I've UV'd all steps by 100 mV. ASV 1. My cell phone only stays above 800 MHz for a fraction of a second and resets back to 800, from what I can see on SetCPU. I live in a hot country (about 45 degrees Celsius in the afternoon), so that might be the problem.

Did you try -50v at higher clock speed instead? As long as you're not leaving your phone out in the sun then bit should be alright. I live in Dubai and it gets pretty hot here but I don't have this problem; im using Red pill kernel and the setup is default.

Okay, so, simple yes/no question, does UV help decrease overheating or the opposite?

When I'm not rooted and am just stock eco5 it don't get hot at all :\ I'm lost here and could this cause damage?

That's your problem, not all phones can handle scaling from 100mhz minimum, switch it to 200mhz and try it for a few hours.
Ok ill try that. Let you know ina few hours how it works ok thank you

im using Cm7.2 by marciin its good but i have a problem when im surfing via mobile data or playing games my phones heats up to 45 degrees to 50 degrees Celsius, ive done no tweaking to the phone, is the problem coming from the rom itself? or it has to do with my governor? im using "on demand" as its the default on the rom
It is caused by your governor. Try using smartassv2 instead.

use smartassv2
thanks, I changed my governor, and will observed if the heat will drop...

What are proper figures for doing this?
Im sure this is a noob question but I messed with stweaks a bit and my phone has rebooted randomly twice since. Could this be why?
Problem just started and I've been running this problem free jellythunder!

I'm overclocked to 1.8 and undervolted all by -100. I've had it set on boot complete for about a month now and have never had any issues. I'm not saying you won't either but this is what's worked for me.

I envy you. When I set -100 all phone gets stuck and reboots most of the time. when I set -75 still the same. Dirves me crazy.
So I noticed this switch in the submenu of Settings -> Battery
Quad Core Control
It says turning this on can help to extend the battery life, but what does it do exactly?
Also, when I did the tests on Antutu, there were no significant difference between having it on or off.
Anyone knows? Thanks in advance

Quad core control is a built in governor controller that LG decided to let us have. When turned on it pretty much changes the Governor to either "Powersave" or "Interactive." When it's off the Governor is either "Ondemand" or "Performance."
Right. And I am not 100% sure but I thought it also controls on how many cores it uses.

So it is not like the CPU control found on S3/S4/Note2 which undervolts the cpu and save energy that way?
Hmm. Is there a way to undervolt the cpu without rooting?

You can lower it to 1200MHz max. Its SAFE. But our device is already kind of slow. I rather would set max cpu frequency to 1800MHz.
The phone is so hot when I set to 1400. What KSM and purging of assets. Do I need to switch on.

Keep both options OFF. Which governor/scheduler min/max cpu frequency do you use?
I'm using DarkCM with KhaN-Kernel 1.7 - sio/smartass V2 - 384MHz/1804MHz and the phone NEVER becomes hot, except during a benchmark.
If you have ongoing heat problems --> try another rom was an option
Ondemand cfq.hot when i play clash of clan.

Gaming is as benchmark i suppose.
Try sio/smartass V2 or bfq/smartass v2.
CFQ = completely fair queue, means every running app gets the same performance. That really makes no sense for gaming.
You ca also give KhaN-Kernel 1.7 - 362MB Ram a try.
Tq very much for your help.
