Hey everybody. First time posting. Ive searched and searched and searched the forums but cant seem to find the answer i need. I have a rooted Verizon Gnex running stock 4.1.1. When the factory image for 4.2.2 was finally released, i DL'd is and tried to run the .zip. Only to find that it was erroring out. I decided to wait VZW pushed the official OTA update and try that. Well, it finally came through last night and, i wish i could say to my surprise, the same issue happened. After scouring the interwebs, the only thing i could find to fix it was to unroot my device. Now if that is the case, then so be it. But if i can avoid wiping my device, i would love that option far more. I also am attaching a pic of the error message that im receiving when i try and update.any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
you modified your build.prop
the error message even says thats the problem.
you need the stock build.prop to be able to take the OTA.
The error tells you what is wrong, it detects something different about your build.prop file. You need to get it back to stock.
E2A: I am redundant, and slow.

Thank you for such a quick response!!!!! Is there someplace that i can DL that and, if so, how would i go about installing it to the phone? Would it be a simple drag and drop?
Thanks again so much

the easiest way to fix your problem is to just flash the system image and nothing else in fastboot. there are several guides on how to do this.
if you want to find a download for the build.prop and change the permissions, you're welcome to try and find it.
Help me help me please, I'm so stupid , I have an AT&T S3 unlocked and I'm currently using Tmobile...
I rooted my phone, and I used DEBLOATER FREE, to debloat some of the stuffs in the list. I was actually being careful with the selection. Anyway, I deleted some files, and when I restarted the phone. I'm no longer getting signal. Can someone please help me. I need to get it fix soon. Any helps and advices at this point would be greatly appreciated. Please by the way, i tried to go to setting ->More setting->Mobile Networks, and it freezzed and received a message "unfortunately, settings has stopped"
I used mskip's tool to rooted my phone, if i used that tool to relfash my stock recovery, would this solve the issue?
or I'm on ICS 4.0.4 right now, If i Update the phone to JB would this solve the issue.
Let me add one more thing that, I rooted this phone a long time ago, today i was being stupid and debloat stuffs assuming it won't affect my phone much

First of, thanks you so much. I don't think you attach a link for me yet. A quick update, I checked my imei, and it said null/null. so if i used mskip tool to do a efs partition would that solve the issue?
I'm downloading the ics stock rom right now, and I will keep you update. I will probably do it, via mskip's tool. What I'm wondering is, if i used samsung kies and update to JB, would this solve the issue also?
the phone is working fine, it's just i can't make call

I did more research and I think I narrow it down to EFS, mb i deleted my efs folder while debloated my phone, or some random reason...do you know any possible fix? because I didn't back it up. if I'm to re flash stock rom, do you think it will fix this issue?
I found this guide right here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264021
so i re-flashed the stock rom using mskip tool, and now i can make call, but now i'm getting a bunch of messages like process android.process.acore has stopped, and touchwiz home error and i can't get pass that. Please Advise
[SOLVED] thank you so much, got everything back to normal. one more questions, since i re-flashed the stock rom, I can still access CWM recovery, but as i tried to install superuser, it said I can't...this is my first time so can you lead me to the right path?
Just re root your device using the same method.

Got it, Backed up and run as normal now. Thanks.
Hi!
I've got this display issue that needs to beresolved, so please someone help me!
Symptos: after random period of time(5s-?s)the touch display no longer responds, sometimes it's enough to turn the screen off and on again to bring it backmto life, but sometimes it needs to be rebooted even several times :-/
Factory reset won't help.
Any ideas?
I 've bought is as a used one with custom 4.2 and have no idea or experience how to replace the rom, if it's a software issue.
Dont't have the original stock rom either..
Is there a foolproof step-by-step manual for users 1.0 like myself?
Thank you, appreciate any help
P
Update:
Someone checked the phone and i was told that a ROM for One V was installed, and that simply replacing it won't help 'cause it had written things to different places than the stock one would, so it just cannot overwrite it..
Does this make sense to anyone??
Is there a way to fix it?
Pls!!
Thank You!
Could someone hook me up with an untouched copy of lg framework apk and framework apk por favor??
C'mon someone else besides me has to be still running stock.. It is a very easy copy and upload, please help a brother out.
Im sorry, I tried to be patient. I am pretty sure Ive helped more than a few people out around here. All Im asking for is about 5mins or less for someone to copy and upload these. I didnt screw anything up, just want to remove some mods I flashed a long time ago in which I no longer have a copy of.

Idk what your currently running, if its bone stock or what but you should be able to rip what you need from a rom download/. I unfortunately am running aosp or else I would help you in a heartbeat. There are alternate methods though!! good luck... also just came to mind, try pulling it from a nand or twrp backup.
Yeah I flashed these so long ago I dont have that backup anymore. Im pure stock as far as rom goes Im on 10m. I found some from 10c but its the framework and one thing you most definetly need the matching version of. I dont have my computer for a while so I cant return to stock and start over.
Thanks for the reply though.
Downloaded and extracted from zone rom.. All good now.
So I downloaded the stock image from microsoft for the duo, unpacked and made some changes that I would like to some of the img files (system, boot, etc). But I have not done a repack of the payload.bin file ever.
Does anyone know how to do that? This is the last step for me and I have been looking all over the place but cant find anything. Any help would be appreciated!
Did you ever figure this out?
No I still havent figured it out. Im so close to making the changes I need on my phone just need to figure out the repack.
