I tried flashing the phone to Cyanogen 9.1 and something went wrong.
I then followed the instructions to restore to original T-mobile ROM.
It worked.
No, I am stuck on the Android System recovery <3e> screen.
I am able to go Vol Up and Down, but NOT to enter with OK Key. I do not even have an OK key.
Press the power button does nothing.
It only work when I hold it. The phone gets rebooted and I see the Samsung Galaxy SII Android 4G T Mobile welcome screen.
The progress bar underneath gets all the way to the right and the phone just gets stuck at this point.
Is my phone bricked?
Can I restore it?
I am able to get into download mode and ODIN recognizes the phone.
I try to flash the stock T-Mobile image, it takes a while and it FAILS!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to get out of Odin by long pressing the power button.
If you cannot get out of odin that way, pull the battery and replace it, that way for sure it will get out
of download mode, and if all goes well you should be able to go into recovery mode by pressing the
power and the volume down button at the same time and as soon as you see tiny neon colored text
on top left side of the screen let go of both buttons and wait until it loads the recovery screen.
Good luck!
Thank you

my phone was rooted and everything was fine, until i downloaded setCpu. And decided to overclock my S3 using this tutorial: http://theunlockr.com/2013/07/03/how-to-overclock-the-samsung-galaxy-s3-t-mobile/ . After that my phone won't boot and I can't access recovery menu. It only opens to show the Samsung Galaxy S3 screen for two or three secs then black screen. PLEASE HELP
bricke
If you hold the volume up home and power button on that screen you should be able to get into recovery
If you are planning on rooting it then I wouldn't recommended flashing the stock ROM because of the new Knox. If you try to root the new stock ROM it will void your warranty
Stock- dowload Samsung Kies. Go to tools, upgrade initialisation. Type in your phone info found beneath the battery
Custom- download Cayanfox ROM flash it in recovery
---------- Post added at 09:04 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:59 AM ----------
Your battery could also be dead after flashing. If this is the case it will probably have problems charging. In this case you would need another s3 battery with some charge to get into recovery
What message pops up in windows when you connect to PC ? Does the Red Light blink on the phone ?

It sounds like you soft bricked the phone.
Do you have a nandroid backup?
If you do just hold the volume down & home keys then push the power button on until it vibrates once. Let go of the power button and it should boot into the recovery mode. Restore the backup & you should be fine
Hi I use a LG G3 and flashed a zip that was not designed for my phone (Validus-shamu-5.0.1.alpha.1.0-TEST-20141217-2151.zip) by a accident and rebooted, and now my phone has a black screen and the led is flashing red and blue (and said error: boot certification verify prior to that stage). How can I fix it?
Additional info: I was using the latest TWRP recovery, and own a d852 variant.
Any input would be appreciated! This is my only phone and I would like to resolve this as soon as I can.
UPDATE: i tried pressing power + up and now nothing reacts, even when i press other buttons. black screen. no LED.
UPDATE2: I removed the battery and put it back in, and now LED are back.
EDIT: FIXED. CLOSE THREAD PLEASE. got my solution from: "What you have to is power + vol down while off till you see the LG logo, then release then immediately press them again it should bring you to a factory reset screen select yes and you will boot into recovery." if people are interested.
I need help as well

you're skating on very thin ice if you are flashing anything to your device that is not specifically for that model..

Mate, thank you a lot, you just saved my life.
I can't even express how thankful I am because my device almost got bricked and you just saved me. Thanks a lot !
It means not fully load.
Try to install the AUTORECAR in the Play Store.
Lol. The same thing happened to me on LG-D855. I flashed the TWRP recovery zip and new my phone is literally unusable. It doesn't boot into recovery or into anything else. Sigh.
Hi I have cyanogenmod 12 installed on my sprint galaxy s3 phone. I used this unofficial rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-sprint/development/rom-unofficial-cm12-lollipop-t2953040
Now I want to uninstall it and revert back to stock Android 4.4.2 that came with the phone. I have no idea on how to get started on that. Can someone help me get started step-by-step on doing this?

You probably have a custom recovery if you are running cm 12 and on a recent bootloader.
When you hit settings... About phone... What does it say for baseband/firmware?
Also, turn off your phone. When you turn it back on hold power + home button + volume up until you see the Samsung logo. If a weird menu pops up, this will make going to stock easier. Just hit reboot or reboot system, then we can help you get the right stock setup.

I am not sure what custom recovery I have, since I did not use any backup software and I had cyanogenmod 11 before then. I hope that's still ok.
My baseband version is: L710VPUDNJ2
When I reboot my phone by holding power + home button + volume up, it does have a weird menu with black background, red text at the top "Android system recovery <3e> -- KOT49H.L710VPUDND8".

Follow the directions here:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/41671/L710VPUDNJ2_L710SPRDNJ2_SPR/
You have to sign up, but it takes a few seconds and it is a pretty good site. Probably the easiest way for you. You will need a windows computer though.

Redownload the tar file. It should be around a gig in size. Sounds like a bad download

I just figured out the problem. It was 'soft bricked'. It had to be rebooted into recovery mode and I had to reformat and wipe cache. Now it works like when I first got the phone, unfortunately it's getting old and slow. That Galaxy S6 looks pretty awesome!
