Please help me find the proper RUU - HTC One X

Hi guys,
I have a OneX from a friend and it seems to have a few bugs. I want to get it 100% stock and get all the updates. It runs on stock ROM now, but it was rooted, there were a bunch of crazy apps, a lot of trash, so I want to get it clean.
This is what I managed to find about it:
Code:
CID: HTC__032
HBoot says:
*** UNLOCKED ***
ENDEAVORU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.39.0000

CPU-bootmode: disabled
HW secure boot: enabled
MODEM PATH: OFF
Dec 17 2012, 13:59:37
Recovery: CWM based 6.0.2.7
Settings - About:
Android version 4.1.1
Sense 4+
Software number: 3.14.401.31
HTC SDK API level 4.63
HTCEXtension_Sense45_1
Kernel 3.1.10-g9fb8f80

SMP PREEMPT
Baseband 5.1204.162.29
Buid Number 3.14.401.31 CL128187 release-keys
Browser version Webkit 534.30
I know there are a few small OTA updates after this version, but if I get it to check for updates, it says there's nothing new. There's an update in the downloads dir - seems to ignore it. My guess is the software is messed up, so:
- I want to install the latest available JellyBean RUU
- Run all the available OTA updates
I've looked through htcdev.com/resources and http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/?developer=Endeavor but it's a bit much for me
My only problem is that I don't know how to select the proper RUU for it. Please help with a link or something that can take me to the proper RUU.
I can handle the rest, but I really need your help in selecting the files.
Thank you in advance for any help / hints.
Cheers!

i need your main-version, type
Code:
fastboot getvar version-main

Here it is:
Code:
version-main: 3.14.401.31

All you have to do is download this: http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/sec...Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed.exe
Then relock the bootloader by typing 'fastboot oem lock' in fastboot.
While still in fastboot mode, run the ruu exe by right clicking and selecting 'run as administrator'

Thanks for the help guys, the RUU is installed.
However, I could only find a single, minor OTA update, for the Contacts app [about 1.2MB] and now it says there's nothing else available.
Any idea how recent that RUU is? I remember from my own HOX that there were about 3 or 4 updates after the JB upgrade.

have you tried rebooting the phone?

Yes, of course... No good.

try this
1- Go to Settings > Apps > All
2- Find Google Services Framework.
3- Force Stop.
4- Clear Data.
5- Check again the updates avaiable

I just did it, no change...
"Your phone is up to date..."
All I want is to make sure I get any future updates, nothing more. Otherwise I would've gone with a different ROM... Any other ideas?

no problems mate i'll let you know if i have any other idea

My idea here :
Most HTC 032 cids did get the 3.18 update. But no 3.19 or 3.20 !
They pulled the 3.18 update because of the many WiFi problems that have been reported.
The 3.19 or 3.20 update is not released so that's why you don't get a update now anymore.
You are actually up to date now

Problem finding RUU for 3.20.401.1
I have been looking for an RUU for 3.20.401.1, which I fear doesn't exist and only exists in OTA form.
I'm trying to return to the default HTC ROM and think that I require to do it through a clockworkmod backup, and flashing a boot.img and recovery.img.
The thing is will that 100% restore it back so that when I relock the bootloader it would load up correctly and allow me to recieve future OTA updates?

For give me if am at the wrong thread. Yesterday I received my new HTC ONE. coz I got tired of waiting for the latest OTA on JB. Same goes with the RUU for my HTC ONE S villec2. What happened was I accidentally bricked my phone but one guy here really helped me to a point to at least install the luxandroid rom. its working fine thanks to him.
Now, I just wanted to make sure before I do anything on my ONE in the future. I'd would like to make sure I can revert it back to the way it was before, not just by making a back but preventing the same thing to happen like on my One S.
Is there an Existing RUU for HTC ONE version-main: 3.62.401.1, CID HTC_J15, HBOOT 1.55.0000?
If there is. Can you guys direct me where I can get it. Your reply would be greatly appreciated mates.
Thanks in Advance.

I have it on my PC and just used it to get my phone out of a boot loop. I used an RUU and did an OTA update. Somehow messed up trying to re-root and got stuck in boot loop. Couldnt use the old RUU since I had updated.
Anyway, I have it, but not sure how to host a file that big...any suggestions
EDIT:
I am uploading it to my Dropbox account in the public folder. I guess it will create a download link. It still has 2hours left of upload. My upload speed is pretty crap where I live.

