OK..... So the charging port was acting funky so I went ahead and bought one online. It was ready enough to replace but after I finished the install and plugged it in the only thing that happens is the charging symbol comes on the screen and then a full battery symbol. I have tried....
New charger cord
Hooking it up to my laptop and tried to use nexus toolkit
Put old USB board back in.
Checked all internal connections........
I am open for any suggestions........
Thanks

check the power ratings on your charger and the one supplied with the gnex. possibly you are supplying too little
I had that, was the cable. Got a new one, it works again

i'm now try to charging in the wall not at the pc with another cable(i have another stock cable from friend) and i will see
the problem start just yesterday it was till then normally
Clean the charging port with a q-tip (with phone turned off and battery out). If that doesn't work you can check if the pins are bent slightly downwards?
If they are bend them slightly up again so they don't touch anything.
If that doesn't help your last option is to replace the charging board.
Swype'ed on my CM10 Galaxy Nexus
ok
i open the gnex according to thise
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sD6LRfJHSk

hi all

If Your phone is running battery intensive apps its gunna take longer to charge. For instance...if I'm running navigation with music and the screen is on high brightness I will still LOSE power while I'm charging on my trucks USB.

Something wrong with your charger. Try another charger, if it charges ok with another charger then obviously your charger is at fault. Get a replacement from Samsung.
Thanks mate..will try that

Make sure you use the charger provided. The note 2 uses 2mA. Most phones use 1mA.

That would be 2 A and 1 A, not mA!!

Make sure you are using the same cable as provided. One time I changed to a different and longer cable and it took forever to charge.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
+1, the longer cable also not able to withstand charge while using the phone...
I accidently connected my 1tb hard disk to my cell via usb host..it stuttered then stopped charging.after reboot it did charge but could not host a pendrive it earlier could!what could be wrong..i am very scared.please help
You accidentally attached it? Did the cable fall in? Lol.
Have you tried pulling the battery out for a minute or two and seeing is it works after that?

Well topic says it all. I have a phone that has a busted port. I tried to one click restore back to stock when the port died so not only does it have a bad port it failed during flashing so it can't even boot up. What options do I have?

Questions go in Q & A forums.
How do you know port is bad?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Depends on where in the process the flash failed, it could be hardbricked or may need to be jtagged to rewrite the bootloader. If it won't boot into download or recovery mode and only has a solid blue led then its toast. Otherwise with a bad port and no OS you dont have many options. I honestly dont even think there's a way to flash something from stock recovery without a USB port or OS to move the zip into cache so stock recovery can flash it. And the only other option is Odin which again without a working USB won't do you any good. And like blues said questions go in Q&A you know Q(uestions)&A(nswers)

Sorry about wrong forum.
The phone can go into recovery and download mode. I am assuming the port is broke BC I can't charge the battery through it and the computer doesn't recognize the phone when plugged in and in download mode.
This is what I feared! So phone is pretty much a paperweight. Arg...
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
Well I take it back, I think only a couple pins in the port is broken BC I can use the USB jig to get the phone into download mode. So the port is not completely broken. I don't know what pins are used for whatever process but charging and data sync no gooo. I have tried several dif cables including the Samsung one and a blackberry one.

Tried a different usb cable? Maybe the male pins are borked. I had one that got slightly bent and it wouldn't charge for sh*t but would let me transfer files just fine go figure

Well then you are screwed. Good luck getting a new phone if $40 is too much to send it out, get it fixed and have it back where you can flash it all day long.
Been running macks rom ljc for about 2 weeks now and have been noticing when I plug up my phone to charge at night it has a delayed response to notify me thats its charging..but today it has completely stopped charging. Nor will it connect to my pc. My wife has the same phone and her cord wouldn't work for mine either. Can anyone help?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
Uh oh im extra carefull when plugging it in. Theres teeth on the charger (UsB) that are missing. Think the port of the note 2 is like this or maybe im the only one dont snap like it does on the s3
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
My cord works just fine for my wife's. Does that mean its the port on my phone? ?
