how do i nandroid restore from cm10.1 to stock JB - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Right now im on cm10.1, but prior to flashing 10.1, i did a nandroid backup using the el29 direct boot kernal. In order to restore my stock jb backup, do i just load this el29 kernal, then do a nandroid restore? After the restore is completed, do i then go into download mode and flash the stock JB kernal?

Flashing and backing up and stock

I made a nandroid backup in clockwork of the stock rom. Since then I went to a custom rom. I was wondering if I could restore the backup while on a custom rom or if I have to go back to stock and then restore it.
2. How would I get back to stock if I needed to?
Thanks

You can boot into cwm from your custom rom and use it to restore the nandroid backup which will take you back into the rom as it was when you backed it up.
I suggest you make a nandroid of your current setup before hand - one can never have too many backups!

Going back to stock rom from cm9?

When i flashed cm9 i simply just wiped everything, and flashed cm9. Is there a different procedure when going from and aosp based rom back to a stock rom? Do i need to flash a stock firmware? or can i just flash the nandroid backup i made after rooting for the first time? and in the future if i wanted to go back to cm9/10 or aokp will it be the same as i did before?
I've nandorid back to stock every time. I never flashed back. If you want to return to a cm9/cm10 build...yes, just rewipe like you did before and you'll be fine. Just keep that backup you have safe.

Nandroid Restore Stock Rooted EL29

After ODIN back to stock rooted EL29 and putting on CWM, can you nandroid restore using CWM Rogue without having any issues of EMMC, correct?
You can restore nandroids no problem. However if you made a Android with cwm6 you cannot restore from cwm5

[Q] Doubts about recovery!

I am currently using cm10 with hellboy kernel and have a cvm backup of stock rom. I was wondering if *touchwood* something were to happen to the custom rom will a simple recovery be enough to get back to sense? or is there some kernel which will have to be flashed first? or is ruu the only way of going back to sense?
if u have a nandroid backup of stock ROM u can restore it and flash the boot.img found inside that particular backup.if u do not have a stock backup u will have to apply ruu or u can even restore nandroid backups of stock ROM found on XDA.

[Q] Restoring ICS Nandroid if on JB

So I updated my SII to ICS using Kies and after that I pushed TWRP and made my usual backup. My question, like the title states, if I flash a 4.2.2 ROM like Slimbean will I be able to restore my backup with no issues? or will I need to Odin back to stock?

You should be able to restore your backup with no issues. A nandroid backup will return you to exactly where you were when you did the backup.
