APP Google Play Music All Access - One (M7) Themes and Apps

So I signed up for this new service and its awesome. Way better then pandora and other music apps. Especially with the ONE's sounds, perfect app to take advantage for any music lover. Anyone else plan on taking advantage of this or already sign up for it?

Cool.
Heard about this last night.
I have a couple of questions.
So, I know there is a spotify element to it, with subscription and all.
But the "your music uploaded" that you can stream/listen to on the move, is this part free? or part of the subscription?
Sorry if that sounds a bit "window lickers special"
Cheers

If you choose to use Google play music without the subscription, you can upload 50,000 songs to their cloud and stream it to your device as much as you'd like. The all access just gives you similar features to Spotify and Mog... Options to download music to the device and custom artist radio stations etc... I signed up for all access, created a 30 songs playlist, and went on a 5 mile run today... Totally worth it Imo. Especially with the HTC One.

The limit is actually 20,000 songs. A friend of mine ran into that uploading his library yesterday after the announcement.

Yes the limit for uploads is 20,000 and that is not at all a new feature. All Access is just the payed subscription portion which adds functionality like internet radio with on-demand as well, similar to slackr, spotify and mog.

Signed up myself so far I'm impressed. Little disappointed in the classic rock options but everything else is great. Just kind of wish there a quick widget button to enable or disable beats it's really not meant for all songs
my One sent this

I signed up for it the day I could; just to test it. I figure it's a free trial, why not.
Well; I'm keeping it for sure.
I always have to cut some music out, because I stay really close to the 20k limit; and I've tried other services, but when I am out and about I hate switching apps. This just makes life so much easier. From what I can tell, they have a really good catalog to choose from for me; from hardcore, to pop-punk, to hip-hop to dubstep. I've really enjoyed it the past few days and I am definitely keeping it.
It's a unified solution, that in my opinion, hits the nail on the head. The new UI is fantastic as well, I love what Google is doing!
If you haven't tried it, I definitely recommend it!

I want to try it out... but it's not out in Canada : (

[Q] How to force EVO to treat 4G as wifi for apps that works wifi only?

I have few apps that are restricted to work on wifi only.
Since 4G is unlimited and same fast as DSL (in my case) I'm looking for a solution to go around wifi only restriction.
Couldn't find any app that would do that.
Thanks for your help
x2......yea my friends who own that other phone by the rotten apple always throwing that app they have that tricks the phone into thinking its on wifi so they can do facetime as they call it
I have been trying to find the answer to this question myself. This is probably the only thing I have not seen on the android side that iphone was all over. There must be a solution to running WiFi only apps via 3G/4G.
What apps only work on WiFi? I've never seen one yet. (not that they don't exist, just curious) You may want to talk to the developers, seeing as any app is allowed to use 3G/4G by default.
Nova is what I was referring to. It's a gameloft title. The game is set up to allow for multiplayer marches via WiFi. But with 3g unrestrictor on the iPhone you could play via 3g. It was pretty sweet to drop some head shots while sitting in lax or dulles how do suggest I propose this functionality to the developers?

also uploading to Youtube can only be done on Wifi
Evidently Grooveshark vip has this problem with hq songs as well. I knew I shouldn't have paid $30 for an app. I miss my 3g Unrestrictor.

The $30 is actually dirt cheap. It's a music streaming app with a library of about 22 million songs. The $30 is for an annual membership.
By comparison that's 3 months (or 2 for multiple devices) worth of Rhapsody which has 10 million songs. Although I have used Rhapsody and there are pros and cons to each. Rhapsody has more organized search results, but Grooveshark allows you to search other users playlists, which is where I am finding a lot of new great music.
Overall the amount of music you can find and the overall interface on Grooveshark is better. But I'm learning now that it's quite buggy in this latest 2.08 revision. I'm hoping for a quick move to 2.09 and hoping they add scrobbling to last.fm like their desktop/laptop version does.
Overall though it's awesome to have so much music on demand at all times.
^^ so you paid $30 for a membership to an app because the library of songs is bigger? so how long would it take you to listen to 22 million songs as opposed to 10 million?