Ok guys ive not posted much as ive had no need to... im fairly competant when it comes to messing with my phone but im baffled now.... Ive rooted desire hd, sensation xl and a few other phones so im not a complete noob i wouldnt say... although you lot may haha
OK, so ive tried to go stock from all of the different nandroid back ups that correspond with my device (because my hard drive crashed and killed all my data,) on this site to no avail. Every single one no matter how i do it, or in what manner, give me the same issue, an md5 checksum mismatch error. Doesn't matter what its called or where its unzipped too, i get the exact same thing every time. Also since starting this process abd no longer works.... The laptop sees the phone and if i try to use fastboot or any of the fastboot commands they work fine. If i do adb devices it shows nothing in the list. I can fastboot boot boot.img and then clear the cash but i just cannot get it to restore the back up at all so i can then flash the recovery after and get it running again.
Im currently in the process of downloading what i believe is the RUU for this phone so we will see if this works.
I need to reset back to factory because i want to sell the phone as a stock unrooted phone to a family member who will want to be able to do ota updates etc. And if it ever breaks or needs sending back it needs to be stock. so........ i was wondering if anyone on here could help me in any way to get my current brick back to a working stock HOX.
CID is H3G_001
version is 2.17.771.3
currently on the lastest CWM
on my fastboot screen ive got

Now is it possible usb debugging may have been turned off thus stopping the adb commands? I cannot get past the boot loop so i am unable to check...
All im trying to do is get back to the stock phone. If anyone is able to help me do that i would gladly show my appreciation....
Kind Regards
Brett (Nibbzy)

[Q] HTC S-ON Upgrade problem

Hello guys,
I need you. I bought a used HTC One X and I can't update it. I tried a lot of stuff on this forum and on other and I'm stuck.
Here's the datail of the model :
Bootloader menu :
Unlocked
ENDEAVORU S-ON
HBOOT 0.95.0000
Radio 2.1204.137D.21
May 8 2012
mid : PJ4610000
cid : none (but if i do a fastboot oem readcid I get VODAP203)
I've got a CWM recovery 5.8.4.0
What I want is just to get the last OTA update witch is OTA_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_Vodafone_FR_2.17.163.4-1.29.163.13_release_280184trtqxlvyzym8i42x.zip if i understood well.
I can't boot anymore on the android system (it goes to the desktop screen and right away it reboots) Thanks to the 'mount usb storage i'm able to mount the SD card in the CMW. When I try to update the OTA file I have error 7. So I modified the updater-script in the zip but now it just say "installation aborted".
The android version is 4.0.3, and the OTA brings the 4.0.4. Anyway, I can't use the system cause It alwyas reboots.
So, how can I have a fresh and clean install ?
Thanks

Here's what I would do. Get the RUU (latest) for your device. I hope you find one (xda search should help out). Then, lock your bootloader, boot into fastboot and then run the RUU. You should be back to stock...do keep a back up of your apps if you need to install them again.
This is probably foolproof way to upgrade your ROM.
Thanks
I tried to search for a RUU for my CID and only find a old one. Older than the version I have now.
I don't think trying to flash with an older version work right ?
I'll try anyway...
Here's the only RUU I found :
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_Vodafone_FR_1.26.163.2_Radio_1.1204.90.13_release_251225_signed.exe
The other option would be to ask in this thread, maybe someone would have a nandroid backup they could throw you, although i couldn't see one for your CID on the list, this is however subject to change, worth an ask

Need help to update my HOX

hi! Sorry if this been asked before, but hey not all cases are the same .. and basically I need help with the following, I'm no noob in Android but a little in regard to HOX, since I come from a galaxy nexus and with that phone I had no problem to install roms rooting etc. .. but with this I find something more complicated, because I see that people talks about of CID and things like that.
Somehow I need help with this: i know that the 4.2.2 update already come out for the HOX in Europe .. but I'm from Venezuela, and I doubt i will get the update for my phone, so I decided to flash an ota that roam the Internet or here on XDA.. so, first i see that you need to have certain CID for flashing the rom, and i don't think my CID is correct, because it is BSTAR301, at least that says an app that i downloaded from the play store, but if you know other way to know the CID that is more accurate tell me and i do that and then tell you, but if this BSTAR301 is really my CID then fine.. I see that the phone has to be 3.20.401.1 but my phone has a similar number: 3.14.518.34, i dont know if for the same thing but i dont see anywhere on my phone this one 3.20.401.1.. that's it for that part, then I know I have to unlock the bootloader, and install a custom recovery, I have no problem with those two but my question is, what should I do now? I really want to install that update! Below are my data that shows my HOX, and is for you to tell me whether I can install the update via recovery or not, or what should i do.
Android version: 4.1.1
Sign HTC Version: 4 +
Software Version: 3.14.518.34 710RD
HTC level SDK api: 4.63
HTC extention Version: htcextension_sense_45_1
Kernel Version: 3.1.10
Baseband version: 5.1204.162.29
Number of compilation: 3.14.518.34
I think that would be all you would need .. oh and of course, the phones is 100% stock.
Last thing, is somehow i can install the update, is there anyway that i dont have to lose my configuration and everything? like a real ota update you know? I mean I dont need to make a full wipe right? Since I do not want to lose all my settings but I want to make as if he really was updated via ota.
Well now, sorry for the speech but was the only way to explain what I need hope you can help me

