Best way to access internal GS3 memory - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Is there any way that I can access the phones inter all memory and transfer music / pictures much faster? When using the USB cable on my computer it takes so much longer to transfer a small file, than when I just take out my SD card and plug it in directly to the computer. Any ideas? Thanks

You can use FX file explorer. You can cut snd paste your files where you want. There is also a root add-on you can download as well.
Hope this helps

Use AirDroid, transfer files between your phone and your PC via your Wifi network. It is fast and simple to use.

Dropbox I have found to be the best for me.
ES file Explorer can access network drivers.
WIFI transfers aren't as fast as via USB though.
I haven't tried accessing my files directly from my PC, only through a HDD hooked up to my awesome router .
Hi mate, im not an expert or anything, but ive tried BROWSIX which does the job for me. Its free frm the market. Hope that helps

WiFi Explorer is the best out there Been using it for months without any issues

ES File Explorer works best for me.
QuickSSHd if you like SSH
With Samba Filesharing you can access your SD-Card on the phone from your windows PC via network share \\ANDROID\SD-Card (for example).
Very easy to use and loads up automatically if Wifi is conncted.
I use it because it's easier to access to phone from a pc than vice versa...
Do any of those applications allow you to play an music or video file from a shared drive? I mean without having to fully transfer the file onto the DHD.

My understanding is that this is an issue that many newer ICS devices no longer have support for "Mass Storage mode" which is what you're referring to when you say "mount." The S3 uses what's called MTP which is music transfer protocol. It IMO sucks by comparison. They changed it for all the "special" people who think that voicing a button to mount a drive is too much work. The best way I've found is to stream it (which is a whole other ball of wax) or to just take out your memory card and put it in a usb micro sd drive. If anyone else knows a way to get mass storage mode (OTHER than using a custom kernel ) please let me know too!

Probably because the s3 uses mtp. It doesn't have the feature to see the phone as regular usb storage

Which one? I tryed two and they were garbage.
I dont like installing and deleting too many things because it slows down your phone like windows.

With DivX plus codec software on a windows 7 pc you can stream it directly. You have to make sure your pc can see the ps3. I had to fiddle around a LOT to do it. My friend did it easily. I don't know why mine was so hard lol. Just MY luck. But my advice is to unload your video on your pc. Then stream it. Converting or encoding mkv takes forever. If you root your device. And install busybox there's a thread here on xda onshore to get back Mass Storage mode. I've been reading it after your post.

[Q] What is the best way to transfer files to a PC without a USB cable?

So I totally mangled my USB prong on my GN (taking the battery out to charge it is a pain!), and I want to transfer my pictures, ringtones, etc off of my phone to my PC. What's the best way to transfer this? I actually used Sweet Home to keep back-ups of my pictures, so that is fine, but there are a few other directories that I want to save. Am I best to use an online site (Box, Drive, etc)? Or is there an easier way to back-up via wifi?
Thanks! (Sorry if this has been answered, but search is down right now.)

try foldersync. great app. also google music is pretty cool.
I do find Google music pretty cool, but I just listen to music for a huge chunk of my day and that active internet connection really kills my battery, also, if I'm not on wifi, or don't have full bars 4g, it seeks to be slow loading songs. Am I doing something wrong?

nah, your right. You can cache music locally. So in google music app you can select songs or albums and select 'keep on device' where it will keep them local and accessible without a inet connection. The thing is then you need to go in and do that for all the stuff you want to listen to which can be a pain if you mostly listen to things offline.
I do use foldersync too which syncs any folders I have defined whenever I connect to my home wifi automagically. I don't need to 'sync' or plug anything in. It just runs and works. That may be better for you. You can specify all kinds of sources to use (ftp, dropbox, drive, windows networking drives, samba, etc).
Wow thanks! Could I do this another way? My main desktop I use I have all my music on, and it can't connect to WiFi, would I just have to plug my phone into my desktop? I apologize I'm a total noob at this haha.

[Q] Any way to connect the note 2 to Linux PC

I am using Opensuse 11.4 for work and wondering if it is possible to connect my note 2 to the PC via cable.
I want to transfer file to and from the phone.
I installed the mtp tools but the PC still cannot recognize the phone.
You have to install gMTP do a search on Google for it. You might have to compile from source depending on what distro your running. Works great for me
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
You could just install the Airdroid app on the phone and transfer files through any browser.
Thats what I do on my Mac for example.
Nice thing about gMTP is that you don't have to worry about slow upload speeds and getting flagged by some savy network admin that watches there local network. Plus it's faster when your transferring large files etc.