I loved the band "The Grays". Grooveshark had it, Rhapsody did not. I've noticed that for many other bands/acts and radio station releases too. 22 million means they're more likely to have what you want to hear.

Good for you. My cable is flakey and for some reason dyndns keeps dropping out on my NAS. Believe me when I say I tried to go a similar route. But I don't want to leave my computer always on (thus the NAS) and I'm lazy and my music collection is a MESS! What's an id3 tag anyway. But really I like the radio function. Its like having Pandora rolled into it. And I love searching through other people's music collection. It's like the old school days of going to Top 10 Records, except everything is paid for already! I like.

To get back on topic, is there really no CDMA 3G workaround to fool Sprint and Grooveshark (or the EVO itself) into thinking you are on wifi when you are only using 3g?
This is an age old problem that bad programmers always tend to implement. If a feature, method, resources may not exist one should check for what may be missing without assumption. In this case they have assumed that anything but wifi has enough bandwidth (resource) when it could obviously be incorrect.

Most Gameloft games, (and HD ones especially) can only be bought straight through Gameloft's site. Its not too bad. Nova is $5 for the HD version (read: the kind that runs on the Evo). You could have it billed through Sprint if you look for their wap-like apk file. Definitely look up Let's Golf 3d. Its free for us Evo users . That's how I got their gateway apk, which takes you to the mobile store and you can buy games on your Sprint bill.
Nova is a fun game, but its usually buggy over wifi, so I never thought to try it on anything slower. Now that you mention it, all the Gameloft games require wifi, huh? I hate those kinds of restrictions. I wish you all luck in finding a 3G unrestrictor.
Any luck?
I'm freakin dying to play Modern Combat 4 online with 4G on my Galaxy S3!! Has anybody figured this mod out yet? I'm willing to rewrite and modify some code for this one you guys! And also, if iphones can run android, why can't Androids run iOS???? Is I possible?
iPhones can't run android....the system itself it different
Maybe iPhones can run android on an emulator, but that's completely different. Android on iOS is like trying to run a desktop EXE on your Android. Two completely different architectures.

Widows desktop EXE IS possible on Android!
Android is a very open source OS and can be modified create custom ROMS and install other Operating systems.
Such as: Windows Mobile, Windows RT, Windows XP, Full Ubuntu OS, and Ubuntu Mobile (coming soon)
Here is a post on an HTC HD2 running on Windows RT:
http://www.xda-developers.com/windows-mobile/htc-hd2-refuses-to-die-now-runs-windows-rt/
Here is another link to a tutorial on how to install and run Wimdows XP on Android:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUE-gJmcGKk
Here's another tutorial on bow to install the full Ubuntu OS on android:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4d_diU7i7Z0
Here is a heavily modified custom iOS ROM running on an Android phone:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LrVLMyINhk
And also, here is a video on some Chinese guy running iOS on an old HTC Android Phone:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IOEqpJtr_E
But finally, here is a link to a page that some guys are making this project called iEmu and are cooking up an emulator boot loader that will boot iOS on different devices.
http://m.geek.com/geekdotcom/#!/ent...un-ios-on-android-or,4e668d9bd298d13d03000004
So IT IS yet to be possible (if the iEmu project succeeds) to run (or emulate) iOS on an Android devices sir. But back to question A:
Is Modern Combat 4 online over 4G possible yet?????

[Q] The best true (non-cloud) audio streaming apps?

Hello all,
In light of the recent congressional events regarding ("shhhh") downloaded music, I am now in the wanting to play it safe mode. At my age I have more too loose.
What I'm looking for is the best home to phone streaming app that does not also utilize web based streaming like Audiogalaxy and Subsonic. I am now using both of these but would like to see if there are any alternatives which...shall we say...'are more private'. Simply an app that does not require any website registration but only needs ones own IP to access music.
I would also welcome discussion on the legalities of steaming already downloaded music (home to phone).
Thanks for any thoughts on this topic.
Edit: Now trying Gmote. Can anyone recommend a better one?
Just use Grooveshark.
if you have a daap server at home, say itunes or WDLXTV firmware, there is a simple daap client in the market that works well

Thanks for the reply. After trying Gmote for a couple of days I've decided to ditch it. It tends to start/stop too much on a 3g network, and the UI is horrid. The daap server sounds interesting. If you could recommend one that will work on either XP or W7 I'll try that...assuming there is such an animal.
Is there any app to stream live radios station ?
I move from WM to Android, and I would like to know if there is any app to stream live radio station Wm normally use WMP, but android doesn't support Wmp
please if some one know something about it point me to the right direction.
there are ways to use VLC to do it.

