I had 2.3.3 oficial update. I used revolutionary to s-off (with the oficial update i had 1.02.0001 hboot and after s-off i had 6.93.0002 hboot). After s-off i ran the shipped RUU and i am still s-off and 6.93.0002 hboot.
Is there a way to get back to 0.93.0001?
1) alpharev.nl is a website read each line of it
2) u have to read xda every day to understand all, then u can do things like root, s-off, custom roms...otherwise is better u enjoy ur stock phone as is

'' First rename the Bravo downgrader.zip to PB99IMG run it in HBOOT MODE, not recovry mode, aply the update, than you hboot will chance to '' ... 9999 '' , after that i had a RUU ZIPFILE, rename that also to PB99IMG run in HBOOT mode and you're done, yoo i learn this as wel!,
''
So did this bring your phone back to S-ON after you ran the RUU?
Aha it did work thanks

But how do I flash the downgrader??. If I double click on the downgrader it asks me what I want to use to burn the file?.
I am trying to get my wifes desire to have a custom rom as it keeps saying she is low on memory. I have used revolutionary to change from hboot 1.02 to 6.93 with s off but now do not have a clue what to do. I have been trying to read up on what to do all day but everything speaks as though I should know exactly what to do from the off!.
Give me my HD2 any day!!! lol
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks Scotty.

Download the img, rename it to PB99IMG.img and place it on the root of your sdcard. Then boot into hboot (while the phone is off, press volume down + power button), click vol up button to apply update and again to reboot. Now its flashed. Then you can continue with the RUU.

Why do you want to do that?
There is a downgrader.img on the alpharev website which if you fastboot flash it to replace the existing hboot, will then allow you to use a RUU. Choose a RUU that has the hboot you want and run it. Of course this will unroot your phone. What is your actual aim here?
Downgrade from HBOOT 6.93.0002 to 0.93.0001
Guys, if you ORIGINALLY had 0.93.00001 and ran the Revolutionary S-OFF program, it WILL update your HBOOT to 6.93.0002. This is a GOOD thing, you'll still be S-OFF'd but you'll be running the Gingerbread HBOOT version. It's always better to have the newer version of the HBOOT than the older version. As long as you're S-OFF'd, it really doesn't matter which HBOOT version you have, I just recommend the newer version. Thanks!

For your information, GB Hboot is 1.02.0001 not 6.93.0002. 6.93.0002 is revolutionary hboot and if htc sees that highly likely they will not place it under warranty.

Hi everyone I needed to dowgrade because I wanted to use Alex-V's new 1.7.5 HD rom wich requires custom hboot but apparently the revolutionary one is newer hence the need of dowgrade but it was all a bit confusing for me aswell (no ofence and big thanks to all of you that are trying very hard to make it as simple as possible for us) so at the end just before I give up I put the downgrade img from AlphaRev's site in android flasher and it was all done in 1.6sec
I hope that helps

bodoncel, the Hack Kit is to root and gain s-off. The downgrade procedure there is not for the hboot but for the firmware. It would be find just to find first why he need or wants to downgrade his hboot.

Maybe not break it but certainly corrupt it and then you have problems. That is why I am asking
I got my One X when they first came out, rooted it straight away and have been very happy. I'm running a JB AOKP ROM.
I've noticed a lot of talk about hboot versions, 1.23/1.28. My hboot is still 0.43. Am I missing anything? Does updating the hboot actually matter?
Thanks for any information

I have almost the same question : I would like to install the "Android Revolution HD 11.1" ROM and spent few days parsing the various post in the corresponding section of the forum.
The installation procedure states that to go to JB we need to have HBOOT v1.23. In addition it is indicated that :
{Do the following only if you have hboot version 0.43.
Download this ROM. You need to flash this RUU after you relock but before you flash firmware. Your hboot version will say 1.12}

My HOX indicates HBOOT v1.12 without any upgrade, do I need to upgrade it or not ?
Thanks in advance for your help

If you have 1.12, there is no need to upgrade to 1.12 before upgrading to 1.28.
To upgrade to 1.28, keep following the instructions.

Also, make sure you really do want to upgrade to 1.28 because without S-OFF you can't go back to an hboot with a lower version number.

Thanks for the warning. BTW, how do you check whether if your are S-ON or S-OFF ?
I have been able to define my HBOOT version and my CID but this info...
Is there any thread summarizing hot to get all details about the HOX ?
Thanks again.
At the top of the bootloader it says either S-OFF or S-ON
why ?

Yes(for both questions) and if anything goes wrong you can EASILY revert with a backup from your custom recovery (and flashing your old boot.img)
ok

So the hboot version only affects sense roms?
ifsow what does hboot represend ?
because i dont get why would it be good for sense roms but not for non sense roms on the same device.
they have to update or fix some things in those different version right ?
at the start of last year a fix whas published for the bad battery life.
The fix whas supposed to add 10 to 20 % to battery life.
just now i saw a post from somebody asking how to do this fix and they told him it whas fixed in version 1.28 / 1.29
it whas not clear to me if they where refering to hboot version but i think they did.
i'm pretty confused about this, could you help me clarrify a bit ?
hi, i am thinking of selling my htc desire and would like to know if there is a way to reset all that I have done to it.
1) I Have S-OFF my phone and changed the splash screen to a custom one and would like to know if there is a way to revert it back to the original htc splash screen, (EDIT: i THINK I FOUND THE SOLUTION TO THIS 1ST PROBLEM ON TROUBLESHOOTING RESOURCES) - if theres a easier way please let me know
2) is there a way to unroot my phone
3)Where can i find the original htc sense rom?
Ive changed all these things (splash screen, rom) quite a while ago, so forgive me if i forgot to tell you guys something.
thanks!
If you have changed you hboot then you must first flash the downgrader hboot found here. (Download the PB99IMG file). If you have never changed hboot, dont worry about doing this.
Then you just need to flash an RUU. This will return you to s-on and give you the stock 2.3 gb sense rom. You can download the RUU here.
To install PB99IMG files read this guide.

Hi, is there a guide to do this for a noob?
I tried this and its not detecting the phone. Reading some guides online, im a little confused. They say you need to root it first, then do a nandroid backup, because it wont load the ROM otherwise. I thought that alpharev.nl rooted the phone too, but it seem not to be the case, its just s-off. Any help?

If it's not detecting your phone then the drivers are not installed correctly. This will not root your phone. This will S-off and install a custom recovery. Once a custom recovery is installed you can then do a Nandroid back up (for safety) and flash whatever suitable ROM you choose. If you want to stay on stock ROM but rooted you can flash superuser through recovery.
