I took lots of video at my Nephews Bday party during weekend finding long charge times though out the week.,,,,like 4.5 hours to full charge.
I did some searching around leading me to Video Player being the culprit
Some explanation:
When device is put on charger Stock Video Player becomes active Transcoding is constantly running video thumbnails in background cranking up cpu.
If you have large video files , movies etc app is working harder and with that comes slow slow charge.
For the fix I made edit to TranscodeReceiver.smali applying return-void to (const-string v1, "android.intent.action.ACTION_POWER_CONNECTED")
With this modification app sleeps until you wake it.
How to Install:
No need the clear cache.
Make back up.

Right on well it has nothing to do with his rom......Its the Sammy Video Player, apk , sometimes it plays nice & sometimes not cycling stored video when charging.
Ive come across long charge days in the past but never really caught my attention until hours of video was stored on device.
4.5 hour charge was a wake up call for me . Why in the heck Sammy has Video player run in background when charging device is beyond me....pretty stupid on their part really.
S3 owners have been dealing with this issue for sometime reporting bad results , long charge time & bricked device due to overheat when charging.
Luckily are device is rock solid no major overheat issues reported so were safe on that front.
As far as ICSP The current base is same as CR4.9 so all is good.
I do plan on updating theme but pretty busy building rom for it now.
Like to report that I installed this mod and it has changed my charging times dramatically. My charging times have been very slow since installing CR4.9 and now after the install my charging time is faster than it has ever been. Big thanks to sling for his mod! :good:

freeze it? If you mean disabling app that's not possible.
If you stop app in running apps it will restart when charging.
You could rename app using root explorer....something like VideoPlayer.apk.NA
Such edit will make app absent.
Best bet install OP version & install secondary app from playstore if wanted

Sorry I mean like Titanium Backup you can freeze apps or uninstall them useing the app. I should have been more specific. But by removing it or freezing should solve the issue correct?

Give it a go & plug into charger , If app doesn't show itself in running apps your good.
From my understanding, the videos are being transcribed so that there are animated GIFs that play in the "Thumbnail" pane. If all videos are transcribed to their respective GIFs, wouldn't the long charge time go away?

Just tested, mine crash too :/ (DocRom 9.5)
Edit : even after a reboot.
Also, moving into the song is a little bit buggy (sometime can't move backward or forward twice, screen doesn't respond), not a big deal.
Anyway, thanks for the hint nanu_x2, first impressions : look very nice!
The player seems to work fine, apart from audio skipping when trying to run in background.
I am on latest docrom js5, using wp7 theme on 200dpi.
Also running latest speedmod with all audio enhancements on.
Still buggy on JS5 doc rom I tried to open it twice and it had an instant FC. I could open it on the third try...

Doubt its a "ROM" issue. Judging by those apps, its not passing some sort of authentication check within those apps.
*Notification* led works fine. The Samsung implementation as it is on stock doesn't work, which makes sense.
Plex works, you just have to set it up right.

Call Echo and Netflix
The only real issue I'm having now is the echo that the person you call hears that started when the fix was added for being unable to hear phone calls on answer (until you toggled speaker). I see there is a merge regarding audio in the latest nightly (0823), but it specifically references d2usc not d2att, so I'm not sure it even applies, even if it is related to this issue. Does anyone know if the echo on the other end is still present after 0823?
Other issues I still have even after a full wipe, but that aren't as important (and are otherwise well-known), are the inconsistent wake behaviour of the home button (just use power button instead), and occasional screen flicker when you don't disable hardware overlays. There's also the >160 character SMS thing, but mine seems to split the messages in half OK (instead of sending it as one message, which would be preferable).
As for Netflix I do not use it, but when browsing the changes at r.cyanogenmod.com a few days ago I came across one that stated in the comment that it was to fix the Netflix issue for our phones. It wasn't merged at the time, though, and I can't seem to locate it now. I'll post it if I do so you can watch if/when it gets merged. Either way, they are aware and working on the issue, and it seems to be fixable with ROM changes.

Ok so my thoughts so far after using the latest build (08/23) is that its good and I will use it as my daily driver, a few things here and there that I miss from touchwiz, but overall its an awesome rom hiccups here and there, but stable enough as a daily driver.

I gave up on the preview build a few weeks ago, but it's much better now. I won't consider going back to stock until JB is officially released.
...unless I change my mind before then.
That setting will basically stream the movie without any type of transcoding or compression which defeat the purpose of using Plex. Also you will not get audio on any video unless is only stereo. The purpose of Plex is to be able to stream your movie collection without having to worry about compatibility with your device.

Can this work with MK5? I purchased Anker 7200 battery and was experiencing a big impact on my signal strength. Was about to return the battery when I read about MK5 modem and decided to give it a shot and it has really made a big change. When I first got the battery I was down to 1/2 to 1 bar in my house. Yes, I sent it back already and Amazon sent me the refund pretty quickly, shipping too. I'm already on MK5 modem because I'm also on Boost but the loss of signal was pretty bad for me. If I was in a low signal area, I could see the antenna connect and reconnect over and over. Plus the problem happened the entire time I had the battery installed. Once I reinstalled the stock battery, everything went back to normal. It's a shame but you know how each of these phones are a little different from each other.

