Hello
I trying to add Boot animation sound but nothing work
any way to do it ?
What rom are you on?
Sent from my GT-I9100
Try to go with root explorer into: System>etc....inside this folder (etc) scroll and you will found "PowerOn.ogg" that is the start up sound....put your file in this folder and rename it with "PowerOn" but first do a backup of the original start up: to do it rename the original PowerOn.ogg in "PowerOn.ogg.bak"....
So, THANKS would be appreciated if I help you!!

Nope, Samsung roms use .ogg format for boot stuff, AOSP uses mp3.

May seem a silly question: has the celluare sounds active? because it happened to me that I did not seem to work, but it was not active sounds...

Maybe you can ask the developers that not from aokp. Anyway if biohazard has release the new version I will try it and inform you if I find the solution

Its working for all ICS (AOKP & CM9B1 Based)...
Let me repeat to you..
Download and Install Root Explorer (Here it is)
Copy your original Mp3 file which you want, Paste into your system/media folder ( Not in Audio folder)
Remember, before pasting, Click in upper side there is a button called "Mount R/W" when you touch that button it will change into "Mount R/O" then paste your Mp3 file and rename into "boot_audio.mp3" ...
Remember again: Check the correct spell of your sound file, there is Underscore between boot and audio not Minuse (-)...
After Renamed. Close Root Explorer and Restart your Phone
Enjoy

the codec yeh.. mp3 files, if you just rename the extension, the codec will not be different..
no, just give recommendation.. cause when boot, very lack of playing media.. no player loaded.. even boot animation itself is from pictures that changed quickly..

I think Android kernel has support for both mp3 and ogg, and it performs auto-detection...

Trying to see if anyone can do this. I have the qmg file for the stock sprint jelly bean. But it's in qmg. My rom only allows to read the animations from the bootanimation.zip file.
Does someone know how to convert?
Basically trying to do this on the animation with the Samsung text and the purple swirl that goes around it.

It's proprietary Samsung format there is no conversion for it. If you would like to enable the stock functionality back to your phone then you will need to change the samsungani located in /system/bin back to the standard one and then the kernel will boot the stock qmg file instead of the bootanimation.zip
Hope that helps

If your running aosp all you need is the bootanimation.zip that you want to use. Drop it in system/media and give it these permissions.

Not really my question, I wanted to somehow let my AOSP rom run a .qmg file instead of AOSP's bootanimation.zip

Were you able to try it out? Did the kernal load samsungani with the target qmg files? I suspect the init scripts might also need changing. Please let me know if you have made any progress.

This method will not work on ReVolt because it is not a ROM based on TouchWiz UX, it is a ROM that is based on AOSP/AOKP. This type of ROM will require a bit more work for boot sounds. This thread may give you some help.

Hi all! Here I have posted the Sprint Spark bootanimation used on the new ZVA update . You can download it here. AOSP ROMs: You can use it on your LG G2 or other devices running an AOSP ROM by downloading Root Browser (or some equivalent) and going into system then media and then placing the bootanimation_sprint.zip in there. Then rename the bootanimation.zip file already in there to something like bootanimation_old.zip and rename the new bootanimation_sprint.zip to bootanimation.zip. Then reboot, and if done correctly you should see the sprint spark boot logo Good luck! Comment if you need any help or if I confused you in any way
Also, on CM 10.2 when you update it would change back the boot animation to the stock one. Not sure if it still does this, but let me know if it does .
Youdug's directions for ZVA/ZV8/ZV7: Name bootanimation_sprint.zip, push to system/media, rw-r-r permissions
I like switching those sometimes

Yeah. The Google Edition S4 bootlogo I used to use on my S4 before getting the G2. This bootlogo just looks really nice and all of the old Sprint bootlogos really sucked haha. If you're interested I can add some other bootlogos I have saved from some ROMs, they look pretty cool.

You can also install it using romtoolbox by going to boot animations and selecting it from "local" this way it changes the permissions for you, took me like 2 seconds to install this way, worked perfectly!
I actually used rom toolbox pro... not sure if that makes a difference.
I'm not using an AOSP based ROM, but I'd really like to have a more stock boot animation. Can anyone provide the directions for using this with a stock based ROM?
It still should be in system/media and the directions will be the same(just rename to whatever the rom has the bootani named

ROM toolbox didn't work for me because it looks like it couldn't overwrite the file that was there.
The directions didn't work either until I figured out how to change the permissions using ES File Explorer. Got it working. Beautiful work people.
Now, my only question is... I've found a bunch of cool looking generic animations. They all have different sizes/resolutions. Which one does the LG G2 use?

Theoretically a 1080p+ boot logo should be fine, however, it varies. So the best thing to do is try the one you like and see if it looks right. At worst it'll just look out of res and you could replace it.