Not yet, have looked that one over a bit. Gmote lags too much on 3g so I'll try Homepipe next. Oh yea, and my Bucs almost came back on your Ravens last Sunday. If only Freeman had started his "famous" quick offense earlier.
@dsuare021979 For music streaming try:
Pandora (unlimited access is 36/year but has the best quality sound IMO.
A Online Radio (the "A" is part of the app name)
iheartradio
Last.fm
Thank you for the help, but none of them work with the radio station I normally stream
MEGA 97.9 NY. I hope we get an app like wmp soon.

Checked into Homepipe a bit more closely and it's another type that requires a website registration, which is what I'm trying to avoid. Gmote is what I'm looking for, but it's too buggy for me. Guess I'll keep looking but use Audiogalaxy in the meantime. I like Subsonic but on the EVO it has a tendency to repeat the first song all the time. Anyway, thanks for the input.
Just a question to see if you know something that I don't... if you go through and Retag all of your mp3s there should be no real way to see where they came from... ripped from your own cds or otherwise.... at least that's my opinion. But maybe you know something that I don't?

My only experience with re-tagging is to get the files to look right in Audiogalaxy. I collect alot of "Greatest Hits" albums and most of the tracks each have their own album tag. I wish I knew the answer to your question for my own benefit. Anyone else?

Is it possible yet to put music without Zune?

Anyone know?
Maybe, I think the music folders shows up once you use that mass storage hack but its been advise that you shouldn't do that.
But then again, there's nothing wrong with zune. Easy and automatic syncing of pic/music/videos/movies/podcast. I've been using it since 1.0 and it pretty good, I will never go back to drag&drop. Don't have to go diving to folders for a certain file to drop, just open the software and drap and drop it, or let it sync automatically.
I wonder if Drop Box would work for music. I don't see why not, just you would have to pay because they only give you 2GB for free.
And video files? Im thinking of getting the focus, coming from Android.
What's with all these weird questions?
Zune is the music and video player for personal collections.
It also handles podcasts.
Dropbox won't be playing music for you. Since when was that a dropbox feature?
Do some research please. Search the forums as well as they have a wealth of knowledge.
Asking questions like this means you were too lazy to bother with research as this has been well known for a very, very long time.

This is a key problem with WP7 so the question will be asked until WP7 is fixed.
The current answer is, this can be done via a hack but is not guaranteed to work, and the resulting music is restricted to limited protocols: cannot be accessed as files by WP7 software and afaik cannot be organized by folders.

[APP] CloudMuzik - Google Music Player v1.5 Update in Marketplace

Hello everyone,
CloudMuzik.
EDIT: 6/21/2013
Hard to believe it's been over a year since I've put this app out into the marketplace. NOW... I present to you.. v1.5! Those of you still using the app should have received an update, if not.. Go to the marketplace and grab it!
EDIT: 6/3/2012
CloudMuzik v1.2 is in the Marketplace. As of today it will still be propogating, but by the next day it should fully be out so look for the update notification.
EDIT: 4/13/2012
After running into some issues with pushing the update, it's finally here! For those who have the crashing first version, go to the Marketplace and update manually if you haven't received the update Notification
EDIT: 3/17/12
FINALLY we're in the Marketplace. I want to thank everyone who has contributed to testing this application. It's come a long way since the initial beta.
CloudMuzik
EDIT: 12/21/11
The slots are now closed so that I can focus on fixing things and preparation. Thanks for testing!
EDIT: 12/13/11
More private slots have opened up. Feel free to PM!
EDIT: 12/5/11
Fixed the glitch I found which means the new beta build is coming VERY soon! Sorry it's taking a while.. I had to restructure my whole data structure to truly support 15000+ song libraries. Caching the library is a pain, but is needed. More updates coming soon.
I want to thank everyone who has supported this project again. I will do my best not to let you guys down!
[/CODE]
CloudMuzik is a Google Music player made to work specifically for WP7 phones. I got tired of trying to listen to Google Music through the browser since the interface is ugly and it doesn't know how to switch to different tracks while locked.
I want to give a big thanks to Marvin_S and sensboston
If it wasn't for them, I would be adding unnecessary complexity .
Thanks,

