The following link is to an online file converter. You can upload any sound file and convert it to ogg, wav, mp3 and wma. I use this site all the time. You can use this to convert sound clips into files for your PowerOff and PowerOn. Once you download the converted file, name it PowerOn.ogg and replace the file in SYSTEM/MEDIA/AUDIO/UI and when you boot the phone on this is the file that will be played. If you want to do PowerOff sound file make sure to make an OGG and a WAV file the Off sequence.
Make sure to make a copy of the original PowerOn or PowerOff file, in case you dont like what ever you made.

I tried that before and it didn't work. Just use Sound Converter.
Hey Guys well i think that you can make OGG files just by right clicking a WMA or MP3 file.A selection will pop up with various choices. Make sure to choose the food selection that says convert to and then choose OGG on the pop up menu. Thanks!!

Hi Everyone! So I just rooted and debloated my T-Mobile S3 and I was wondering if anyone had gotten around to changing the stock button press sounds(blip) and touch sounds(water droplet). I've been creeping the internet and I can't seem to find a credible and sure fire way to do so. Anyone able to modify it? Thanks in Advance!
I don't know the exact file names but they should be in system/media/audio/ui. The file names will give you some idea of the event that triggers the sound.

How would you get the .ogg format from say.. an mp3 or something? If you can do that you can probably give it the same name TW_Touch.ogg and it should play the new sound. I agree it would be nice to replace it. I bet someone on here knows how to get that format. :good:

Audacity is a free sound editing program that lets you convert your WAV/MP3 to .OGG
what is the path directory to the sounds? I've been looking through it and I can't seem to find it. I must be blind.
i tried to browse here: system/media/audio/ui
but it doesn't seem to be there D:

(uh they wont let me post because i'm a new member >_< just fill in the dots)
I really like audacity. I used to use it to make my ring tones and notification sounds and looks like I'll be using it again!
Hi Everyone! So I got it working! super excited with my new interface sounds
Here are the steps you need to take:
1. Have a File Explorer with ROOT access
2. Navigate to system/media/audio/ui
3. Choose the sound you want to replace (I edited S_HW_TOUCH.ogg and TW_TOUCH.ogg)
4. Save a backup of the sounds and replace them with your unique .ogg sound files (use a program like audacity to convert your sound file to .OGG)
5. Restart your phone.
6. PROFIT!
Happy Modding Everyone. Thanks are appreciated! :highfive:

I really dislike the water droplets as well. Those were among the first i've changed. I believe they are the LOCK.ogg and UNLOCK.ogg
I'm on my phone so I can't search very well. Did anyone find where the dialer sound was?
I looked in the phone apk and only found two sound files, neither of which was the dial pad sound

Hi Everyone, Where do i find the system/media/audio/ui File? i cant find it in my phone. can anyone help please...
Trying to see if anyone can do this. I have the qmg file for the stock sprint jelly bean. But it's in qmg. My rom only allows to read the animations from the bootanimation.zip file.
Does someone know how to convert?
Basically trying to do this on the animation with the Samsung text and the purple swirl that goes around it.

It's proprietary Samsung format there is no conversion for it. If you would like to enable the stock functionality back to your phone then you will need to change the samsungani located in /system/bin back to the standard one and then the kernel will boot the stock qmg file instead of the bootanimation.zip
Hope that helps

If your running aosp all you need is the bootanimation.zip that you want to use. Drop it in system/media and give it these permissions.

Were you able to try it out? Did the kernal load samsungani with the target qmg files? I suspect the init scripts might also need changing. Please let me know if you have made any progress.

Didn't work for me. Does the sound has to be names something in particular?
I found a file named PowerOn.ogg which I tried to use and moved it to the mentioned folder. But no sound on Reboot.
I'm on a custom ROM if it matters?

QMG file format is a proprietary format. The encoding tool, decoder library are also proprietary. I don't think it's possible to convert to .zip
Not sure if possible but is the shutdown one the same ?

Deleting any bootanimation.zip from system/media should restore original

Restore the ability to play mp4 bootanimation from stock motorola ROM
Remove the .txt from file in attachments and put the file in system/bin and replace the original one
Don't forget to make a backup in case anything goes wrong
After that you'll be able to use the mp4 bootanimation.zip from stock rom
I've tried this in many roms from different devices and everything works fine

Where can i find some boot animations ? video
i want a Ring with an M inside Growing
yeay, it work on PA 4.44 . thanks man
I finally got this to work....
I have the Boostmobile CDMA XT1031 variant and I am running Stock 4.4.4.+Xposed.
I had to manually set the permissions of that bootanimation file of yours to: rwxr-xr-x.
All that work to get the Android L boot animation to work on stock!
Didn't worked for me at first try then I did this:
1) Change the permissions of the bootanimation file that you pasted in system/bin (change it to -rwxr-xr-x)
2) Change the permissions of bootanimation.zip that you pasted in system/media and change the permission as you changed it for above file.
3) Reboot and enjoy!
Very nice!! :good:
I will make a flasheable zip to it easy!
Please port it to CM12
I'm using your script since i bought my phone, Its awesome
But in latest CM12 its not working anymore
I port a working version to LOLLIPOP roms like CM12

It worked on my Boost Mobile moto g (xt1031). At first I had problems but then I realized that I forgot to change permissions ?. Here is the install method: (I don't know much about the features when you post so I guess you'll have to share this reply somehow for those that have problems and could have some help)
1. Backup "bootanimation" located in system/bin (I just make a folder in my Downloads calling it backup______ and place it in there)
2. Rename attachment from "bootanimation.txt" to "bootanimation" Copy and paste the "bootanimation" into system/bin (yes you replace it (or overwrite whatever ot says).
3. Change file's permissions to rwxr-xr-x
4. There is no "4" you're done. However, if you have a theme loaded in your rom I think you're going to have to update the boot animation back to stock in your theme settings.
Restoring:
1. Rename backup to "bootanimation" and paste to system/bin.
2. Change permissions to rwxr-xr-x
If you need help i'll try to help based on what I know
