I tried trial access then it asked me for full address and phone number so I entered everything from Empire State Building lol. After it went through and got it activated, I went back to Google wallet after I turned off my VPN. I changed back my address to the UK and now everything works just fine, your payment will also go through
It works, you just have to change your credit card adress to an america adress zip code and phone number so that google wallet will accept it even if your credit card is not an america one. Tthen activate it and change it back to your own adress and it works flawless.
Don't know if the payment will work at the end of the month. Just have to wait till 31th of July.
I signed up in the UK, using a US address on my UK card the day they announced it.... They've taken payments fine and it's all still working very well
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
All access is working fine ! Though I can't buy songs from Google play ! Error BB PP MM 20 ! from India BTW
Thanks!
I am going to wait for the official launch as my bank (Natwest) is charging me £1 when the payment comes out because it's in US Dollars..

Is it possible? i have a friend that should be int the sates on October and i want him to buy it from the AT&T store, but can he buy it without any contract or a sim card?
if not is there any other way? i don't want to buy it directly and ship it to my country cos the taxes here will make the purchase unjustified (will add more the 125$ not including the shipment).
Yes, you can buy any phone that AT&T sales in stores without a contact.....except the iPhone. Currently the off contract of the Captivate Glide is $500 though from AT&T
If I helped you, please press the Thanks button

Or via amazonwireless.com
(ps. I hit thanks by accident on your message and i don't know how to remove it!)
I bought mine from Amazon Wireless, as phone only (phone upgrade), $ 399, and then unlock with an on-line service ($ 25).
the problem wit amazonwireless for me is that i need to have a US adress, there is a service for that but the charge an arm and a leg.
plus the taxes to import the phone makes it unwise to buy it online. i need to cheack with the customs again, maybe (if buddha will premit) there wont be import taxes on this phone (VAT will probley will be but its low amount).
I live in Europe and went to US in March and a tried to buy this phone in a AT&T Store and it was not possible. Even to buy the phone without contract they require a contract plan. I did buy the phone thru ebay later. I would suggest you the same if you have access to US address.

Do you mind telling us how much you paid without shipping then how much was shipping. Just to give others an idea on what they can get via eBay?

The phone itself has cost $389,99 and international USPS Express shipping was $44,99. This was quite cheap compared to the $600 (+ shipping) on Amazonwireless back then.
Btw. If any German is interested in the taxes I had to pay: It was about 63€ (~19%)
now days the glide cost 400 dollors via amazonwireless and the shiping in the staes is free.
i think i got lucky cos i have a friend that is gona visit is family in the states sooner then expected and he agreed that i will ship this to his family house, and he will bring it to me when he come back. so i can get away from shiping and taxes via customes.
yeah ebay its the only place to buy a phone anymore, altho some pawnshops will cut good deals. seems 300 for a new or refurbished phone on ebay is the going rate & most folks dont mind shipping outa country.
helpslip is there a problem buying from amazonwireless if i ship it in the US?
i can arrange a frined living there to get my package, dont know if he have AT&T service and actualy don't care only want the phone with no contract.
i wouldnt think so altho i have zero 1st hand experience w/ amazonwireless, if its ran the same way as amazon your purchasing from an independent seller sometimes just a dood w/ a garage no different than ebay & ebay now has 30 day buyer protection so they refund price & shipping (& return shipping if needed) if something doesnt arrive or doesnt work etc... ive even been refunded after more than a year for an item that didnt arrive from australia (to usa) altho i keep in contact w/ seller through ebay so they could verify a problem.
damn i sound like a shill for ebay sorry.
now i got confused. i saw that i can buy from amazon wireless an locked phonw with or without a contract and also from amazon.com itself that its seems sells from independet seller (like the market). whoshould i choose? at least i have some time to think about it cos my firned will be in the states in a month from now.
I bought from Amazon Wireless, which is Amazon direct. They will sell you a locked phone without contract.
When I bought it, it used to be wrongly labled as "unlocked" I contacted them and they offered a full refund. Since I'm in the UAE I didn't want that, just an unlock code, to which they said they can't help me with that. So I ended up unlocking from AmericanUnlocker.
I prefer to buy direct, in this case it would be Amazon Wireless, that'll help with returns.
thank incidentflux you made my choice clearer. i will buy it from amazon wireless direct. also the delivery is free and will take 2-3 days to my friend's door.
unfourtuntly it will take a while until i will get it, hope ics will be out by then and if not the inc3ption rom will be a great choise
Glad to help. Yes shipping is free as well. But the smartphone will still be locked to AT&T by the way, which is an inconvenience.
I also ordered the SanDisk 64GB MicroSDXC

It all depends on the credit card. I use a parcel service the billing is different then shipping and I have many purchases from amazon. Capital One is confirmed working. My PC master card I had to go through a verification process.
Can I get a card with USA billing address from Capital One ?

