Happened to my wife's phone, i had enough charge to where I could get into the bootloader and do a reboot and plugged the charger back in and it booted up and charged. It almost happened again tonight, the screen was dark when she plugged it into the charge then 5 mins later the charging indicator on the screen popped up. You can def get it to work again just try to get into your bootloader and do a reboot. Just make sure you have the charge plugged in because the first time i encountered this it booted up but turned off and soft bricked again.

Lgnpst is the easiest fix. Can also force it to turn off by holding power, then put in fast boot mode.

Lgnpst worked after about everything that could have gone wrong did and then some what a headache, definitely not worth the root. Anyone wanna buy a lgog? I need a more dev friendly phone

I've had mine die a few times with no problems. At least three instances on zvb and once on EOS. Just my two cents.

I believe what you need next time is to use the sbl unlock in free gee next time. That fixed this issue for me.

I used the that unlock method, I had been rooted with ZERO issues for a month and my phone had died at least 3 times before that, i was really baffled that it bricked, I am back to stock for now, might build the courage to do it all over again, pissed me off though i lost so much stuff. :crying:

i had the same issue, all i did was just plug into the charger let it sit then hit the power button. when the phone shut off it showed the charging icon on the screen. i ended up waiting it out and the device fired up with 2% battery then i put the phone to sleep and charged the rest of the way.

I have this issue every time my phone dies. It doesn't brick.
If I plug the phone in the screen will just light up but won't charge properly. I have to let it charge up enough. Then go into the bootloader and reboot from there. Let it turn on. Then charge it while it is on.
Try it. I'm pretty sure you aren't soft bricked.

What did you do before it happened? Flash twrp?
I was browsing web, then put it on the charger. Happened as soon as I put on charger, have had twrp for at least a month. I have feeling its a hardware issue, because I was able to boot once restore a back up and use again, until it happened again, have been unable to boot since the second occurance.

My old SE X10 did the same.
Turn your phone off. Get the battery out and put the phone and the battery in the fridge (not in the icebox).
Wait 10 min.
Test it again. If the Phone works a few hours (or minutes), so you have certainly a hardware defect.
You can test some "stresstest" apps.

I high moisture environment isn't recommended for a lithium-ion battery that goes into a 350 dollar piece of electronics. If you think its the battery, get a different one. If it's overheating, check the temperature and replace the unit.
Also check the micro-usb connection for debris. This has happened to me several times and its always some kind of crap in the connector. I have gotten it out with compressed air a couple times but once I had to use a toothpick to dislodge something that was particularly stubborn (and apparently conductive!).
You probably have a bad power button. Seen this a lot lately

For testing odin to stock and reroot, see if your problem persists. In the event it does just warranty exchange it. Saves a lot of hassle plus if its hardware they should grant you the warranty without any hassle. On another note if its the battery giving you issue, Ebay has them for sale for a very decent price.

^^^^ +1 I would check into what this guys has just mentioned and I say that because this is not the first thread of its kind that I have seen in here and the results of those threads were the people had a bad power button. May or may not be your issue

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1769183

There were more but I figure if you take some time and read these threads maybe you would find a solution... Got to remember 99% of the problems we have we are usually not the first to have it..
Thanks guys, warranty replacement on the way, don't think its battery because plugged in charger wo batt and it vibrates, I only worry bc if you attempt to boot into recovery twrp flash screen shows for less than a second, I know I voided warranty but has got to be hw issue not caused by me, fingers crossed that samsung aknowledges that!

Same thing was happening to me. I found that i could only get it to boot up when it was connected to my computer via usb and had the battery installed. I was on ICS 4.0.4 and not rooted. As soon as i got it to boot up, i did a factory reset, and everything is working perfect now.

[Q] GS3 won't charge and boot loop...need help fast.

My wife is on vacation driving down to MS (from WV) and her phone died.
She was talking on it and co-pilot was running and then the phone shut off.
She couldn't reboot it, it would boot, then try and reboot and make a vibrate pattern like "beeeeeeppp beep beep" repeatedly and never boot. I told her (on the phone) that it might be that her battery was just dead.
So i had her turn the phone off and then put it on the charger.
Well, it's 10 hours later on a charge and the same thing is happening. She can't boot, she can't get into recovery, when she does the 3 finger salute the same thing happens....the vibration pattern.
She's been running aristodemos without problems up until now.
What do you think could be the problem? Battery? Charging port dead?
She said she's going to find an AT&T store while she's down there and tell them that her phone won't charge...could they charge her battery for her.
What do you think? Should we wait until she's back here and just put my battery in the phone? I ask because I don't want them to figure out that she's rooted and not help her.

Sounds like what happened to my cousin's Note. I tried to root it and it did 3 beeps and boot loop. It might need recovery. If a nandroid is available on her phone then she needs to restore it if possible. If not, recovery via Kies is the next option. Unfortunately, Kies wipes everything.

I don't think so...I'm not sure why but when she tries, nothing happens. I'm coaching her remotely so It could be that she's just not doing it right or that the battery won't even get her to that point....i'm not sure why but at this point, she can't.
If she could...we'd be in good shape, I'd have her wipe the phone and start over.
I'm not sure whether I should tell her to hold off until she gets home to try my battery or go to the ATT store...I'd hate for them to put a new battery in and have it do something that shows that it's running a leaked rom and rooted....though I'm not sure what they'd do.
Would they just tell her to go away or would they note it on the account like we were somehow not entitled to warranty assistance even if we put it back to stock?

