Hi,
I m new to the forums.
I have a sony xperia s with a locked bootloader but has been rooted.
i have cwm installed on it and currently have XZXperiance_2 installed.
I would like to go back to the offical ICS 4.0.4 Rom.
The phone says it is still logged as 4.0.4 but with different system on it.
I would like to go back to the origional system because of the official JB Update in the next few weeks.
If some could help me step by step it would be much help =]
I have set it back to factory settings but doesnt go back to the origional system i dont think i backed up the old system =[
Any help would be much appriciatted,
Many Thanks
Dan

I want to flash my Xperia Arc with the 2.3.3 xLoud update and with 2.3.4 afterwards.
I have two questions regarding the flashing;
1. Will flashing delete my installed apps and other files?
2. There are two versions available for flashing with 2.3.3; one is UK generic and the other one is Global generic. I've seen reports that the Global generic version has some 3G and WiFi problems......so is there any problem if I flash with UK generic?
NOTE: I have brought my handset from India and am living here as well.
Thanks in advance!
The guides are quite clear, so pick one and flash it.

ok.....
okay, this almost answers my query
Now, installing a rom like cyanogen mod performs a hard reset and delets everything on the phone.
So will flashing my arc with the se firmware also perform a hard reset or will my apps, contacts etc. still remain?
Just unthick "wipe userdata" in FlashTool and you'll keep everything.

Yoy didn't say what's your current version.
Just don't downgrade if you are on 2.3.4 already or u'll f*ck ur phone.
You can downgrade, but with special method.

Hi,
I got my phone stuck on bootloop, and can't find a good idiot-proof guide on how to fix this without the ability to get into recovery.
Here's what happened:
Last night I figured I'd give it another shot trying to get a custom rom on my Arc. This didn't work because I couldn't get into recovery anymore (??)
So just now I figured I'd re-install CWM, so I ran the program, it didn't work.
So I ran it again; Didn't work.
Well, I ran it again, and the program said it worked; So i try to boot into recovery, and it's boootlooping ((
I don't know what happened here (it has to have something to do with the cwm installation program), and I don't really care at this point. I just hope there is someone here that's willing to write up how to get it working again.(in an idiot-proof guide )
Thanks in advance guys
I would just re install stock either by using pcc or seus, or flashtools which is the preferred method for most.
If using flashtools you can choose which stock rom to use look in the stickies for the need roms etc.

were you using my CWM app on ICS? that is prob why you had problems i have not had time to update it for the latest firmware
Pvy.
Hey everyone,
i'm having some problems with my xperia arc. I tried to install cm9 by following a tutorial on youtube named: [HOW-TO] Install Cyanogenmod 9 RC1 on Xperia arc & arc S [HD & HQ]. (can't post the link because i'm new)
I flashed my device using his rom and now it won't start up. Basically, it just shows a black screen and the background-light is on. It's probably because i didn't reset my device before flashing.
How do i get my phone working again? I prefer to go back to the stock software, because i'm too noobish for this anyway.
thanks
If your bootloader is locked, you can use SEUS to help you restore the stock software.
Likewise, you can use flashtool to flash a ftf file of the stock firmware.

Hi!
You don´t need to unlock your bootloader cause this Rom works with stock kernel. But you´ll need to root your phone and install CWM.
Oficial 4.0.3 is rootable, so you won´t have problems to root at all. It´s pretty easy and fast.
CWM you can install using the play store: search for cwm for xperia
then, download 4.2 or 4.2n Icebean Rom and be happy.
Best regards!
Thankyou very much!
I downloaded a auto install root from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601038
I did this. I got stuck on SONY logo.
Im using stock kernel of ICS 4.0.4, rooted my phone by doomlord. I believe, the Ice Bean really require the ArcKnight kernel. Any idea why i got stucked? Can you advise???

Hi!
Did you solve your problem? 'I guess you did...'
I have heard of some users with 4.0.4 kernel having problems...
Honestly, I don´t know if the problem is related only to this stock kernel, but if you use 4.0.3 kernel or the new one released (587) you won´t have problems at all.
Another thing that SOMETIMES happens is to get stuck on SONY logo, but if you remove the battery of the phone, put it again and turn the phone on, then it works...
Wish u have solved before my post, but if u didn´t, try what I just wrote.
=)

Nope
But if you rooted ur mobile, when u update your mobile with PCC or SEUS, the root is gone. Only if your bootloader is locked.
Suppose if you rooted your mobile - you are able to take backup of current rom using rom manager and use the rom manager to install the backup rom.
Note down phone details (Baseband, Android version etc.,). You will get everything from the XDA. :good:
Hit thanks if I helped you. :victory:

Xperia Arc LT15i
Rooted/Unlocked BootLoader
JellyBean - FXP132/CM10
Didn't know that rom manager works on xperia arc?!
If you have rooted phone than install CWM and make nandroid backup,it's much easyer and it will restore everything you had on your phone when you did the backup.Cheers

Pfft... n00b..
Well if this were possible there would have been no reason to unlock the bootloader to install custom ROMs like CM or AOKP et al..
The main reason we cannot create an ftf file for a ROM other than Stock iss that we do not know how Sony encodes its files in the .sin format. I have been trying to decode and encode the .sin files but till now every try has been an epic Fail..