Bummer.
When the call is recording, do you have to have the speakerphone on in order to record the other party? I use Automatic Call Recorder from the play store and you must have the speakerphone on in order for it to record the other person's voice. So I think it is only recording the mic input.
A port from a S3's CM12 ROM for the [SGH-T399] Samsung Galaxy Light .
DISCLAIMER READ EVERYTHING BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS. This ROM was built for the T399, even though it was built on a rom that presumably worked on both models. People with Metro encounter FCs and Reboots when using High Accuracy GPS.
Android Version:5.0.2
With @Unjustified Dev's CM12 Build (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001602113) as a base (Thanks for your service!)
Also the Light in the name isn't because of it's size (yet(?))
Bugs:
- stock Cam still iffy, 3-rd party cam apps work. From personal use, Focal (by CM) works great, Cam Mx is good too.
- Prox/light sensor for telephony (off display when phone to ear) is iffy as well. From my use Gravity Screen has trouble using the light sensor when the flip cover option is not selected (6/10), when it is toggled the use is 8/10. Interestingly, when calling the screen turns off when close to ear flawlessly, sometimes it might not turn back on tho.
- Report if I left some out
--Streaming apps (Netflix, YT, Play Movies) has been reported to be not working. Some report that it's dependent on the .apk version. On the latest ver. of YT it works with no problems on various resolutions.
Oh and also.
I am not responsible to any damage to your device, PLEASE do a Backup of the device on TWRP.

I'd like to thank you for supporting and testing this and helping to build support for this great device. :highfive:

(Dirty) V0.2.2 https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347773480 - build.prop battery tweaks, added cam permissions in the boot.img, let's see if that makes a difference.

When you upload, since you'll be putting both up, you should put vanilla in the name OR just code them with a V in the name. Like CM12-light+0.2V

Yh I was meaning to do that, I'll add it when i get to uploading the dirty build.

Downloading CM12-light+0.2 will give you update when I flash
Edit: only improvement I've found is the proximity sensor. It seems to be a huge improvement. Idk if I just got lucky but it didn't turn the screen on at all

Oh I also added an AOSP Camera app there, did it replace the older AOSP one? Are there 2 instances of the app? How does it work for you?

I only have one camera app (as far as stock goes) and its the same one as before. Still takes a picture but doesn't save it or anything.

So whats the difference between v0.1 and 0.2?
This is not my creation, but it took me a long time to find this and it actually works, so I am going to post a link to the other XDA thread to make it easy to locate.

My WiFi and calls work. The camera was glitchy but if that bothers you, remove it with a system app uninstaller and replace it with one you prefer. I also did not care for lawnchair or trebuchet launcher so I replaced them with pixel launcher(also here on XDA).
I have not noticed any other bugs so far in the past 24 hours I've been using the ROM. Make sure you flash all the zips, there are a couple of zips with the ROM that fix things. Also take a moment to give the developer a thank you, its a fully functional oreo on s6 edge +!
Thanks for reading, enjoy the upgrade to Oreo
Zenlte moddified lineage 15.1/nexusOS for s6e+ done by myself. I did some stuff to get the camera going a bit better. Lower res to 1080p. The full thread is in the s6e+ t mobile forum under android development the original rom and kernel are in the link above at the top.

Forgot to mention pixel has an app you can get that allows you to install icon packs and change names of apps.
A peek at the about.
That rom is still not stable enough.

I fixed the battery life with kernel auditor and replaced the video/camera with s different one. Then I removed the init.d and reinstalled it to get proper access, also used a different super user then the one provided. I've got xposed running with busybox and amplify. I'm not a dev but I am in college studying computer programming. My take on this ROM is if you know your way around your droid well and can invest some time any bug in it is fixable. The battery could be improved more by using a different kernel or editing the one contained in this ROM to add more governor settings and tweeks. I reached out to the ROM developer on that subject, with any luck they will look into it.

Mine stutters a bit but not too bad. I removed the camera and then flashed the s6 edge camera instead of the s6 and it improved a fair bit. Luckily I do not use Bluetooth audio so in my case only recording videos has a bug still and its not a deal breaker as I walk around with my s6 e+ as my surfing and calls device and my s7 is my music and gaming device. So for me I just record with s7 if I need video while I try to fix it. Once I figure it out I will share the details.

If its your second device then it can be used, but as primary device rom is not stable enough.
Error logs for camera.
Logs
I'm not an expert but this seems to be a Java runtime error. I have to really get down to the core and look now. The only time I encounter an error with parsing an int is when the syntax is wrong, like trying to parse an invalid type to an int. I'm starting to believe I'm going to need to remove all traces of the camera from the droid 100% and try flashing zips from different models until it works. Or sit down with eclipse and go through line by line and solve the exceptions Java is throwing.

I got HD working for photos and videos but now the video frame freezes like its a photo and only audio records. Argh
OK I got it. If you edit the settings in the native app and drop video recording from 4k to 1080 it improves a lot. And open camera from the play store looks / sounds a bit better for video. I can now record videos in HD and its not choppy or laggy. VoIP is also working. Besides the Bluetooth issue that you mentioned which I can not test to troubleshoot I don't know of any remaining issues. Have you tried removing Bluetooth drives and files reinstalling it?
Bluetooth-audio doesn't work on my SM-G928F. NFC, WiFi-Direct and AndroidBeam are also not working.

Have you tried not removing the NFC and seeing if it boots?
So the pre installed camera works on and off due to runtime errors and conflicts stemming from Exynos camera3. The files are named camera 2 but logcat shows camera 3. I tried cyanogen but I get the error that it can't find media recorder. I'm going to try installing media recorder and seeing if it works with the cyanogen camera. Fingers crossed

I'm hearing camera 2 API is not fully supported on the s6 devices. This could be the issue. However if I am correct that sucks. Because I can not just swap API. I would have to talk to the dev and he or I would have to reduild the ROM using media recorder API if that's possible in Oreo. I assume it would still work despite being depreciated by Google and it's java.
