Locked the hboot and can't unlock it again - HTC One X

Hi guys .. I tried to install hboot 1.36 to get rid of the sensor problem as in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922203 .. anyway something must have gone wrong with the flashing and now it is written in hboot that its version is 1.39 which is not supported according to my CID "HTC_J15" .. and now the recovery is erased and I've tried many times to re install it using the fastboot but when I restart the phone into recovery it displayes the icon for "no recovery" .. can you please help me to return to RUU or to install recovery in any way .. thanks in advance

Give me the output of
fastboot getvar version-main
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app

Actually hboot 1.39 is correct. The firmware might contain some wrong info but is 100% correct. And you cant flash any other firmware. It will stall on the flash and gives an error. So my guess its all oke.
Fastboot flash unlocktoken unlock_code.bin
With the file in the Fastboot folder will unlock the bootloader.
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Fastboot erase cache
With the recovery in the Fastboot folder it must flash it.
Do the commands give you a OKEY message after flashing ?

Unlock the bootloader as suggested by Mr Hofs and flash the latest CWM recovery.
Then restore this backup - http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/199-cwm-nandroid-backup-cid-htc-j15-3164154/
Also flash the boot.img from the backup. Then you'll be back to stock.

stuck on HTC quietly brilliant screen :(

I have just tried to do a restore from a backed up rom using recovery and it wont go past the HTC logo screen.
I have wiped all settings but still no luck
Help needed please
Go into bootloader mode (vol down + power), fastboot, type 'fastboot erase cache' 'fastboot reboot-bootloader', and then reboot.

So you have re-locked the bootloader and have a stock recovery right? Try erasing the cache in fastboot.
I think the command is "fastboot erase cache" but I'm not 100% sure on the command.
NVM, UnlockedNand has got this one.

Flash a new boot.img according to the rom you are flashing. Superwipe, and then flash the rom.

This is the exact solution which worked. I was stuck after I unlocked my Sprint HTC Evo 3D via htcdev.com. I did these steps:
1. "fastboot flash boot boot.img" (extracted from Cool ICS rom)
2. Wiped everything including partitions using 4EXT
3. Installed Cool ICS rom
Thanks!!!
tried flashing jb hd revolution rom and now stuck here.
force restart takes me here and hold vol down does nothing?

You cant flash any JB rom because your hboot do not support them. Only the aosp roms probably work like CM10. I suggest you update your hboot first to JB
Do the fastboot command
Fastboot getvar version-main
Fastboot oem readcid
Post them back and i provide 2 options to update the hboot

You can do this :
Download this file
http://androidfiles.org/ruu/securek...Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_274900_signed.exe
Put the phone in the bootloader and lock it
Fastboot oem lock
It will reboot and there will be some warning sign in the bootloader, keep it there and execute the RUU from the PC with admin rights. Click the ruu.exe with the right mousebutton and select
Run as admin (or similar command)
Note : this will flash the phone to full stock. After the ruu you boot into the phone and check manually for updates to JB !
Second option :
Go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376
Download the firmware package for your CID and rename it to firmware.zip
Put the phone in the bootloader and lock it
Fastboot oem lock
Then perform the next commands
Fastboot oem rebootRUU (bootloader reboots)
Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
This will update the hboot only .....
After this you unlock the bootloader again and flash the custom recovery, flash the boot.img from the Rom and do a new clean install of the rom

[Q] Bricked One X (Black screen with silver htc logo)

I have searching for a solution here for last 2 days but couldn't find one
Problem :
My one x is displaying black screen with silver "htc" logo. It does not boot in bootloader or recovery. Although fastboot commands are still running on this blackscreen.
What I did
I successfully unlocked my one x and installed paranoiandroid but when I started using it my phone began to hang and the touch was disable.
Then I read the post for getting bavk to stock using RUU. I followed these step.
- checked my phone version using "fastboot getvar version-main"
- downloaded "RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.17.707.3_Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_278245_signed"
- unlocked the bootloader "fastboot oem lock"
- Ran the RUU exe file.
Now the RUU is giving an error the RUU is not correct but it is the same version which I get from "fastboot getvar version-main" and now my phone is only displaying the black screen with sliver "htc" logo.
I shall be grateful if someone can provide a solution to my problem. Thank you.
try 'fastboot reboot-bootloader' or 'fastboot oem reboot-bootloader' (forgot which one).
Then try find a correct RUU to flash or just flash a custom ROM.

Yes it is giving the same version and I have downloaded the exact RUU version still RUU fails to complete its setup stating "not correct RUU, download the correct file"
I was searching for a solution and found that RUU setup also works if the RUU version is an updated version with same region e.g x.xx.707.x.
I have downloaded RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_3.14.707.24_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_296434_signed. Should I try this?

U need to RELOCKED your bootloader.
Please google how to extract boot_signed.img , recovery_signed.img and rom.zip from RUU. After u've extract those, flash boot_signed and recovery_signed first. Then boot to recovery, flash your rom.zip and only after that u run the RUU. Give it a try.

Thank you. My cidread returns HTC_044. Also I have logged into bootloader screen again. I just ran the Unlock_bin file I received during rooting my device and now my phone isn't displaying the black screen and finally entered bootloader.
The problem I figured out was my bootloader was relocked and my RUU setup failed, so I had a custom rom installed with locked bootloader. That's why the phone was bricked I wan't entering bootloader.
Now I can access my recovery as well.

