Google Apps to my device? Realized after buying the phone that it didn't have any Google services. I booted into the stock recovery and tried to install the Google Apps zip file which I used for Cyanogenmod on my Note2 but that didn't work. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Same problem here, No market and no App store
Strange how samsung launch this model without it?
Has anyone been successful in flashing GApps on KitKat Note 3 Duos? Mine came with PS (probably the Russian SVA ROM), but I flashed the Chinese KitKat right away and can't get Play Store in any way now.
Get Open GApps Pico (no other will fit in size!) and flash it via recovery.
I am currently using cm-11 on my Xperia M. Few days ago I uninstalled the stock gallery app and installed the sony album app instead. But I recently found that without the stock gallery app, I am unable to set the wallpapers, edit images etc. I tried to install the stock gallery app from the .apk file but it didn't install. Is there anyway to install it back and fix the issue? Or is flashing the rom again, the only option? Also, if I flash it again(install .zip from cwm recovery), will I lose all my data or will it just upgrade the apps without deleting all my data?
i think you could just flash again and it will upgrade and give you the app back
