I have installed cm10.1 on my phone su640. It can received sms but cannot. When I try to send SMS it always say SMS was not sent. I try update smsc in *#*#4636*#*# but it say update error. So please help me how to fix SMS not sent.

It depends on your service provider. In CM10.1 Go to Settings>More>Mobile Networks (Very similar on ICS)
However from my understanding this is more for data and MMS. Give it a shot with settings from Google search of 'APN' with whatever provider you're with (bell, at&t, etc.)

i would call your providers tech support if your data is working but your sms wont, there is stuff they can change at their end too, if there is nothing they can do try reflashing cm
I try To disable mobile data and reflash cm but still not work.

Hi peeps,
First off im sorry if this has already been posted i looked around didnt find an answer so i have an issue where i never get a vibration when i receive a notification or a sms while the screen is in i have to check the statusbar everytime ...
I have turned vibration on in the settings and still cant get a vibration that notifies me i have an sms or something .. any input is appreciated,

Yep functions normally ive set vibrate strenght to max turned on notifications but yet upon receiving anything it does not vibrate... im on the latest videotron firmware if it can help in any way

Not sure if this is the same issue, but I replaced the TouchWiz messaging app with the stock AOSP app. I don't get notifications or a vibration for messages while I'm still in the messaging app. Even with the screen off. I have to make sure to exit out to the home screen before locking my phone. It's been driving me crazy.

Did you lose your imei? Look under settings - about device - status
Go to setting on application manager and play store ; clear all data and cache.
And restart play storw again.

I do believe you do need at least a data connection, even if you're using the wireless to download.
It has something to do with carrier information, IMHO

I can receive text messages and make calls while I have my wifi on but when I take wifi off I get the gray bars and don't get any data.. Check out the pictures

Did you check your APN settings?
Just for ****s and giggles also verify that your imei isn't '0"

I had this happen a bunch of times with my skyrocket, then my ATT S3, and finally with my friends Verizon S3. I just deleted all the different APN s. Then manually entered the APN info that I saved on my skyrocket or a text file. All is well now. FYI I've always had a tough time figuring out APN settings even with XDA. So I actually got my APN info from an activated phone in an ATT store one day and have been using that since.
Definitely not well documented on these forums that I've seen anyway... Please correct me if I I'm wrong.

Hi my MMS aren't sending to any other network other than my own. Nothing will send to Rogers or Bell. I tried alternate SMS apps but nothing does it. Any help ?

Sounds like a problem with your carrier, I'd suggest given them a call.
Btw, you didn't give any info on what ROM/kernel you're using.

Then yeah, contact your carrier. I believe it's on their end.
If they tell you to factory reset, don't listen lol. That's not the problem. (Can be used as last resort)
After flashing monocerosv.0.3 I keep getting this error when trying to sent MMS messages. Texts go through fine, but not MMS. Tried wiping caches and fixing perms again. No luck. Any help would be awesome. Thanks
#edit# it will send them with WiFi on even though I'm not actually connected to a WiFi network. Wierd?

get the MMS.apk file from previous ver. and put into yr current system app folder, restart and that should fixed the problem.
