You cannot boot it on flashmode since the screen is not turning on. Just vibrate right? and blackout screen? I know the problem is flex. I'm 90% sure . I had same problem then. You should bring it to the nearest sony repair center to be replace.

What is flex ?
So no chance to repair my phone by myself ?

No, unless you know how troubleshoot hardware parts. Flex is a cable that connects your lower part (touchpad) to the screen. Maybe it broke because of sliding the pad frequently. Now I don't use my pad or I slide it with much care now. I only use it once in awhile because I'm afraid to mess with it again. Since the xperia play is a 2011 product, the parts are also rarely available. You can call to the sony repair center if they have flex for your xperia play and you'll be lucky if you find one. They will tell you to call back for two weeks if they don't have because they will order it first. Try all the sony repair center on your city. But for now, try doing this: Remove your battery to be sure it is turned off, put it back, then charge it. When the led light turned on to the on/off button(usually orange when below 90%), then try sliding the pad. Try sliding it many times. It will turn on if your flex is slightly working. If the screen is still black, then the flex is totally broken.

You can boot into flashmode by holding back button and plug your usb(you phone should be turned off)if your power button led turn to green you boot to fastboot correctly
Then download the last firmware and flash it with flashtool

[Q] Screen problem

Hello,
My friend have a Sony Xperia S and reciently it been serviced because microphone was not working just after a month of using it, but its been fixed and fine, but it taken them 2 weeks to fix it! But now when the phone in portrait mode will not register touch on the notification bar and in the Screen test the yellow line does not get to the top of the screen when you move finger across, but in landscape mode the i can get to the notification bar. So ether digitizer is broken or the screen is need re-calibration but i dont know how to do recalibration. Can some one give me advice WITHOUT taking it again to the Sony Service Center.
Thank you
Hold the screen lock button, and the volume down button for around 10 seconds. Basically resets the hardware. Hope this helps you.

Same problem here
Hi there,
as I am facing the same problem with my Xperia S.
However it's my fault as I opened the device, loosened and tightened all screws on the back.
Unfortunately, I even flashed ROM and Kernel before and was running into some problems, so I wanted to take the battery out for a moment...
Any solutions so far execpt buying a screen replacement?

[Q] Xperia S - screen is extremely dim

Hi,
Recently i sent my phone into a repair shop to replace the battery, and it was fine for the first few weeks, but then the screen went really dark one day and I could hardly see anything. When I connect to the tv, it works and the touchscreen works and so does the actual screen, its just the back light.
I was wondering if anyone knew how to access the backlight (i presume its the backlight) so I could repair it? Thanks!

Did you press the volume down while connecting the USB cable? That should take you into download mode ( green led ). If that is also not working then it may be a problem.
You could try flashtool?

Yes, I did and the sony companion said it had finished, surely I could just send it to sony, because their software has caused it to stop working so they can repair it, and probably end up repairing the whole thing?

Help, dead Z1C!!

Hi, only had it 3 days and it wont power up any more!
The battery was down to about 27%, plugged it into the wall charger and the phone just rebooted itself. After it booted back up I connected the charger again and this time the phone just turned off. The phone won't turn on any more, i just get a constant blinking red led light.
Tried a volume up + power button for a minute now nothing.
Tried pressing the little red button under the Sim, nothing.
Connected the phone to a PC and the PC makes a blip sound(found new device sound), but just keeps repeating the blip sound, like the usb cable has been unplugged and plugged back in over and over. Wanted to use the Sony companion software to do a reset.
Any other ideas or is it dead?!?
thanks

Hi, not flashed anything as the phone was brand new. Spoke with the retailer and they swapped out the handset.
I did manage to get the device to boot up after more searching online, by holding down the power button for about 10mins and keeping it charged at the same time. The flashing red light then changed to a solid orange light, after another 10mins or so the phone booted up. But the phone was playing up after that even after a hard reset.

Help: G3 doesn't power on - Only blue/green notification light blinks :(

The G3 just dropped down on the floor with the circle case. Then It was working some minutes apparently with no problem, until I myself turn the phone off and restart it. Then the device just didn't turn on. The only thing is that the screen is black and the led notification blinking green and blue
when i connect the charger, the red led blinks once and then disappears, then after 30 seconds the red led appears which apparently shows that the phone is charging the battery. Also When I connect the phone to the PC, a sound of connection is heard from PC but the PC doesn't complete the device recognition process as no new device is found.
I tried to make a hard reset, but nothing happens when I press the power and volume down keys. Tried some other tricks with the battery and the hard keys on the phone but no result at all, as the same story just repeats. Does anybody have a solution for the problem? This devise is the only android device I have
Help
Please Help :crying:

Did you do anything else after/during the time that the phone was off? And is there no possibility that you cracked the LCD digitizer? I mean it might sound strange but this is what I had with my old phone. I dropped it, nothing serious but then I put it in my pocket and upon taking it out I noticed the screen not turning on. As stated above, my digitizer was broken and multiple people told me that the digitizer had a small crack which I didn't notice, then when I put it in my pocket I put too much pressure on the digitizer cracking it. The LED-light did work though, and this sounds very similar so my advise going to the store and asking wether they know what the problem might be.
(Hopefully this was helpfull hehe)

If you Don't see the LG splash screen when pressing the power button it seems like a screen or digitizer problem for sure.
BUT;
after you try turning it "on" let it sit a few minutes and see if you can call your self or send a text to see if it makes noise vibrates etc. to confirm a screen problem.
OR
Also you can try putting it into download mode.
Battery pull (don't turn on)
plug USB into phone but not computer
Hold volume down AND then plug usb into computer
if this comes up to a pic of something on the phone it will be software related. to get out of this mode you can do a battery pull.
Remember to always read up on topics and things you are doing. There are guides here on XDA to help you out.
Hope you get your phone working

I didn't do anything special after/during the time the phone was off. I checked the screen very carefully under a lamp. No particular sign of crack. Thank you very much for sharing ur experience.:good:

I tried to put it into download mode, but no result at all as no connection could also be made between the phone and PC. Moreover, I tried to make a text/call, but nothing is received by the phone. Thank you very much for ur suggestions.

Seems like the drop damaged the memory and the phone can't reload it, you will have to bring it in

Yeah that's plausible ! I'd bring it in too
Hope you fix your phone fast
Yeah... Probably it's a hardware problem. Someone who checked the phone in order to fix it, said that the problem had been with the device board. Even though I was satisfied with the phone, I have found out that the G3 is a sensitive device, as the height of the table from which it dropped down wasn't too much. So always take care of your G3 phone.