I'm not sure. Only way to find out is to try sorry
Simple solution is to get a virtual debit card and attach any US billing address to it. That way you don't have to bother with mail forwarding since they won't even send a card out.
I have never noticed it make any difference what company the card is with. As long as it is branded with one of amazon's accepted payment methods, and has an address. I have used prepaid greendot cards to verify billing address.
maybe something like usunlocked.com would do the trick for you. I have never used them and am not affiliated, but they claim to offer a Visa branded card that works with amazon
Ok so I pre ordered the second it went live and my order went through for 32GB carbon 5x and it didn't charge me tax. BUT I had to cancel it because it was shipping to my old address which I forgot to change.... So I called google and they said I would have to cancel the whole order, so I did and re ordered then it was like 4 hours since it went live and then it showed me having to pay $40~ tax.
If I didn't cancel my first order would my order go through and I would not have to pay tax? or would it be the same either way? Did anyone else get a pre order without tax?

It all depends in which state you live in. I will being typing my experience with two products from the Google Store
First off, I live in a state where tax is not charged when ordering from Google. So when the Huawei Watch was up to order from the Google Store, I bought it and was not charged tax. I bought the Nexus 5X a couple of weeks later and got charged tax. I was wondering why, but didn't look into it further. Then, I remembered I did not get taxed for the Watch so I tried adding the Watch to my cart and checking out to see if I would get taxed, and I did. I looked at https://support.google.com/store/answer/6160272?hl=en and saw my state not being listed, thus I shouldn't be taxed. I contacted Store support and they confirmed I was not supposed to get taxed. They told me to contact them again once my product ships out so I can be refunded the tax.
TL;DR Possibly a system error. Contact Google

Ahh I see, I think there was an error the first time and didn't charge me. But I live in California which they do tax, and the old address was in california as well. I could have saved $40 :crying:
Hi. I was thinking about ordering a 5t.
Anyone in Ontario order one? Can you tell me how much you paid total for shipment and customs?
Thanks.
There isn't customs.
Use the 10% student discount. Brings it down to around $740 tax in.

Same story. But ordered two phones. They were delivered from California for less than 24 hours by DHL express.
Although I have not ordered any special shipping service.
The 128gb? How can I use the student discount?
I'm not a student
I'm very interested too, is anybody want to share their student discount ?

There is nothing to share.
Just register here
https://www.studentbeans.com/student-discount/us/oneplus
and you will get the personal discount code that will be valid for one month.
But do not use gmail when you register, try to use something else.
PS.
I also came from my good old Nexus 6 to OP5T
I still think Nexus 6 the best Google phone ever made. Had zero issues with it for 3 years.
I'm not a student so I cant buy it with the discount ( or there's another way? ) anyone o had bought it without the discount can share how much has paid?
Thanks in advance
I bought mine on the release day and received it on Black Friday (which is no special day in Canada). Paid about $740, used a referral code from a friend.
Very happy with it. It works perfectly on Public Mobile (which doesn't sell phones and expects you to have one unlocked, though Telus-locked phones will work).
IIRC there was only one shipping choice, DHL (yuk) and the phone shipped from California HST-paid so it didn't stop at customs.
Like many i tried to purchase P6P via Google through klarna ,as we know klarna got it wrong and only approved credit for less than the price of the phone and so no one who would got the finance could purchase it. In the end I got it via Currys and I contacted klana to cancel my contract and remove it from my credit record. They have done this and now sent me an email with a £20 Amazon voucher as a way of apology....so check your emails.
yea got the same email however i havent asked to cancel the account with them yet. I was about to buy some earbuds on amazon so the £20 will be of use.
Same here. I bought out right in the end from Google but the whole thing was a bit of a joke. £20 voucher anyway and account still open so far. Not sure what if everything the situation has in credit score.

My email stated the credit check would be removed from the records by the end of the year so it shouldn't have any bearing on your credit score.
