[Q] Polar H7 Bluetooth 4.0 BLE on stock firmware - LG Optimus G (International)

Has anyone tried pairing one of these to the OG? I know BLE is in the specs of the phone, but theres conflicting reports about google supporting this. I know from searching that this does not work on the Nexus 4 on its stock firmware but am hoping the LG has baked it into their stock 4.1.2

[Q] Bluetooth 4.0 Update/Fix/Patch?

Hey all,
I tried to do a decent search before asking, so I apologize if this has been asked and my search skills aren't all that I though they were...
I have the T-Mobile Galaxy S III and I am loving it (came from a Verizon Galaxy Nexus). One of the reasons for my upgrade is the Bluetooth 4.0 support. To go with this, I recently purchased a Polar H7 Bluetooth heart rate monitor (Bluetooth 4.0 LE).
After failing an attempt to pair (phone will see the hardware address, but trying to pair returns an 'invalid pin or code'. A similar attempt on my Nexus 7 met with the same results.
A search of the internet (and the Amazon forums) returned information that there is not a Bluetooth 4.0 API for Android 4.0 (or 4.1);
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10041378/bluetooth-smart-4-0-gatt-support-in-android-4-0
Apparently the Galaxy S III (and the Nexus 7) has a Bluetooth 4.0 capable radio, but Google has not provided access to this as of yet. It also appear that Motorola had written custom drivers for the RAZR and the Droid 4 to enable their devices Bluetooth 4.0 support.
It was my misunderstanding that the Galaxy S III has Bluetooth support; I read the Engadget review and assumed that it was already there with ICS. (I tried the latest JB leak and still no luck on 4.0)
Does anyone have any insight as to when Google may release Bluetooth 4.0 drivers? Or is it possible for someone to extract the Motorola drivers and re-work them for other devices?

I understand your frustration and it sucks, try to contact Samsung I guess, and btw engadget says that's just because of specifications not bacuse they actually tested, if you read the review it didn't say it was tested at all so yeah, some reason why I never believe reviews lol

[Q] Bluetooth stack preventing WiiMote pair?

I just recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and was hoping to hook up a WiiMote to play some classic emulators, however the "WiiMote controller" app itself does not pair the two. I read somewhere that because of the bluetooth stack Samsung loads on, not all devices are supported. I do have the tablet rooted, but it is still running stock rom as I have not found other compatible roms to run on it yet. Is there any workaround to remove the bluetooth stack and load a standard Android on, or do I have to wait for more updates from dev?

I have not looked into it, so I do not know if Samsung is using anything other than the stock BT stack.
I don't know of any way to easily changing the stack. It requires several things, kernel support, modules & the new stack code integrated into hardware specific drivers. BlueZ, has a plugin & source available written to specifically avoid proprietary BT code, but again, you'd need to at the very least compile a new kernel, then find & modify stock modules. I am not so sure that BlueZ has an HID profile, so it may not work anyway. A custom rom is not going to affect this & most likely, your best bet is getting the app developer to add device support.

[Q] Fitbit Sync?

Has anyone been able to get Fitbit Flex wrist band to sync with the LGOG? it says on their website that only the S4 and S3 are supported as of now, but just curious if anyone has had luck getting the sync to work..
Thanks

While our phone should work if you're using a stock-based ROM (as the LG Bluetooth stack supports Bluetooth 4.0, and thus Bluetooth low energy), you'll want to avoid Android 4.2.2 ROMs on this phone unless they specifically added Bluetooth 4.0 support.
Android 4.3 fixes this hole by explicitly adding Bluetooth 4.0.
I have no personal experience with the Fitbit device, but I would guess Fitbit, Inc. is limiting official support to just the most popular smartphones as well as those they have on-hand to test and troubleshoot. Lack of official support doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, it just means they haven't tested and verified it themselves.
I have tried it with a couple of ROMs and they do not work. When you open the settings menu in the Fitbit app, and select devices, you would be able to see a sync/force sync option if the phone recognized it. I think it would require a build.prop change to one of the S3/4 devices just to recognize it, then actually syncing would be another issue of it's own.
I am interested in if anyone knows how to get this working, so I'll keep checking back.

[Q] Bluetooth 4.0 (Smart) capability

Hi, the original specs for the Nitro show a Bluetooth 3.0 radio. Has anyone running an Android 4.3 or above ROM tested a Bluetooth 4.0/Smart/BLE device, for example a heart rate strap, to see if the radio is actually capable of running above 3.0?

[Q] Do you have no bluetooth even on Android 5.0.1?

My nexus 7 2013 is not rooted and runs stock Android 5.0.1. Ever since Android 4.3 it does not read any nearby Bluetooth devices (my bluetooth mw600 nor my phone).
Does anybody else have this issue or a way to solve it? I have been searching the web for ages and no such solution was found.

Mine has always worked fine, you might have a hardware issue. The only thing I can suggest is use a factory image to return it to stock and see what happens. If it's still broke, might need to send it in for repairs.
No BT issues for me with Lollipop on neither N7 nor N5. I use them with BT speakers, BT headphones, android wear and a car.
I started to have issues with Bluetooth audio streaming since I got the ota update to 5.0.1

My Bluetooth audio streaming to a UE boom will hang at random on 5.0.1 . I flashed back to 4.4.4 and all is well.