Features for CloudMuzik Beta
Max 1000 songs
Search for individual song, artist or album
Album Art accompanied with song if it exists
Seeking through songs
Shuffling (Everyday I'm shuffling xD)
Background Music aware
There also MAY be future functionality to stream music from other sources, but that can't be guaranteed.
With this said, my good friend Marvin_S will be handling the music playing interface in the end. The first beta interface will not be the final one.
I want to give a big thanks to Marvin_S and sensboston

NOTE:
I will edit this post to indicate when the beta is ready. It will be on a per request basis as we will need time to work out issues that may arise and prepare for the Marketplace.

Sigh.. Well everyone I'll have to push the release back a few days due to being very busy at work. Good news is that I have the basic functionality in regards to retrieving the music and playing it. I have to make the functionality for searching and browsing and the beta will be ready. Please be patient. I will post a few screenshots tomorrow to show progress. =)

Another update:
It's looking pretty good in terms of functionality. There WILL be a weird bug in terms of background images per song (Yes, I made it look like the Zune music player that displays an artist in the background as the song is playing). Other than that, I'm working on cleaning up a few things and adding some searching functionality. It will be out tonight!
As I've listed in the initial post. This will be on a per request basis (private beta).
More to come tonight!
EDIT:
Sigh.. after a fun Halloween party last night, I wasn't too keen on working hehe. It will be delayed a day, BUT BUT BUTTTTTT I have something good. A few screenshots of the music player to hold you over.

Why is it so difficult to implement equalizer settings in any music app in windows? I mean why we don't have equalizers in any app in whole of the marketplace? Does windows phone not have apis for this?

The same frustration I thought once I saw there was no equalizer built into the zune player. Although there's that nice equalizer for the HTC phones.. everything has to be built from scratch. I don't know for sure if it's even possible to make an equalizer without using the phone's native drivers. I'm assuming it could be possible using MediaStreamSource, but then again that requires an intense understanding on how to modify the sound to that extent. :-\.

well this would involve decomposing the mp3 file, altering the appropriate bytes and than send them sample by sample back into media stream source or something a like. And is possible (technically) with wav files with DSP API, where you can pump in raw wav audio buffers, but with mp3 i think this conversion would be to cpu intensive/slow that its not possible and more importantly not worth the time to implement. You would basically have to code an mp3 codec in c# (correct me if im wrong, but I belive this would be the only way).
Snickler please check your email since i have today applied for your private beta testing by request!
Looking forward to hear from you soon!

OfficeSuite Pro 7 - Two Thumbs Up!

I keep a personal journal and really value using my N7 for quick entries. I do have other word processing tasks, but my journal is the high-frequency doc for me. Since the journal is now approaching 50 pages - it covers many years - I don't keep it in a "notes" app like Catch or Evernote. I like using Word for docs like this.
So, when I got my N7 I looked around for a good "Office" type app. Kingsoft Office rose to the top real quick since it's free. OfficeSuite is highly-regarded, but it costs $14.99, and I decided not to spend the money.
I've been using Kingsoft for two months now and man, does it suck. I realize that there are plenty of good reviews for that app, but those users may not be using it as frequently as me, or maybe they are working with 1-pagers. Otherwise, anyone really using Kingsoft has to run into the same crappy unstable and unpredictable behavior that I've been living with - it's so pervasive in this app. One frustrating example is the backspace function. It might do nothing, it might delete a letter, or a word or a sentence or a bunch of sentences. Then, when you begin to type the words back in that it deleted, the app will begin to toss in some parts of the words it deleted. The app doesn't reliably call the keyboard when you tap in the doc. There's more to dislike, but I'll just stop there. The Devs are totally non-responsive, BTW.
In a fit of Kingsoft rage the other day, I bought OfficeSuite Pro 7 and I wish I had done this earlier. It's not that OfficeSuite is just better, it's in an entirely different league. It's beautifully designed, the UI is perfectly human-factored. It's fast, offers every function I can think of, and best of all, it's freak'in stable - like 100% stable. Integration with cloud storage is fast and reliable.
If Kingsoft is your favorite Office app and it works perfectly for you, then life is great - for you. For me, IMO Kingsoft is not ready for prime time.
If you've been on the fence regarding shelling out the $14.99 price for OfficeSuite, I can tell you it's worth it. It really is an awesome app.
AW: OfficeSuite Pro 7 - Two Thumbs Up!
Amen. I can second that.