Bootloader (power + vol. down) will tell you what HBoot version you have.
I'm not sure what HBoot came with the 3.14.518.34 software but if it is 1.39 you can install a custom 4.2.2 Sense 5 ROM. I believe that is the lowest HBoot version that supports 4.2.2 Sense 5.
Otherwise, it is simply a case of, you will have to wait for an official OTA update on your CID, if you ever get it.
If you CAN install a custom ROM, if your HBoot version is high enough, you WILL have to full wipe.

There is an app in the Play Store called CID Getter, it will confirm your CID for you.
To the best of my knowledge, for that CID and/or software number, there is NO upgrade path to 4.18.401.2 that does not involve a custom ROM.

that's the app i used before to get my CID, and as i say i get BSTAR301 i don't know why is so different from other HOX that says HTC_001 and thing like that.
i want to update my HOX but i don't want a custom rom :'( why is had to be so hard for me ¬¬
oh and i never tell you before, but mine is a tegra 3!
As @Tigerlight has already mentioned you cannot get stock 4.2.2 sense 5 for your cid, the only option you have is a custom Rom. I am using maximus 2.1.0.0, it is based on official 4.2.2 release but has extra features and is as close as you can get to stock. Everything works as it should. There are also other Rom's which will work on your handset like bugx or arhd and many others, all of which are built on the same official 4.2.2 base.
Now go get the cakes
Well, i guess i dont hace another choice! But i will use the most perfect rom and the most bugless because i dont want to be jumping from one rom to another! Thanks for all your replays, you've been very helpful to me

You cannot 'bypass' CID as such. There has to be a compatible HBoot available for your CID. He has a compatible HBoot version.
But he does NOT want to flash anything. He wants STOCK. No custom recovery, no custom ROM.

my question is, can my HOX be s-off? unlocking the bootloader doesn't have to do anything with that right? but if i can get my one x s-off, and get SuperCID, then can i flash any stock 4.2.2? or maybe an ota will come out by itself?
i've been searching this, becase the more i think about it, i really dont want to flash a custom rom on my phone..i dont have any problem of rooting my phone, or flashing a custom recovery, but what i really want is keep it stock for now.
Nope we can't s-off it. And if you decide to flash another rom....do NOT forget to create a stock nandroid backup of your existing rom. You will need it because your cid and main number are pretty rare on the internet !!! So please be careful with that !!!
The unbranded backups are easy to get here on xda ..... yours don't !
well one last thing then, i don't know how to say this but, can a phone, in this cases the one x that is been sold by an operator (in my case movistar) be free from that operator? i mean, i know by now that i order to get an ota update from the operator that sells the one x on my country (movistar) its that they release an update right..but the thing is, that i sim-unlock my hox, so i don't have anything to do with then anymore (because im using another operator) does that mean that the phone still need to get the update from them even if dont using their services anymore? like i say, i simunlock my phone..how can i make my hox like i bought it unlocked from the beginning with no carrier attached, because i know that the unlocked one are getting the update, the ones from and operator (like at&t, etc) still need to wait for them to update..you understand? because i dont know if im explain myself xD
Yes your phone still needs to get updates from them because cid and main version can't be changed on the phone.

