Hey everyone,
i'm having some problems with my xperia arc. I tried to install cm9 by following a tutorial on youtube named: [HOW-TO] Install Cyanogenmod 9 RC1 on Xperia arc & arc S [HD & HQ]. (can't post the link because i'm new)
I flashed my device using his rom and now it won't start up. Basically, it just shows a black screen and the background-light is on. It's probably because i didn't reset my device before flashing.
How do i get my phone working again? I prefer to go back to the stock software, because i'm too noobish for this anyway.
thanks
If your bootloader is locked, you can use SEUS to help you restore the stock software.
Likewise, you can use flashtool to flash a ftf file of the stock firmware.

I want to flash my Xperia Arc with the 2.3.3 xLoud update and with 2.3.4 afterwards.
I have two questions regarding the flashing;
1. Will flashing delete my installed apps and other files?
2. There are two versions available for flashing with 2.3.3; one is UK generic and the other one is Global generic. I've seen reports that the Global generic version has some 3G and WiFi problems......so is there any problem if I flash with UK generic?
NOTE: I have brought my handset from India and am living here as well.
Thanks in advance!
The guides are quite clear, so pick one and flash it.

ok.....
okay, this almost answers my query
Now, installing a rom like cyanogen mod performs a hard reset and delets everything on the phone.
So will flashing my arc with the se firmware also perform a hard reset or will my apps, contacts etc. still remain?
Just unthick "wipe userdata" in FlashTool and you'll keep everything.

Yoy didn't say what's your current version.
Just don't downgrade if you are on 2.3.4 already or u'll f*ck ur phone.
You can downgrade, but with special method.

I am sorry if this is in the wrong place, but i could not find a pro specific forum.
Anyway i have a potentially huge problem. I tried to install CyonagenMod 9 on my phone but now it just shows a black screen.
I had previously applied the official SE ICS update(build 4.1.b.0.431, i think), but it was really draining my battery and decided to try CyonagenMod.
Everything was going smoothly i unlocked the bootloader, then i flashed the boot.img and restarted the phone but nothing happened.
Is it because these instructions were meant for 2.3.x? Or something else?
And is my phone permanently damaged because of this?
Thanks for the help.

1.Does the flashing of the kernel went smoothly? Does it says "0 bad blocks encountered?" if not, maybe ur pc does not have some of the drivers needed to flash the kernel. This can be resolved by downloading and installing the appropriate drivers.
2.try flashing ur phone with stock sony .ftf firmware using flashtool.(doesnt matter its 2.3 or 4.0) and then try again installing cm9 rom if u wnt to

Yes kernel flashing wents smoothly 0 bad blocks.
I tried what you suggested and got my phone to work again. Then tried to install CM9 again, but got the same result as before.
There's a separate pro version for CM9. Are you flashing the arc version instead?

Hey you awesome dudes
I know there is a lot of threads about this topic but this own is a bit special
i flashed my xperia arc (LT15i) to 2.3.5 so i could root it and it went fine and i root it
then i tried to flash it to the ics firmware and then it went dead when i try to turn it on the led
flashes green and if i hold down menu and then power it vibrats that's it..
i can still flash firmware with flashtool with no problems at all.

you probably did not read the instructions careful enough.
you should indeed try to flash again stock and repeat the procedure.
always keep in mind that you need the proper pair kernel-ROM (most of ROM makers clearly mention what kernel should be used).
Hi Everyone
I unlocked my bootloader a few months ago, rooted, and I flashed a version of ICS, which I think is stock. I dont have receovery installed, I tried to sort that out last night, but I got lost amongst and couldnt work out what to install and how.
Its 4.0.4 - 6.1.A.2.45 - and I am having a few issues with it. It seems to be laggy, the camera freezes when recording video and often crashes and doesn't save the video and the WIFI is just hopeless!
Does anyone know how to fix this? Is there a better .ftp for me to flash? Please leave links if possible because this issue is just driving me insane!
thanks!
Amanda
hi, try to locked your bootloader then repair via pc companion.
and also, for your other question click my signature "Read ME".
If it's unlocked the bootloader then fastboot a custom kernel. Advanced stock is great. Then flash a custom rom. May as I flash a Jellybean rom

I just installed ROM manager and found out clockwork recovery doesn't work for us why does everything have to be so hard with this phone?

Just have a look at the custom kernels and chose one then fast boot or use the flash tool, cwm works for us

The only problem with this is, you need to flash the doomkernal, which requires flashing back to GB? Then you need to install a host of other apps to get it too work. Just so I can flash a custom rom, wow, nothing is easy is it,
This phone is just so damned hard to do anything with, I am considering going to the new Samsung when it comes out in a few months!
No just flash advanced stock kernel instead from development forum. It's ridiculously easy once you're unlocked and have a cwm kernel flashed
Download a custom rom to the phone (i recommend pac rom)
Download advanced stock kernel to pc. Fastboot using that guide.
Then boot into recovery and install zip from sd and pick pac rom (follow the guidelines in pac rom thread for flashing)