Sir here it is.
Version-main: 3.14.707.24
cid: HTC_044
SIR i also have a backup of my stockROM. before i changed my rom to a customrom.
Your PM replied for RUU method.
To use your backup to revert to stock, Mr Hofs will explain further I guess..
Mr Hofs mate.. you are really helping a lot of people here... keep up the good work. Kind of busy at the moment.
Thank you mate ! Nice words there im going for recognized helper of the year
Well the nandroid backup is easy,
Copy the nandroid backup to the phone Sdcard, copy the boot.img from inside the backup folder to the fastboot folder on the pc. The folder should look like this
The folder on the sdcard should look like this
Clockworkmod\backup\*date and time folder*\*backup files*
Flash the boot.img with the phone in fastboot usb mode using these commands
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot erase cache
Then unplug the cable and enter the recovery, do a full wipe there. Wipe all caches and dalvik cache. Under the advanced button you find - format data, format system, format cache (just wipe it al except sdcard) and even do a factory reset
Then press backup & restore and restore the complete backup
Then reboot the phone to see if it works....if it does you have to put the phone back in fastboot usb mode and flash the stock recovery .....this one
http://db.tt/C1SWP2ZJ
Rename this file into RECOVERY.IMG
phone in fastboot usb menu again and use this command
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
After this you only have to relock the bootloader with the fastboot command
Fastboot oem lock (ofcourse again with the phone in fastboot usb menu)
Reboot and you have a full stock phone
Thanks a lot. Will the ruu method also flash the stock recovery? And will there be a problem about the boot.img? Because i am s-on?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
No S-on is not a problem, a RUU flashes back the boot.img and the stock recovery. You only have to relock the bootloader.
But i ran trough the htcruu site but in the quick glance i didn't see your RUU there .... I say do the nandroid backup restore as i described and you will be fine
I found your RUU
http://d-h.st/rTT
Now you have the choice
Ah i see. Cause ckpv5 gave me ruu of 3.14.707.24 isnt that the right file?

It's the same file.
So for the RUU method (as mentioned in PM)
Relock the bootloader
Run the RUU, it will replace all the recovery and boot.img to stock.
Yes that's right, i didn't know he send you the ruu already
And yes a ruu goes this way
Put the phone in fastboot usb menu and perform a fastboot command to relock the bootloader
Fastboot oem lock
After that keep the phone in fastboot usb menu and run the ruu.exe from the pc with admin rights !
Did the ruu method relocked bootloader first then ruu. It was successful is this the stock recovery??
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Yes that looks like the stock recovery , when you are in that screen you can push volume up and the power button .....then you enter the stock recovery
I assume you executed the oem lock command .... that should have locked the bootloader ....
You can check also by entering the bootloader, it says relocked at the top
Yes! Thanks a lot mate! Now i hope htc would accept this for warranty

[Q] Updating Hboot from 1.28 JB to 1.39JB

Hi,
I currently running ARHD 18.1 Rom with the stock rom provided. The issue i have is when i try to install any other kernal for this rom, i loss my mobile network, wifi, etc.
I assumed the issue was due to the incorrect hboot (I'm currently on 1.28). I see 1.39 is out for my CID. So was thinking of flashing that. Was wondering if it was just good enough to go to fastboot and flash this new hboot 1.39. Or do i have to wipe my device, flashboot the new hboot, recovery, boot, rcdata.img? And then re install the ARHD 18.1?
Thanks in advance
Well you can go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376
Download the matching firmware for your CID, obtain the correct cid with a fastboot command
Fastboot oem readcid
When you have the correct firmware you rename the package to firmware.zip
Then you put the phone in the bootloader and lock the bootloader
Fastboot oem lock
Then you perform the firmware flash
Fastboot oem rebootRUU
Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
Before the flash you don't have to wipe anything. Just lock the bootloader and perform the hboot firmware flash.
After that you unlock the bootloader and flash the rom again with a full wipe.
Edit : about the kernel thing, when you change kernel (boot.img) you flash the boot.img and then install the .zip file in recovery to add the right modules to the rom

[Q] HTC one X freezing on every rom

Hi,
Today i tried to install the MIUI rom for my HTC one X, but it kept freezing after 20 seconds.
So i flashed the backup i made before i flashed the MIUI rom, but it froze.
After that i tried to flash a backup i made about a month ago, but didnt work either.
Please help, many thanks
Did you flash the boot image from the miui ROM zip? And when flashed your backups did you reflash the boot img from the backups ?. Last but not least , did you fastboot erase cache after flashing each rom ?

Thanks to reply so fast,
i did flash the boot.img from the zip of the MIUI. but did not fastboot erase cache.
After i installed the MIUI rom, i booted my device several times and could get passed the bootlogo, but it just freezes after 30 seconds or so.
So i decided to flash those backups, without reflashing the boot.img (thought the backup restores those) niether did i fastboot erase cache.
so now he freezes on the bootlogo after 3 second or so.
Seems to me that you didn't wiped properly, or your hboot is to low maybe ?

Uhm no the new custom recovery is here.....this one works fine for me

And if you still have the unlock file, then you can flah it right away
Fastboot flash unlocktoken unlock_code.bin
If you haven't got one you must make one indeed via the HTC devsite
