How to disable SMS preview on lock screen ONLY? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Is there a work around on disabling SMS preview on just the lock screen and not the status bar? I don't like it when I get a text and my phone wakes up in the lock screen and you can see the sms text content. When I disable the setting in the SMS app it also disables being able to see the sms content in the status bar drop down. So I have no choice but to enable the preview.

iOS-Like LockScreen Notifications

Is there anyway to get notifications to show up on CM7's lockscreen (like "Text Message: John Doe")? Or how it is now in iOS5, where you can slide to unlock into that app? Please help!
If you have Widget Locker you can set custom unlock sliders that open into a user defined app.

I want something, like the iOS ones :/
You can use Missedit on Widgetlocker, and it will let you know that you have a missed text, call, email or calender event and by pressing on the notification it will open the app.
It can also be hidden so that it only appears when you have missed something.
Just use gosms or handcent and have the notifications turn the screen on

How do you set it up to only show when you missed something??

I have MissedIt! on my phone (running CM7), how do I configure it to show me texts and such?
Not sure with cm7. I think missed it only shows the number of missed. I know certain lockscreens on miu rom will show the actual message.

What script do I need it to run, so it'll atleast show me the notification.
Download SMSpopup.
You're welcome.

Working on this (see goo.gl/JFTyk) as a personal project. So far displays SMS and missed calls accurately. Using Widget Locker to display the transparent widget on the lock screen. Still need to figure how to swipe an individual notification to open into it.
Can I test that out? It's exactly what I need!
Here's the APK of my alpha release (goo.gl/OFE5v). It won't let you open the notification from the lock screen yet. I'll probably get that working over the weekend (swiping does not appear to be possible in widgets, I'm thinking double-tap). I'll probably make some UI tweaks, and add calendar events as well.
My next release will probably be on the Android Market, and for free since it sure as hell hasn't been tested on any phone other than mine.
MIUI has plenty of iphone lockscreen clones.
@mmrussell Thanks alot; let me know when you're going to put it on the Market, I'll look forward to it!
@sjpritch25 I used to use MIUI, but I just prefer CM7.
This would definitely be nice... My guess is we'll have to wait a few months for CyanogenMod to release Android 4.0 and it'll have most of this stuff. I doubt anything as good as iOS5 lock screen will be out sooner.

Text message lock screen widget

Hoe do I refine this widget from the lock screen? Pops up when I get s text but it's horribly implemented it only opens the text half the time and others it just makes the widget bigger.
Also anyone know how to set the lock screen clock to show message information? Seen it on a few screen shots

Textra messaging app

Anyone using Textra app for messaging. If so have you noticed the phone lags either on the Note lock screen of camera app. When you get a message or using the camera app.

No lag at all using textra.
It's been fine for me too.
It seems to happen only when in lock screen or when using camera. Starts to lag. So basically you have camera app open then you get texted at the same time. Same with lockscreen.

Love textra and no lag on my end.
No lag here. Turn off all your transition animations in developer options (tap your build number 7 times in General - About Phone in Settings. Also use a task killer like rechild advanced task killer. Second, if you don't need a lock screen, get rid of it. I don't use lock screens and if I do, I use the patten unlock. I use Nova Prime Launch with Nova Unread Counter. Plus, textra pops up on your homescreen if you want the floaters making the purpose of the lock screen swipe pointless, but hey that's me. I hate two step processes when it can be simplified to one.

Best lockscreen replacement?

Hey guys, I'm looking for a rather particular lockscreen that I just can't seem to find. I'm wondering if anyone on here could help me find a good one. Features I'm looking for:
-some form of security (PIN or pattern)
-SMS notifications at the LEAST (compatible with third party texting apps like Textra). I would prefer to have all notifications available on my lockscreen, but I can live with just SMS.
-Integrated music controls
-Custom screen timeout time
-Elegant looking
So far the closest I've found was ACDisplay, but there's a couple of things I don't like about it. Firstly, having to click a notification to view it defeats its purpose. I want to be able to glance at my phone to see who texted me without having to touch it. Also, every so often I'll get the "swipe down to exit full-screen mode notification." Snaplock came close, but the music integration is sub-par and there lacks custom screen timeout. Anyone have ideas?
try "My Locker"..............................limit is your imagination only

I guess you are on kitkat or below, as the G3's Lollipop lockscreen does feature notifications! As well as optional security (pin, knock code, facial recognition) and looks quite minimalistic. So if you're not on Android L yet, you coukd give it a shot otherwise I recommend the same locker as stated in the previous comment:good:
I don't agree. LG's 5.0 lockscreen is terrible. Notifications might display, but you can't open them when you tap on lockscreen like you do on stock android, but you have to unlock the screen, pushdown notification tray and then click notification (wtf LG?). The second killer of LG's 5.0 lockscreen is that when you put swipe to unlock, sometimes it fails to unlock. Even though I swipe, the screen stays locked and you have to swipe again to unlock. That happens to me in 20% of unlocking screen so I removed lockscreen altogether and now found third party lockscreen which isn't much better, but at least it unlocks when I swipe it.

About notifications....
Actually, coming from Nexus 4 with Lollpop, I was dissapointed to see my new LG G3 having trouble with notifications:
Lockscreen always show notifications, BUT swiping left or right doesn't open the corresponding app (ex. dialer for unanswered calls), NEITHER double clicking on the notification does... INSTEAD I have to click one time the notification and after that swipe the lower part of the lockscreen to unlock and go to the corresponding app... It just feels akward to me... Any solutions?
And something else: sometimes when i swipe down the notification bar, i can see the app name and instead of the message i see: hiden content!!! But this is not all the times... Do you believe i have something wrong on the settings?
Thanks in advance...

Unlocking the phone, right after tapping a notification opens that notification for me. Seems a little odd but I've gotten used to it.
Not using any PIN/Knock/Pattern.

Disable lock screen notifications

Is there a way to disable lock screen notifications for specific apps without disabling notifications entirely for that app?
Sent from my LG-H810 using Tapatalk
Well, you can hide the lock screen notification of sensitive apps. The only issue is that I couldn't find a way to define which apps are sensitive ans which are not.
I disabled all lock screen notifications and use NiLS Lockscreen Notifications. Working great on the stock lock screen, easy to handl and you don't need root.
Setting an app as sensitive doesn't prevent it from showing. It just hides the content but the notification is still there. I was using NiLS prior to Lollipop so I'll go back to using that. Thanks for the response.
