AK Kernel crashing on my phone randomly! - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey guys,
I've recently been using AK Kernel on my GN with PA on it. I don't know why, my phone just randomly crashes. I thought it must be kernel related so I tried the stable version of it, Rubik. But with Rubik, my phone heats up like crazy and shuts down :crying:
Please tell me what I should do

Stock settings?
yes ) Download trickster mod, and increase by 25mV mpu voltage ( without disable SR ) ( using '+/-' )
no ) Go back to stock, Overclock or UV or Low freq ( 230 mhz e.g ) can cause issue on some device
Crash anyway? it's problem of kernel and write inside Ak thread, using log and right format of bug segnalation

^ thats excellent advice, also for the heating thing you should try clearing trickstermod data and reboot then setup the settings again that solved the heating problem for users
@d0ge01 i'm outta thanks

This is strange, trickster will clear its data when you flash a new kernel:/

Every kernel has different options. So yes, when you flash a new kernel, it will go to whatever the stock settings are on that kernel.

Have you tried the latest ask skl246 and latest p.a I have been using both with none of those issues and the heat issue can also be solved by flashing rubic29 if clearing tricksters data doesn't work

[Q] Most Saving Battery ROM

Hello, i want to ask about custom rom and stock rom that the most battery saving, could u tell me what rom is it? because my gio is really wasteful, its only standby for 6-8 hours
FYI : i have stock rom with S5660DXKP6
Jonas hendrickx rom has great battery life.
Sent from my GT-S5660
giopro 1.4 also has good battery life
Right now using CM7.2, lasts a lot longer than stock.

could you all tell me how long your battery life is? and is it stable?
Usually GioPro 1.4 lasted me about 2 days with regular use (some calls, angry birds, a little wifi usage, screen brightness level medium)
Not that bad of a rom, actually.
I tried different ROMs and for me, stock with custom kernel and the same settings across ROMs, it lasts the longest.
I tried stock, CM7 by phiexz, CM7 by squadzone, CM9 (GalaxyICS) and now I'm running stock with phiexz' kernel.
About 12 hours even with constant Internet access (WiFi/HSDPA).

Changing kernel? Easy peasy.
Run download mode, flash CWM with Odin, reboot to recovery.
In CWM, mount /system, install zip from SD, choose the ZIP with kernel and voila. You might only want to apply Superuser ZIP too. Pre-rooted kernel from phiexz doesn't appear to be really rooted.
And voila. NoFrills CPU control is there, Superuser is there. You've got control over your superquick smartphone .

For a ROM with good battery life, you could also try "Particle ROM". With low usage (a bit wifi, standard apps, no games) I get 3 days, sometime even 4.
madelgijs
phiex rom, no doubt
Adrenaline ROM really has improved battery life than stock.
This is the BEST, Hands down, most Battery Saving Rom:
It must be built from Source (Aosp) (Like GB, CM7, CM9)
And most of it depends on the Kernel

CM9 Kernel?

What Kernels are supported in CM9?
Can someone link me to all of them?
Does this work in CM9 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1573184
I think DoomLords kernel works on CM9, but one is included in the FXP .zip, and I believe Keiran has also made a kernel for CM9.
KeiranFTW's kernel is your best option IMO for CM9 , it provides the best battery life !

That DooMLoRD kernel linked works great with CM9 (and AOKP). It's the one I use
Thanks everyone!
Theres just a little problem, i just flashed CM9 & Keirans Kernel, so i just tried turning on wifi & it gets stuck on 'Turning on wi-fi' & its all grey, but this problem occured when i flashed a CM9 on its own, so the problems still there, erm imma try to do a factory reset now, but anyone got any ideas?
I'd go through the normal steps to install CM9 again: wipe data, cache and dalvik-cache and then install CM9 again. I think I had this problem before, I just reinstalled it and it worked.

[STOCK KERNEL] ZVC viper kernel for E975

Sorry for posting here but disscusion about this are all over international and sprint optimus g and is also not for developement section.
LS970 has the same hardware as E975 so kernel should be the same, the only difference is that LS970 is CMDA, causing wifi issues on E975.
Viper ZVC is a stock based kernel with some very useful modifications: UC, OC, voltages control, faux gamma / audio and dynamic FSYNC.
Download from HERE
IMPORTANT: I will also upload a flashable recovery archieve with necessary modules to get wifi working, and modules_stock in case you restore LG stock boot.img
Known issues
max / min CPU freqs random reset (usually after reboot you have to set them back in trickster mod)
Strange LED behaviour (fixed using LightFlow with direct mode and root mode switched on)
Original thread: Viper ZVC
Enjoy more battery life and performance on your stock based ROM

Back up with CWM. In case there is anything wrong, you can do advanced restore and restore the boot.img. For now, we don't have stock kernel. I tried it and it is working. So far no issues.
I read somewhere that cpu frequency is 1.8 for default and even if reduced keeps jumpin to the highest value. The same for the gpu. Can someone check this?

True, this problem can be solved turning off mpdecision and activating freq lock. But 1.8ghz is really stable never had any issues and it hardly touch 1.8 with mpdecision on. (35h, only 9 minutes on 1.8)
Thankyou.

You shud've taken the backup of /system/lib/modules folder before flashing the kernel.
OP pls add this in your main section.
After i flashed the Stock kernel(by restoring the boot.img) my wifi didn't work. All i did is, I replaced the files in /system/lib/modules/prima with the one i did backup before.
Hope this one solves wifi problem with kernel.