They might report it, but when I had a hardbrick on my Atrix, I took it there. They didn't report it. If all else fails, report it lost and get another one. The best way to know is wait for her to get back.

It turns on but tries to boot....black screen and vibrations is all that happens. When that has happened to my phone I just recovered it so I'm not sure why hers isn't recoverable...operator error or it's just bricked.
I guess I'll just tell her to wait until she gets back unless someone has a better idea.

If it turns on even for a second there might be a good chance to save it. Best thing to do is to wait. You can probably recover it using odin. My cousin's Note did that too, but he got lucky. I managed to fix it using Kies. I hope it works out.

So after she hooked it up to the charger...it still didnt' charge fast enough to get enough charge in the phone to enter recovery.
She got to the motel, plugged it in and left it overnight. Rebooted into recovery this morning and did a factory wipe and all is well.
Thanks for the help guys.

Sony ion suddenly wont turn on?

So i go to plug my phone in tonight to find it not on even tho i had not used it all day. I figure something was on in the back and it died. I plug it in and the screen wont turn on neither will the phone. The led is working and is solid red but even after some time the phone will not turn on i have tried the reset keys to no avail.
I am not sure why this is happening as i have not changed ANYTHING on the phone recently or even in awhile in fact its been about the same now even in terms of installed apps for months. Anyone have any ideas?
Try to full charge it. Plug in phone and let it charge through the day or night. Then connect it to Flashtool and flash stock fw. DON'T try to on phone. Just connect it in flash mode and flash stock fw.

Soft Bricked

So, my LGOG is soft-bricked with a dead battery (happened during a twrp backup, although i swear it was at least 60% when i started). I can get to fastboot by holding vol up and power, and then plugging it in (i lgnpst'd teenybin), but when i try to load recovery it shows a black screen that says google and has an unlocked padlock at the bottom for an instant, then dies.
Everyone on IRC has been very helpful, especially autoprime. When i plug it in, the cap button lights and the red led flash. I plugged it the wall in for about 30 minutes, no heat, nothing. So I am just going to leave it unplugged for the night in hopes something will reset or die enough that the battery charges next time i plug it in. Otherwise I will try a battery pull, and go from there.
If anyone has any insight on getting my battery charged via another method, it is certainly welcome and appreciated.

It may have just been my luck, but when this happened to me, I put the phone into download mode by plugging into a USB port while holding volume up and volume down. After that, I unplugged and powered off, then plugged back in to normal ac charger, and it began to charge, as it showed the battery icon. Left it for a bit, then booted it up no problem. Might be worth a try before opening the phone.

Battery pull LGOG worked
Well, battery pull worked! As soon as I flipped that battery bracket back down, the phone powered up and booted fine.
Now here is the interesting part... my phone powered back up and the battery was at 69%. It was not by any means dead. I even left it off the charger for a while to confirm. So, something happened during my TWRP backup that tripped a fault. Could allowing the screen to timeout in TWRP have caused this?
Either way, I want to thank autoprime again for helping me get to this point. My LGOG is back!

Well since I LGNPSTd back when jelly bean leaked and I flashed the update, I have not done anything but root. In fact, I had just installed FreeGee and installed TWRP 2.5 and was doing my first backup. So, something must have gotten corrupt during the backup; possibly because I was on the flashed update vs the OTA, idk...

I just loaded a file on my LGOG then I turned it off. It had 80% battery. Now it wont boot. It wont even go to recovery. I cant get into twrp or do anything. When I power it on the LG logo displays then the screen goes black. I tried powering it back off and waiting a few minutes before trying again but nothing is happening. What should I do? I really don't want to take it back because I can't remember if I still have a warranty and it has been voided anyways. I got the phone i January. I was running CM10.1 and I just loaded a large file into the root of the storage and turned the phone off.

The exact same thing happened to me just the other day. I was flipping. I gave up and decided to go into town to file for a replacement. So I got ready. took a shower and all that fum stuff and as a last resort I tried again. And nothing. So I plugged it in. It finally went to the charge screen. Powered it on from there and it actually turned on!! I was so happy! But when it booted back up it only had 1% charge. But when it ****ed up on me it had at least 50%.. After I charged all the way to 100% then rebooted to recovery it told me it had only 40%.. Something messed up somewhere. Wasn't reading battery stats right.. Wiped battery stats and all was good...
Anyway. Wait awhile for you phone to settle. Then try plugging it in to get a charge. Then turn it on. Worked for me. But was completely random. I tried that several times before my shower and it wouldnt charge when I plugged in. Just went to the black screen after the logo.

I think what's happening is the phone thinks its dead so of course it won't boot past the logo. That's what it actually does when its actually dead. Just flashes the logo. And it stays black because it does actually have a charge. Just had to wait for my phone (while completely off) to try again. But could only get it to come on while on the charger

Should I turn it on and let the battery die out completely or should I let it sit for a couple of hours and try again? I tried charging it but the screen was still black. I tried to plug it into my computer but it didn't detect it. I'll leave it for now and try charging it later. It shouldn't be out of battery since i barely used my phone today.
