Hi,
Can anyone clear this up for me,I live in Ireland and still havent got the Xloud etc update and now the 2.3.4 update has come along and nothing.
I have called SE a couple of times but they said they have released it to everyone and is up to my phone provider which is Meteor,But I have a friend who works for meteor and said this is pure lies.
I have tried to connect to PC companion for update but says my phone is up to date but I have heard of people in Ireland with the Xloud update.
Just getting a bit frustrated here, Can anyone explain or help with this

Did your friend confirm your carrier has already released it?

Do you know anything about it or which way it works?
Not sure about update as I haven't the patience to wait for updates in ireland
Why not just update with flashtool to global 2.3.4

+1 Unlocking my boot loader was the best thing I've done to my phone yet, gone are the days of having to sit around waiting.

AH id be terrified to do that as much as id love to, seems like everyone is happy when they do it but id be afraid it would be too complicated and I would mess up my phone.
Thanks a million though for your reply. didnt expect a reply that quick
Actually, a question for the OP. I can't get my meteor Arc to boot into fastboot mode (or whatever it's called...the mode with the blue LED on startup) which leads me to believe it's carrier locked. Do you find the same? I haven't got the 2.3.4 update either.
If my phone is carrier locked, is there any way to upgrade besides through my carrier? This could be a real noob question!

Flashtool, which is stated in the stickys. ;-)
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
Hmm...I had tried that already and when it didn't work I put it down to a carrier lock thing. On reflection though I had been doing this on a virtual machine which could have caused my problems.
Thanks, and apologies for the noob-ness!
I dont wanna keep spamming Doomlords kernel Thread so i created a new one here.
The thing is that after flashing Doomkernel v11 (maybe the is not the reson) my gsm conection is completly broken. No calls, No SMS, No Data.
I tried flashing kernel v10, full wipe, flashing with flashtool fw .368, .42, .62.
Nothing of that changes anything.
please help me!
Have you overclocked your CPU?
Sent from my beautiful Xperia PLAY using xda premium
yes, but only up to 1.2 ghz but the new doomkernel wich maybe coused this has also gpu overclock. Could it be the reson?
Have you tried the repair tool in SE PC Companion (or is it SEUS?). I haven't used it since I had an x10 mini pro, but I remember it could solve all sorts of problems. Could be worth investigating

Hmm i have to lock my bootloader for that. Okay i will give it a try.
Tried it multiply times. Changed nothing.
First, don't worry! My friend had the same problems with radio in his Arc S...
This thing worked for him - It may sound stupid but turn off your phone, pull the battery and put your phone in some cool and safe place and don't use it for some time, a week or two.
At his case after about 12 days everything went back to normal and I don't f*cking know why
Cheers!

Hey Bro, feel bad for you
I remember it happened to me when I did something stupid with v10. And have no radio after that.
Don't know if this will work for you but what I did was flashed .42 first then it had signal and flashed .62 again and everything is okay now.
Have you tried flashing back to stock kernel?
Stock kernel is being flashed whenever you flash stock ROM.
Try writing to alejandrissimo, he had some fixes for broken radio.
Sent from my beautiful Xperia PLAY using xda premium
jep i contacet him, he said he can fix it but it coasts 24 dollar, i did not really understand why. But thats still much cheaper than if i send it to sony and they void my warrenty.... but i sended it to sony two month ago becouse of broken flexcable and that was completly free... hard decision...
This radio repair is paid because of setool credits that are needed to be used in order to repair your device using this software.
But you have warranty, 24$ is not much and if radio repair work for you, you will still have warranty in case of serious damage.
Cheers!

Thank you. I think i will pay it, its better than not having my phone for weeks...again...
No problem, good luck!

