[q] any one tell me : Lt28i or lt28h...??? - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

What's Difference Between LT28I & LT28H...?
And Can Flash Firmware OF LT28I ON LT28H...???

There is a hardware difference as the LT28h, also known as the Xperia Ion HSPA, is a GSM/3G phone, where as the LT28i, also known as the Xperia Ion LTE, is a 4G phone, in addition to being a GSM/3G phone.

both are absolutely same hardware exept d LTE capability(Lt 28i) ....so u can very well find out by urself....(Lt 28h has more battery hours coz of bieng "non-LTE"

Lt28i would provide better mobile signals and faster internet data speeds as it supports 4G. Go for that.

mobile signals are not a big problm these days.......nd a 1900 mah battery is seriously lacking a gud backup for the lt28i......i think Lt 28h handles that pretty cool wid all d pros of ION.

Yup, and vice versa. Hell you can even flash the lt28at firmware (at&t's firmware for USA ION).
I have a LT28at ion and have flashed both lt28h and i firmwares without any issues.

I believe there are some different 3G bands between the models.
Check the Sony white papers @ Sony web for the LT28 Ion for the differences

How to tell which version of the Arc I have?

Hi guys,
My mate gave me his Arc recently cause the digitizer is screwed, so I have ordered a new screen and digitizer, but when I get the screen fixed I will want to flash a custom ROM and give the phone to my sister to replace her aging Optimus one. I am not sure what version of the Arc I have though and my mate is useless.
What is the best way to tell which version I actually have. I don't want to screw up this phone and I have not worked on a Sony Ericsson mobile before. Only HTC and Samsung and a bit on Motorola.

Go to setting and at the bottom at "about phone"
Under Model info
Arc S is LT18
Arc is LT15
Under the battery too
EDIT: most ROM will work on both Arc and Arc S

"
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 900 / 2100 - LT15i
HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 / 800 - LT15a
"
Thanks for the help people!!! Now to find a ROM which is as close to AOSP as possible with everything working!!! Might try CM9 on it when the screen arrives.
JJ's Hybrid ROM, is rather stripped back and very nice

Sony released Xperia ION with ICS in France:

Same spec as the L28h in which is release with ICS.

I wonder if we us on GB can flash the firmware?
Sent from my LT28i using xda app-developers app
It probably won't have the radio for LTE since the lt28h is a hspa phone only.
Sony phones have great designs but seems like they are held back because there is next to nothing for software updates and no 3rd party ROMs.
nsrksh hath
It was'nt released yet.
Don't matter any more since we found out the LT28h can be flashed on the LT28i and LT28at without the baseband and you will keep LTE.

getting LTE

can any xperia ION be able to get LTE by flashing the gb firmware?
just the baseband is all thats required from GB firmware. and yes all ion's. sans the lt28h it's hsdpa only

Interesting, I didn't know that the LT28 was a "Verizon Wireless-Certified 4G device". So I went to verify the LT28's compatibility on the verizon site using my IMEI and Serial #, both came up as invalid.
Can you provide the information that you've determined it can be used on the Verizon network?

Verizon is CDMA not GSM and as such doesn't use a sim.

Mostly true, but apparently Verizon does have some sim/gsm (I think voice only) phones but they are far and few. According to their site it has to be a "Verizon certified 4G device", and the Lt28 is not (and probably not any off Verizon phone either).

LTE for Sony Xperia Ion LT 28i

Tell me please, is there a way to use my phone LT 28i in Russian networks? I will clarify the issue. Setting up the modem for LTE through software or does it depend on the model of the modem? Can I get the software from any model that works in Russian networks for use in Ion?
Ok, I will ask anyway. From what device I can copy the files that are responsible for its LTE modem on Ion? As these files are named and where they are?
Surely no one is trying to do?
I think the LT28i doesn't have a LTE modem. Only the AT&T model.

Incorrect the LT28i has LTE built in and the firmware supports it out of the box. It all depends on what LTE network bands your carrier uses and whether the phone supports those bands.

Oh. Interesting. I thought the other Ion models (the ones that not At&T) ones "only" had HSPDA+. Nice to know.

Thank you for your response. But my question remains. Which model can I get drivers for LTE in Russia, where they are and how to call them? Can I install the drivers from another phone model? Suppose LG? Or from the Sony Xperia Z? Can anyone tell where the files are and how to get it from the firmware Z? Or put on sharing with installation instructions.

There aren't drivers. The phone only supports ccertain frequencies. Look at the specs for it then look at what frequencies your carrier uses.

In my opinion, you're wrong. Now I will wait for the new XTX for Ion. It will be based, as I understand, the firmware on the Z. And Z supports LTE in Russia. We'll see. )))

It isn't software only. If it was like that, we'd have many and many phones with worldwide LTE. The hardware also needs to support the frequencies. It's like saying that a change of drivers would make a Bluetooth device work as a radio, which uses other frequencies.
