[Q] Kindle Fire 2 (10.3.1) unroots itself - Kindle Fire 2 Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting

Sorry if this has been asked already, have a Kindle Fire 2 and I rooted it just fine using This Thread But recently it has been automatically unrooting itself a few days after I root it again. Is there anyway to make it stay rooted?
Thanks!

Are you sure you are not receiving updates? Try renaming the otacerts.zip file

It's possible, but it would have to be updating a lot which is why I didn't think that was why. I'll try that though and see if it comes unrooted again, thanks!

Anyway to completely stop a system update?

I got notified with one and I dont want to update anything in fear of it killing the good wifi calling I get with the phone now.
I can only postpone it for 1 day , and I have to keep doing that every day. Is there a way to completely stop it
Download titanium backup from playstore and then freeze Device manager.

You'd have to get root access first, if you're not yet rooted.

Then you can try this. Root the phone. Then freeze it, then unroot the phone again. By using many of our unroot programs such as Unlock Root from here : http://www.androidauthority.com/how-to-root-any-android-device-using-unlock-root-41984/

[Q] SkyGo Rooted Device

Has anyone managed to get Sky Go working on a rooted device? The work around for other phones seems to use OTA Rootkeeper but that app states:
Useless with: Samsung Phones updated via KIES or Odin.
Surely we all rooted with Odin?
Has anyone got it working?
Big +1 on this.
Rootkeeper does not work.
Even tried unrooting completely permanent, deleted everything sky related via file explorer, the app still comes back "does not work on rooted devices"
Anyone at all got this to work?
same if you hide with with supersu. How do we fix this?

Weird problem, please help.

I bought my note 2 directly frome a T Mobile store. I've never rooted my phone. But when I try to upgrade to the new version, it's said my phone has been modified. Please help me to fix this, anyone?

But when I use Root Checker, it said my phone is not properly rooted. What does that mean?

Did you install the ExynosAbuse apk ? This will root your phone and possibly show up as modified.
No I didn't. I tried it via Kies but it still failed. I am resetting to manufacturer setting. Will see what happens next.

Is there an update.zip?

Is there an update.zip I can use to root my phone from stock recovery? Iv had my phone for 3 weeks, and havent been able to sit still enough to root it with the computer. I know that it has been asked if you can root without computer and the answer was no. Was just curious if it was possible for someone to make an update.zip for people like me

Using an update.zip to flash in recovery would almost be like rooting without a computer.... wouldn't it?
Yes, it would be rooting without a computer. But im wanting to know if someone is able to make one? Or is it not possible?
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
the update.zip would need to be signed by Samsung to be flashed through the stock recovery...
Will never happen...
Sorry about that but you need a computer in order to root.. unless an app exists if their is a vulnerability in the stock rom.

Well, do you want a custom ROM, or do you want 100% unrooted stock without custom recovery or 2nd bootloader, because those are your two options.
I can't find a stock ROM compatible with twrp, just side load cm onto it and install it again, or use kffa to restore stock amazon os. I think restoring stock will get rid of twrp though just a heads up.

There are no stock KF ROMs for the KF2, there are only CM, PA or AOSP based ROMs. Flashing the stock update from Amazon will get rid of everything, including root, TWRP, and the 2nd bootloader.
So what would you rather have?
I want to go back to stock plz I tried flashing a bin 10.2.6 and renamed it as a zip but I get a error but I still have twrp and side loading but yes I want to go back to stock plz I have no os btw

Download the Kindle Fire 2 software update from Amazon
Rename it from update-blah-blah.bin to update-blah-blah.zip
Push it to your device
Factory reset!!!
Flash in recovery and reboot.
So download update file from Amazon and rename it as a zip OK good I'll try that but will I get a red screen btw that's why I want 10.2.6 so it will update and won't get red screen
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
Red screen is completely avoidable on an os higher than that, u just have to downgrade the bootloader first.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire HD running CM10.1 Tablet UI using xda-developers app
OK im gona try it in a bit so if I flashed that I won't get red screen because Installed twrp before that red screen update 10.4.6 or something like that. But I do have 10.2.6 bin file now gonna push it now

The update will replace the bootloader, recovery boot and system partitions with pure stock, so there's little chance of bricking...unless you forget to factory reset.
So factory rest now and then flash OK btw what will happiness if I don't do a factory reset and should I wipe cashe and davlick cashe and system

OK I have the file and also what's the difference of side loading I that no its the same thing