Have you tried other sim cards in the handset?
Sent from my Xperia Play using XDA App
He already did that, he said about that in DooMLoRD's thread about kernel.
Sent from my beautiful Xperia PLAY using xda premium
He tried his sim in another phone and it worked. I think he's sending it to Sony or getting the radio unbricked
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
Alejandrissimo really did it!! I paid him 20€, a bit more than he wanted and than he did it. Now it just works, i could not be happier.
So, we're still a pretty small group here in the Ion forum, and a lot of us are using BL locked AT&T phones. I bought the LT28i online, unlocked the bootloader and rooted the gingerbread that came on my phone as per the fantastic instructions by Spectre51 and yuunanase.
This is my primary phone, in fact I sold my Xperia X10 and Arc to cover the cost of the Ion, so i have no backup and nothing to switch to if i brick this thing. That said, in my situation, would you chance flashing the chinese ICS rom? or would you stick it out for the stock build for your region?
Simon
Nothing wrong with flashing the lt28h rom. You aren't going to see much different between it and what gets released in the next couple of months. I am loving my rooted lt28at on the ics firmware and international baseband. No issues and runs really well.

There's virtually no chance of bricking it, and if (on the off-chance it does happen), complain to anyone and everyone online that you got a defective product. It's worked for a few of my friends on more than a few occasions. Anyways, ICS is wonderful. I haven't found any blatent problems with it so far (other than when you first flash it, you have to go and change the language to English whilist in Chinese, which was a bit hard).

I would go for it. Starting from the L28i should be even easier than from the L28at. It at least saves you a step.

That happened to me the first time, but every other time it assumed I wanted English. That first time was amusing though. I had my Tablet S out and was comparing icons. Finally I just assumed usb debug and unknown apps were checked and moved on.

I have a ARC S, it is not locked to any network and has never been.
It is currently running Android 4.0.3. I wish to install android 4.0.4.
I did a freash install of 4.0.3 and it made thingsa much better.
I have no lagging, no crashing or any problems.
The only problem i have is Sony seem to have thier fingers stuffed up thier A**** as i have still not had the update sent to my phone even after trying PC companion and SEUS.
Is there a way i can fool the software into thinking my phone is from a different region that has already had the update.
I want to be able to update without having to wipe it.
Thank you

Dude, you're not the only one who's waiting. Just let Sony do their thing, they already said that the firmware will be released at the end of this month.

Sorry don't mean to be rude!
How do you know Sony are releasing it at the end of the month?
I have looked all over there forums and it seems to be full of people complaining that Sony never get back to them on updates.
The list with released SI numbers has been taken away.
Anyway thanks for your reply.

That was what Sony said at its forums. You can check the sony forums instead. Even so, don't be too enthusiastic with the update as it's not a major update. It only addresses minor issues and the kernel remains unchanged.

Its even easier than changing codes.
Just download flashtool and 587 Iberian Generic firmware. All languages are inside.
Check my post with picture in .13 thread in general section for how to fool it.
If still not working send me pm on Tuesday. I'll help.
Ignore above posts. They are thinking that you're on last 4.0.4 587 and waiting for even newer .13.
He's still on 4.0.3 562! Help him folks.

Could you provide a link to your post .13 with Your picture on it. I am having trouble finding it.
And yes I am still on the first Ice build released by Sony and have been waiting nearly a year for the second update.
Thank you

If you don't understand picture I'll explain on Tuesday.
On picture you can see how I forced it to provide 587 upgrade for UK. And I was on 587 already. Key is revision and customization.
R6D was lower number fw.

Success, I am now running android 4.0.4 on my ARC S.
Sony have not released the update for my SI number but I managed to fool the PC companion into offering the update.
I rooted my phone.
Used a Build.prop editor to change my I'd code.
Restarted my phone. The phone still would not update over the air, but when I plugged it into my pc and fired up PC Companion, it offered the new update.
All done,
Thanks for all the help

"Sony will shortly push out firmware build 10.5.A.0.233 to the older Xperia Z series including the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z. This new build follows on from the first Android 4.4.2 KitKat release (10.5.A.0.230) for these models and is likely to be a bug-fix release.
We already saw Sony’s workaround on the battery drain issues this morning, but hopefully the new update will go further to provide a more stable KitKat experience. We’ll let you know once the update starts to roll."