[Q] HTC ONE X relock bootloader install OTA Update

hi
guys let me introduce myself first
My name is Russ im from the philippines
my first phone was iphone 4s then Lumia (which i somewhat regret) now i have swapped it for an HTC ONE X
Now my problem is, an OTA update popped out of my screen and i have already downloaded it
my phone restarted then " team win recovery project " started.
I have no idea what im supposed to do but i clicked install anyways
Which gave me an error "error file zip extraction" or something similar to that
So i just did a reboot
After that i checked if my phone is rooted using Root Checker
I got a message that says " Sorry! this device does not have a proper root access " which i assumed that my phone is actually not rooted.
Now the real question is, What is the problem? why cant i install OTA Update
Im a " Noob " when it comes to this kind of stuffs so please no Acronyms!
Thanks guys!
EDIT (Additional informations)
i checked if this phone has a custom rom installed (as i googled stuffs about android)
Settings > About>Software Information
Android Version 4.0.4
HTC sense 4.1
Software number 2.17.707.3
So i assume i have a stock rom?
another one is i hold volume down+power button

You guys might see as another person who just asks for help without researching. .
Actually, i did "tried" to search for solution, its just that, i dont know What to actually search for
I am lost and i dont know the right direction. Maybe people here can help me.
I thank you in advance!
EDIT: Just found out what CID is for
MY Phone's CID is HTC_044
ro.carrier is: HTC - Asia-SEA-WWE
EDIT:
I have a feeling that my rom is actually in its "stock" form and doesnt need flashing
what my real problem re-locking the bootloader and removing "Team win recovery project"
Please do correct if what i think is actually wrong, thank you!
Main objective : To have Stock Rom so i can update to HTC Sense 5 with its features ( i dont want custom rom . . )
My HTC One X Cant be detected by fastboot, HTC Sync is installed . .

also download htc sync manager for htc drivers. if you dont want htc sync manager you can uninstall it and you will still have the drivers installed. yes, phone's bootloader must be relocked before you run the RUU.

HTC One M8 - Modified version of System Software, Cant update to Marshmallow

Hello,
I brought the phone this February and its working fine. It is running on Kitkat-4.4.2. Then when I searched for software update it shows an update available: 1.54.709.12 (233 MB). But when I download it and try to install, it says "We have determined that your phone may be running a modified version of its system software. For your protection, we cannot update your phone. Please revert your phone to the official HTC system software to update your phone. If you did not modify your system software or would like help reverting your system, please contact us via the support section at www . htc . com"
I saw the bootloader and its locked and cheked if its rooted using rootchecker and its not.
I would prefer not to root my mobile.
I want to update to marshmallow and I am unable to do it
Following are some details:

Please help.......and thank you in advance.
That's usually means the MID is wrong for the software region that you have.
As yours is a S-Off device, I would say it is easy to fix it.
First thing .. we need to know what the MID is. Run this command - fastboot getvar mid
If you need the driver & tools for this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926362&postcount=4

Thank you very much for such quick reply.
I ran the command and it gave me

I am from India and I want to get OTA updates in future.
Your MID is a EU MID
You can change it to India MID if you want to but it's a bit complicated for you I guess as it will involve change of MID, you may need to unlock bootloader & etc but it's not difficult.
Anyway .. for a start, make it totally EU version by flashing a Marshmallow EU RUU .. you don't need to unlock bootloader and you don't need to change MID. You will still can receive OTA if there is one but I think there will be no more OTA updates as M8 is already on its EOL (means no more HTC further support)
What you need to do :
option 1 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6
option 2 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66271711&postcount=4
either one should be fine for your device.

I don't think there will be issue as we notice most custom ROMs are based on EU ROM and many users from India are using them.

I'd recommend updating all the firmware (which in addition to hboot also includes radio, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a lot of other important modules) not just hboot. Being on hboot 3.16 means all your firmware is outdated, as in 2 years old. Updating to current firmware is best for compatibility with current ROMs.
You can either update by RUU (as discussed above) if available for your version. Or return to stock ROM and recovery, and update OTA (which will update the firmware). But we'd need to know more specifics about your device, to give more detailed direction. Do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).
I have the same problem with my htc m9. I cannot do these processes as I am not a professional and don't have a computer .I have a doubt ,If it is the problem with region ,Why can't we simply changes the region by turbo VPN and try to update the Android version

You can't do that, since for HTC devices the region has little or nothing to do with spoofing where your phone is located (with VPN, etc.). The model ID (MID) and carrier ID (CID) are encoded into the phone. You typically can't change this on HTC devices, unless you have s-off. But further advice would be specific to the M9, and you should either search or post the M9 device forum. Following advice for a different device (this is for M8) is dangerous and can damage your phone!