I almost pulled the trigger on it back then too.
That made it harder to pay full price for it. But I am still glad I did.
Interestingly enough, I seem to recall that people who got the app on sale had to pay full price to get the update to the current version 7.x. Also, the sale app didn't include all the fonts you get with the full price version. I recall that some folks were quite unhappy about that. Could be mistaken about this though...

I'm loving the new office suite 7 yup please too, the UK improvements are perfect.
A quick FYI, smart office 2 is on sale for 99 cents right now, for that price I couldn't help picking it up too. Got office suite when it was on sale also, lucky me.

Not only was I mistaken about that, but when you pay full price, it appears that you still have to pay extra for fonts and dictionaries. Oh well.
If there are free dictionaries available, someone give me a heads-up on that.
Still, really happy to have this app and I am using it every day.
It really is an amazing app! I bought it back in September, when it was still version 6, for .25 and have watched it evolve over the past few months.
It's grown so much and the devs are very responsive and helpful. It's worth the full price.
Nice app. Needs PDF annotation support.
Bought this when it was on sale was able to get 7 but the fonts package was not included and costs $4.99.

Great post. Thanks. I agree with you.
STEP 1: I am using OS-Pro v7.1.1237. On the Home tab, I created a new W document. I type in a few words, nothing much, e.g. Hello World. Then I hit save, Save as, Word Document(*.docx). I keep the Untitled.docx name and save to Remote Files, Google Drive, My Drive. It prompts Save, Convert file(s) to Google Drive format? You can choose No or Yes. Up to here it works great.
STEP 2: But, then I select Menu, File, Print. I have previously configured a printer as "Save to Google Drive". This can be done using Add Printer, selecting account, checking Save to Google Drive, and Add button. After printer configured, when I press Save to Google Drive there is an Error dialog prompt saying "Could not print to PDF".
STEP 3: So, I back up, and on the same file select Menu, File, Save As, Word 95-2003 Document(*.doc). Then I finish up saving Untitled.doc as in STEP 1. This also works great. Again I select File, Print, Save to Google Drive. Now I get toast "Print Job submitted successfully".
STEP 4: Swith back. Menu, File, Save as, Word Document(*.docx). Finish up as STEP 1. Overwrite previous STEP 1 document. Again, File, Print, Save to Google Drive, gives Error dialog "Could not convert to PDF".
The Google Cloud Print feature of OfficeSuite Pro is *not* working on new documents formatted in *.docx. This problem only occurs on *.docx where every other format I tried works. I can verify other tests pass because on Google Drive there are files like Untitled.doc.pdf. I can even print the sample *.docx provided by MobiSystems. But, creating a new *.docx fails to print.
I do not understand how a major feature like printing to Google Cloud Print can fail to convert a simple PDF. Maybe the support team at MobiSystems is not capable to perform simple testing on their releases? Unsure.
I have Google Drive, but don't use it with OS Pro, so I can't comment. It really should work, so I agree with you.
I use Dropbox with OS Pro and it works perfectly. Fast, reliable, predictable every time.

Thanks.
Just out of curiosity, can you try the same test as above and test print to Google Drive? It is very fast, automatic and simple.
Is there a feature to print to Dropbox? Is that even possible?
+1 also, I think it's the only suite to handle docx files... Or it was when I checked last...
