Headphone jack - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I got a galaxy note 2 the other day and today I started playing ingress so I plugged my headphones in and it keeps turning my volume all the way down to vibrate! I turn it back up and it keeps doing it till I pull the headphones out.
I'm running CyanogenMod
Thanks!

What is your notifications ring tone set to? Might be the ringtone that actually sounds like static/interference.

Only when the screen is off?

I have the same issue (4.0.3, matri1x 1.5), but only affects sound when the screen is off. Pulling out and then reinserting headphone jack works for me, but would like a permanent fix.

Phone thinks head phones are in when there not

So today the volume stopped workin on the e4gt i gave my son. When i turn it up it says warning listining to loud music could be harmful as if the headphones were in. The phone still rings so i know the speakers not broke. Dose anyone know what this could be?

same thing happened to me, use a q tip to clean out the inside of the headphone jack, if that doesnt work wait a few days and it should go back to normal, thats what it did for me
You tried a battery pull yeah?

Wrong section to post this in. Should be in the Q&A.
I would try battery pull first.

Sound

So ive had my note 2 for a week now and for some reason I randomly have sound problems when playing music or playing movies. The volume suddenly gets stuck on mute. I don't know how it happens but it gets fixed when I restart the phone. Anyone having the same problem

Broken Headphone Jack

So I plugged in my headphones and the right earpiece is not working. I thought that the headphones were broken, then I tried it with my iPod and it works perfectly. I tried restarting the phone, I also checked all settings regarding sound including the sound balance on the accessibility settings but all of them are in correct settings. I tried using 3 different headphones but the output is the same, no sound on right earpiece.
After a day I tried it again. The right earpiece is now working but with uneven sound. The volume is low more like 50% of the volume.
Today the right earpiece is not working again. I tried plugging my phone to my desktop speaker and it's the same, the right speaker volume is so low while the left is working 100% fine. It seems that the right piece volume is so low that you can't hear it on the headphones.
Does the phone pop up a seperate home screen when u plug your headphones in?

Touchscreen issues

I've started noticing when I'm plugged into an outlet and using my fingers, the touchscreen gets really nasty with me. Pressing buttons I haven't touched, no response except from s pen in landscape mode... Anyone else noticed this issue? It only ever happens when it's plugged in. My Atrix used to do this too.
Edit: noticed it started doing this vertical not plugged in. What's going on?

sounds defective...I'd exchange it..
I'm gonna try and do that tomorrow. It's just under the 15 day thing at Best Buy.
