Switching between silent/normal is a pain in HTC One. Would appreciate if someone could make a mod to put that in power menu or on the notifications drop-down.

If you're rooted, you can flash rom with EQS that have the icon.
If you're stock or stock with root only, you can download Power Toggles or similar,
Power Toggles it is!

My girlfriend has a galaxy s and in the pull down notification bar there is power control buttons for bluetooth, wifif etc. Can we get this sort of functionality on the desire?
I think there are enough things on the pull down bar already. I find the power control widget already on the phone to be a great tool.

i just find it clogs up home screens, would be great if the power control bar could be integrated into the pull down notification area. Replace the carrier name and you wouldn't be adding any more to it
There is an app called bar control that does this I use it for WiFi and location switches so I don't have to leave a page

quickdesk doesnt have many functions, cant turn things on/off just takes you through to the settings. Was looking for something like extended controls but the buttons are in the notification bar when you pull it down.

Err, add widgets or shortcuts to it? Not all that difficult. Search the market for widget toggles you want, WiFi, gps etc then just add them to quickdesk. Sorted.

I was wondering if there is any widget/application or someone could make the application to call power button menu instead of pressing the button each time.
I already searched the market and xda but seems there is nothing
I'm looking for the exact same thing and wasn't able to find it too!
Would be very nice, if someone could code a widget!
Greets from Austria
If there would be one,it should be nice.

Thanks for your attention, there are some widgets on the market which can do reboot and recovery or even download mode. but it was just an idea to create a new widget to popup power menu, I think that would not be so difficult for programmers as they are only going to call a phone function.

Nice idea! After hiding the navbar, I quickly realized how much I could use something like this! I'll have to try this out when I get a chance.
Only downside I see is that since we're changing the key layout file, even when the navbar is shown, the volume buttons would still act as home/back. Would be nice for the ROM chefs to have some sort of 'live toggle' so that it would switch to home/back when the navbar is hidden, and then back to default (actual volume) when the navbar is shown.
Cheers and thanks m8!
Op, pm sent.
That's a nice idea but how do you change the volume? You will have to install some kind widget.
Also this increase wear on your buttons, that's how I killed my previous phone.
there's a toggle in AOKP to hide and bring back the toggles, although this would be more convenient it seems like it would be a hassle to change those buttons whenever you needed your volume back
Thanks for the idea just FYI on 4.0.2 GSM the layout file is:
ROOT - SYSTEM - USR - KEYLAYOUT - Generic.kl but it worked just the same. It was item 114 and 115.
Working great so far. Also I put a volume widget on my home screen so that takes care of that.
There's a flashable zip for this on rootz, been using it for several days. I just long press my ringer toggle for volume adjustment.
what i wanna see is this:
tap the power button to show/hide nav bar
double tap to lock screen
hold down to power off
boom.

I could def see this being functional

My bad .dup post
or you could just shrink the nav bar down to 30dp!
still works well and its almost like its not there!
Pretty cool. Thanks. Works like a charm.
Even long presses on the volume replicates the same behaviour as I configured on the Nova launcher :
- Long press on the Home (vol up) key: shows recents apps
- Long press on the Back (vol down) key: kills app

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Doesn't seem to do anything on AOKP 27. The default says WAKE and when I change it and then reboot the volume buttons still handles the volume.
how?
Teach me, please

I think people here are misunderstand the statement. "I just long press my ringer toggle for volume adjustment." He used the built in toggles(slient or vibrate) in the rom to get the the volume screen and make volume adjustments. The long press of the physical volume key is not adjusting the volume once the mod is made.

+1 I agree with this idea
Just got the SGIII and my GNex is now my 16 month old daughters learning device. We installed a whole bunch of baby stuff but the problem is she keeps hitting the home button and exiting the app.
The phone is rooted and I am running the Nova launcher so I could remove all the navbar buttons... But then I won't be able to exit some apps if there isn't a built in exit option...
My idea was to add a HOME button to the power button menu. That way I would have a way to exit but my daughter shouldn't be able to figure it out so easily. Does anyone know if this is possible?
I'm running Codename Android ROM but I'd change if there was one that would work better.
Also, does anyone know how to disable the google search option when you drag your finger up from the bottom... I can't stand it, I always seem to do it by mistake myself.
Thanks,
Jim
i dont think this is possible..
Ok I figured as much. Any other ideas how I could hide home button but still have access to it via some other means?

This sounds exactly what you're after. It lets you remove/restore the navbar from the power menu, preventing unwanted exits.
Hi,
I am using RR ROM 7.1.1 right now and I really miss this notification button (#1 image). RR has this button (#2 image) but it only open the notification bar. I would appreciate the close/collapse feafture as well. I also looked for Playstore for another apps which could do that but there was none (just for opening). So if anyone of you has the app like that or can develop for me one. I would be willing to pay reasonable price.
So what you're is you want the close feature of the stock rom, with the button of RR?

I need a app, that open the notification bar and when I press it and when I press the button one more time it will collapse(close) the notification bar, just like a button on the stock rom. Just the easy toggle that's what I need.
Take a look at this. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sg.techki.notificationbaropener

Thx, but that's not what I looking for. I need it to put into the navbar, this is like a floating button.
