hi guys..
i dont know what caused this problem.. well my device is a little hot, does overheating cause device to reboot? how to prevent my device from overheating? im on jokawildv3 249-1400 mhz, smartassv2, sio. please help guys.
EDIT: Solved
I send my play to sony and they said its not hardware issue, its the gold thing which connect between battery and phone. Sony already fix this and now im happy

Yes, most likely overclocing is reason for rebooting. Is it stable and cool (just worm, not hot) on stock speed?
In worst case, it is maybe battery's fault (which may degraded over time under hot enviroment)

i try everything i can, undervolt, underclock, buy new original battery but it still happen.

Make backup, flash stock rom. If it still happening, then maybe your Play's hardware is dieing...

Yes overheating does cause your device to reboot. The solution is to lower your frequency or overclock.
80% chance it is a dying hardware. Try going back to stock ROM and stay there. Don't install any kernels and overclocking stuff. If reboots still occurs....then sorry bro, time to move on. :crying:

Hey guys when I use the wireless tether does not matter which...my phone will randomly shut off usually 1 or 2 hours of use then shuts off. I have tried undervolting and overvolting, differnt roms and kernals...any suggestions? Thx

What is battery temp when it shuts off. The Wifi tethers usually have the temp up for a reason. If the battery gets to hot it may shut off.
Use the acs syndicate rom. I do and have it pluged in the charger when tethering. I've let it go for over 3 hours and it was fine
Running urban furry and it came with a working version on wifi tether. Not a glitch. See my signature.

hey guys, yea the temp will show 44c in the wifi tether, i am on acs syndicate rom and its causing problems with shutting down. i also have tryed viperrom and supernova... must be my phone i guess idk

That's kind of high for battery temp. Probably is a phone safety feature. Does it do this if plugged into a charger or USB of computer?

Are you Overclocking or undervolting? If so set your max CPU to 800 Mhz while tethering. Remove any undervolting.

If you are getting 1-2 hours of tethered WIFI before it gets too hot you are doing pretty good The only issue I have had since upgrading to the new 1.1.1 is the WIFI tether would cause my battery to get very hot, very quickly(like 15 to 20 mins). I tried all the fixes I could find in various thread but ultimately the one that solved it was Odin back to stock and reflash the ROM. I also got rid of voltage control and went with setCPU alone set @ conservative 200-1300, and its running fast and strong! It still gets hot after an hour or more of tethering but that is very rare when i would ever need to tether that long...lol.
Thanks to all contributors for the killer ROM !

If you are using Voltage control or some other app for this, the default voltages are usually listed and you have the option of reducing it in 25 mV steps. If you have not changed anything then it should be OK.

Default voltages were listed in the Genocide kernel thread. As long as you haven't played with the voltages it probably is default.

Hi does anybody know of a kernal that will enable me to overclock my wildfire to about 800mhz, my wildfire runs smooth at 768 no problem. But i have seen people with wildfires overclocked more than 800mhz. Depending on what rom it may work on i would be more than happy to move to another one. I was using CM9 unofficial but got bored after a while tbh ever since it came out i had it so.... anyways it would be of great help if you could leave a link for download for the kernal(s)
I don't think they're are any atm, and the amount of people that can oc to 800mhz without a problem I think you can count on one hand.
I was like you able to run at 768 on both my wildfires but when I pushed it to 800mhz it was too much. 788mhz was fine but 800mhz and it just froze then rebooted. Also the battery drain was worse at 788 and they're really is no noticeable difference in speed.

overclocking up to 800mhz could be possible for wildfire but i advice you not to do that it's very dangerouse for your CPU and Battery and GPU

Just a little correction: I might be wrong but our Willy has no GPU at all Everything else would be my suggestion, too, but I think OC in general should put up a warning sign - everytime - at least the lifetime of your CPU will be cut even if you try to do it responsible lol

Sry for a maybe stupid question but my Arc S is always very hot, especially when it's charging. I downloaded the Phone Temperature app and it said that my temp is 54 °C and I'm very worried, I hope that my camera lent won't melt becouse it's starting to be very hot.
Hope someone can help me.

Hi! Same issue here...
Could be a solution to downclock the CPU to 1ghz? Someone tried that way?

Of course it would, but that isn't really a solution, it's a workaround with sacrifice of speed.
I highly doubt anything will melt inside the cell phone. They must've tested it and all, I'm sure they noticed it gets hot. Otherwise there's always warranty and stuff
I changed a few things and it work for now, u dont need to undervolt or anything..I downloaded Ram manager Free on google play and then set it on Balance..it a daily use option (u have other options too) so now the cpu is at 1400mhz only when my phone needs that much, and when I do other stuff is at 1000mhz sometimes even lower. It's not slower or anything, it just saves your cpu for when you need it.
Pls hit thanks if I helped!

It's not a stupid question, however it is misplaced.

54 ° is very a high temperature no? in my arc s the max temp is 42-43 ,when playing ,and its 33 ° while it's charging ,without using it off-course
It is due to heavy OC. If you dont want lower your OC value.. there are few steps to keep your phone
normal while charging!!
Dont play games or use heavy aaps while charging.
Switch off WIFI / 3G during charge.
If you just let your device sleep during charge.. it wont heat up!!
The only problem when it get's really hot is when your charging and playing games at the same time, the touchscreen is really very hot.
I had the same on CM9 nightlies. Stock ICS based ROMs don't heat my Anzu.

My arc s only get hot while gaming
I didnt really know how hot is my phone..Just do think of "too hot" after doing a BackUp and then flash a new ROM.
Mine usually gets hotter while using 3g!

Has anyone had their phone reboot mid-call? Mine has done it once a day... for the past weekish.
I'm rooted and am running Perseus alpha 27 kernel... I have a few minor cosmetic mods too like toggles, some CSM edits, but nothing else different.
Could this be caused by the kernel? I'm not sure what to do to troubleshoot this issue... it is hard to reproduce the problem so, I'm not really sure if there's a specific line of events that trigger it. All I'm sure of is that it always happens while in a call.... no other times.
Load a different kernel and test to see if that is it. Have you overclocked or messed with voltages?

Newest version of the kernel with normal voltages and over clocked to 1800 and it happened again. Any suggestions on what to do next?
try not overclocking for starters and bring the phone as baseline as possible to eliminate variables in trying to identify the cause of the problem.
So is it possible? When i mean extreme overclocking i mean something like 1ghz or more. Please reply only if you know something about this.
Thanks

the overclocking is based on kernals... bt 1ghz is not possible with our phone... even the max 824mhz is not recommended cuz you may get freezing and random restart problems...

If you wanna melt your phone, go ahead.
The overclocking depends on custom kernels. If our phone came with a 800MHz processor out of the box, then maybe we could go to 1GHz. But not with this.
