I've recently had my notification LED stop working, the only time it lights up is when I receive a call. I'm running AOKP JB-MR1 milestone 1 with lean kernel, and when I attempt to test the LED in the rom settings, nothing happens. LightFlow doesn't work either (though it used to). Is anyone else having this issue?
Nope can't really say cause i'm not running aokp last time i ran aokp it was on ics you could try clearing caches and dalvik through recovery and trying again :-S or dirty flash your rom +gapps might be helpful
This issue has persisted through multiple factory resets and clearing cache, etc., never thought to dirty flash, but again it's still around after installing roms and factory resets

My phone works flawlessly with the stock rom or any sense-based rom. However, whenever I try to run an AOSP rom (tried CM and Evervolv so far), I get random restarts a few times a day while the phone is idling. I do wipe data, cache, and dalvik twice each before flashing. It happens whether or not I use the bundled kernels or a different kernel, and it happens even if I don't install any applications at all. I love the feel of AOSP roms, but I'm starting to think they are a pipe dream for me. Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks.

flash MIUI and see if you have the same recurring problem
Thank you, I'll try that tonight.
Hi all,
I've been having an issue and I cannot figure it out. While using my phone the screen will freeze. On screen and physical buttons will not respond. The only way to solve this has been battery pull.
Its happened across different ROMs and kernels (all jelly bean based if that makes a difference) including aokp unofficial nightlies, cm10 official nightlies, and stock, air, and popcorn kernels. I have done factory reset to wipe data/cache and wiped dalvik (came from og droid and that's been my habit) but the problem persists. I read somewhere about reboots being caused by permissions issues, but I ran fix permissions in CWM to no avail.
Could anyone offer advice/suggestions/solutions?
I cant find anything in the forums but I have been using mmuzzys roms for about a month or two now and recently, the september 29th 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 roms have been giving me problems with my widgets. They all work but they dont refresh their images. For example when I press the wifi toggle it will toggle my wifi but the image will stay lit no matter what. My play music widget will show the same artist no matter what I change it to. When I restart my phone everything works but this happens about 2 to 3 times a day and it gets annoying and drains battery. Any ideas? I have a verizon nexus.

I haven't heard this from anyone else. Sounds strange. Did you do a clean install or did you dirty flash over the previous ROM install? It might be worth clean installing if not. Other things to try would be to clear caches, fix permissions, etc.

For 4.1.2 I dirty flashed it, but for the september 29th 4.1.1 I did a clean flash trying to fix the issue but it still happened. What should I clear caches of? And which permissions? Do you still think I should do a full wipe and reflash? Is there a fourth thing to wipe other than data/factory, cache, and davlik? I thought i read something somewhere and just want to make sure I havent been doing it wrong this entire time. By the way thanks for the reply Muzzy I really love your roms over the tons ive tried.
EDIT - Hey sorry Im an idiot and wasnt doing a full wipe, ever. So I am doing a completely clean flash of 4.1.2. Ill repost in a few hours if the problem happens again.
Hi,
I have been using custom roms for a while on my note II N7100. From my last rom my phone was restarting on its own at least once a day and complete freezing quite a few times. Only solution was to reboot the phone by holding the power button for few seconds, nothing else would work. Even tried leaving the phone for 10-15 minutes however it did not help.
I was using Carbon Rom earlier. I changed Liquidsmooth 2.9 however the same thing happened. In fact the frequency increased with Liquidsmooth. I was worried about a hardware problem as even after complete wipe and with different rom same thing was happening.
I decided to perform a complete factory reset, wipe cache/dalvik cache. After flashing liquidsmooth 2.9 I did not flashed the gapps, used the phone for couple of hours and things were fine. After I flashed the requied gapps - gapps-jb-20130301 - same thing started happening.
Somebody please let me know if I can flash the earlier version of Gapps or later version if available.
Regards
I have been looking for a solution to this problem for weeks and have found nothing that will fix it.
I am currently on CM11-M3, and have had the problem since 10.2. No matter what ringtone I select it will not play during an incoming call.
I have been testing with wheresmycellphone.com. Ehen a call comes in the phone will vibrate once and very rarely the ringtone will play for a fraction of a second, but most of the time there is no sound. I have noticed that the mute icon (speaker with a line through it) flashes in the notification area briefly the second the phone starts ringing.
Does it be behave the same way on other custom and stock ROMs?
Are you clean flashing?

I dirty flashed 10.2 from 10.1, I did a clean install when I switched to CM11, every flash since has been with a cache/dalvik wipe. I have not yet tried a rom beyond CM.
You should try another ROM, even if it is based on CM11 to see what happens.

I will when I get a moment. I need to be accessible for work right now so I can't risk any excessive off time just yet.

Well, I finally got off my ass to try fixing this again. I was going to try installing SlimKat, and as prep I wiped cache, dalvik and then factory reset. I rebooted to try receiving a call before I started work on flashing the rom and the phone now rings fine. I have no idea what changed, I had tried a factory reset on M2 and it didn't fix the issue. This is the first factory reset I applied to M3 though.
