[DEV] update to unlimited + UI >> tabs STOCK BROWSER for i9100

UPDATE: on 22-11-2011
I could update the number of tabs that can be opened to unlimited,
there is one stupid thing that Samsung made
the number of tabs that in the widget is refereed to an image but not counter
so u will see the number of opened tabs as a digit is stuck at 8
bqz if we need to make it go on one by one we have to add image for each new tab with its value in public and also have to modify some smali files by doing additional lines in browser activity which is something stupid bqz there is no limit to stop in !
any way here is the modded file with UT (unlimited tabs) and UA (user-agent)

Some people are ignorant. Some people are just rude. Some people are Trolls.
These people will always exist. That is no reason for you to stop doing what you do well. Many people do appreciate your work.
Keep up the good work.

It's a nice feature to have, the phone can handle it + it's always handy to browse the subforums and open many threads for later reading, instead of going back and forth.
A feature I miss from 2.2 (Froyo) Browser was the ability to close the tab, even if it's only one. Since the browser doesn't have a dedicated home button, that was the only way to go back to home page. Can this feature be added at all? I've seen a lot of browser mods and none have this.

Aww, too bad I can't use this, I'm on stock ROM, not deodexed.
Still, this is very cool, I am hitting the "8 windows wall" quite often.
Could this maybe be compiled into a "regular app", so one can install it along the system browser and use it on any ROM?

well, there is a chance to work for u
first of all backup ur (browser.apk &browser.odex) files
then delete both from system/app
add this modded browser.apk file
reboot
just tell me if it does work to make CWM file for everyone

Untouched (besides root) stock KI8 Samsung ROM.
The "Windows" button in the menu caps out at 8 (stays at 8 after the 8th window) and the "open new window" animation is a bit borked as well - but I don't care about those details, important thing is: 16 windows/tabs open at once

I'd use 32 tabs if I could, I'm a messy when it comes to open windows, you should see my desktop browser XD

I've been having a little play with AOKP/AOSP ICS contacts dialer and such as i think it looks dog ****.

The boxes are confined to the original sizes so any bigger might cause problems.

Its bug with the site. All attacthments are downloading 554kb regardless of the size.
Ive changed the links to mediafire.

I've added a smoked glass version to the 1st post. Its set at 30% black, if you would like it more transparent let me know.
It's not so much the fact that people leech, it's that they contribute nothing to the forum.
XDA should set it up so you can only view links and stuff by posting into the thread or hitting thanks like alot of other sites, it might encourage people to be more involved.......
.....and when that happens Liz Hurley will come knocking on my door accompanied by a Leprechaun riding a Pegasus holding a bucket of gold, (the leprechaun not the pegasus, horses dont have hands!!)

You mean are they multi dpi?
I have no idea as I don't use different dpi's but I'd guess no as I've only modified the hdpi images.

24 hours on, countless downloads, and no one is willing to spend a couple of minutes to post a screen shot in return for the hours I spent creating the theme??

It's ok mate, there were many downloads other than you who could have posted a screen.
It doesn't matter now anyway as I've had enough of the leeches around here and locked all my links. I'm going to go down a different road from xda.
By the way I think I'm going to give your rom a try, you seem to have the same principles as me regarding donations and such.

STEPS TO HACK​
1. PRESS THE LOCKSCREEN BUTTON TILL YOU GET THE SITCH OFF MENU
2. PRESS THE HOME KEY UNTILL YOU GET THE RECENT APPS
3. TAP ON TASK MANAGER
4. GO TO RECENT APPS
5. END GO LOCKER (or any other locker, its always there)​

LOL, it isnt hacking..and this is a very basic trick to get out of any 3rd party locker.
You can stop "HACKING"(LOL) by disabling home button in options (Go locker, widget locker etc has this option)

You're doing it the long way genius. All you have to do is long press the power key and then the home key. You dont really have to go to the task manager and close the app.

1. call the mobile u want to "hack"
2. answer the call from that phone
3. press the home button
4. Cut the call from ur mobile
5. YOU ARE DONE !!​

Phase Beam Wallpaper using Data?

I was just checking on where I stand with this months data usage and I noticed that the Phase Beam live wallpaper was the highest data hog this month. 1)Why is a live wallpaper using data if it has nothing to do with retrieving information of any type? And 2) Why is it doing it when I have never used it as a wallpaper?

That's a dumb awnser.... phase beam is a STOCK live wallpaper no ads....... but that is very odd that its using data I've used that live wallpaper but it never showed any data at all

If you're rooted (and if not, why not!), you can use es explorer (very useful! ) and find it likely under /system/app or /data/app. Then you can copy it to your sdcard and do whatever with it.

Has anyone found a reason for phase beam using data?

I cracked open the apk originally provided and went through the code. There is absolutely no indication of network access anywhere.
So, I'm wondering how you're seeing data being used by phasebeam and exactly how accurate that determination is. I see the image in OP, but that doesn't make any sense at all. :/

I know on my Skyrocket when I would remove an app that used data or disabled an app that used data the stock data manager would assign whatever data usage of the app removed to another app or just show a green Android next to an amount of data. I have no idea how it would choose.

This is a simple exploit!! I will show how it worked for me and it will help you too.
Requirements:
1. Light flow 3.9.1 [Not the free one , but its fine.. its worth ]
2. Backup File which is loaded with settings!! Please find in attachment..
3. ROOTED device
4. 4.2.2 ROM, you are free to test on all other ROM versions.. its your device...
Note: works in CM 10.1 too. ( tested by @xenon92)

1. Install Light flow 3.9.1
2. Extract the backup file and Paste Backup file in Computer\GT-I9082\Phone\lightflow Note: Its MTP. All my pro members know that its internal memory... :highfive:

3. Open Light flow and Tools>Restore>2013-08-20
4. Most important, GRANT/ACCEPT superSU permission. It will ask you, as you restore the backup.
5. Turn it on at accessibility options.. if it gives error than its for language setting. Fix it by selecting same language of your device.
You are done!!

Add On to Notification light on post one..
As users can observe that touch key led notification via light flow is solid.. But as per findings by @evil22 and also by @xenon92, this notification light can actually blink..
The steps for setting up this are as follows;
Step up ButtonLed for Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos

Install it, grant permission...
Let the app auto locate the brightness
After that turn ButtonLed on in accessibility
WARNING: test option in ButtonLed will only work as you turn off screen immediately after opting test option...
Ok so now we have a notification light for our Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos i9082...

As you suggested, I mailed the developer team.
To Developers,
Repeated sir/madam,
Thank you for your application, which helped me to get back light notification control on my samsung Galaxy Grand Duos GT-I9082 4.2.2.
But as your application has only one option for touch keys notification "solid" its a bit umamusing.
I am requesting you to please develop your application setting for touch keys noticafication as "blink" too.
Thank you and do respond. I and all samsung galaxy Grand Duos GT-I9082 community on xda is waiting for it. You will get lots of users.

currently on vacation/holiday.
For questions regarding Light Flow - we typically get 50-200 e-mails
per day and try to reply to them all. It is not going to be feasible
over this period to reply or catch up on these e-mails as there is
only myself who supports our applications.

This has been a hard decision to make, but I hope you will understand
why over this period questions regarding light flow cannot be

monitoring our servers as much as possible (if we find suitable wifi
hotspots) and will try to respond ASAP.
