Enhanced236 is 1. The most bugfree ROM. 2. Good performance (Tweaks makes it even better!). 3. Good battery life (Tweaks makes it even better!).
Note that this ROM is based on stock 2.3.6, so it doesn't have all the features that 4.1.2 have.
thanks for suggestion. i installed jelly bread 3.5, it is nice for me now.

Guys,
I was about to upgrade my Arc (rooted, .42 FW) to ICS 4.0.4 as it sounds so lucrative, but I am very much discouraged after reading the pros & cons by users on the Sonymobile Blog. http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/35431
Some definite cons i read are:
1. Laggy UI
2. Deteriorated camera experience
3. heating of device
4. fast battery drain
5. no update in music player
6. bad sound quality
7. HD games lagging and crashing
8. tonnes of bloatware
if its just for the user interface, i have a similar UI on arc which is the Xperia S Home apk from the BIG MOD Pack...
Please post your reviews on the new 4.0.4 ICS update
EDIT: with new ICS UPDATE, I Meant the STOCK 4.0.4 ICS Update recently released by Sony for Xperia 2011 devices, custom ICS ROMs are obviously very good as they come with tweaks applied.
I'm using stock rom. Deodex n' disable HW patch. Smartassv2/Deadline. Remove no need softwares.
After a few days, I really happy with this update. No UI lagged, my phone can handle Poweramp and some game like Baseball Superstars 2012, Fantasy Defense, Epic Defense.
I don't play any game of gameloft, so i don't know if it work or not.
Battery is 0.6% per hour idle. ~30% per hour when gaming.
Cons: Chrome stop working due HW disable
ICS is just better. I'm using JJ Rom and just loved it better than stock.
I'm not returning to ginger any more. Adjusting right kernel and rom is needed to be satisfied.
I use 4.0.4 and love it no lag really smooth. Kernel is xarc removed bloatware, installed smooth scrolling patch OC the processer really good bettery life. I'm finaly happy with ICS !!
It is ok, nothing brilliant. I was not that happy with so I tried the mokee OS rom, and wow that rom is just simply brilliant! But it is only android version 2.3.7.
Hi.I like listening to music ,playing HD games ,reading, who can give me some advice ? what rom should I use ? to be used long battery and good wifi. thx

Best ROM
If you don't care about graphical user interface ,defintely JJ hybrid rom is great (fast - compatible with games - has ROM control as well) ,few bugs though like wifi hotspot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1537717
If you care about having nice user interface with reasonable game performance you can try Jelly sandwich http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836993 or the Remix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1884958
Regards,
I have a problem with both games installed, I need to install chainfire3d so that NFS MW would work (black screen problem), but when I install chainfire3d, TDKR shows graphical problems, I tried messing with the per-app setting but still no progress
What should I to so I can keep both games without switching chainfire3d on and off? thanks in advance
In case you need my device's details:
R800i
ROM: NXT 1.3 LE
Kernel: DooMKernel

You are using a very good gaming rom and one of the best kernels out there. I dont think there is a need for chainfire. When you enable chainfire it tries to reduce the graphics for better performance but in TDKR it will only mess it up.
I dont really know what the problem is. Have you tried overclocking??
I use chainfire so that I can play NFS most wanted, I'm getting the black screen problem (only UI and taillights are visible) if I don't use chainfire with the powerVR plugin
Solution? Use de-bloated stock ROM. Nuff said.

Excuse me, is there a MORE debloated stock rom than NXT LE???
I admire the talents of our devs but I just don't trust custom ROMs. Debloated as they may be, devs usually add features that are not to my liking. If you ask TLRTheory, he'll tell you the same... That the best ROM is stock ROM. My point here is that to be able to properly play games without having to add mods and tweaks time and again is to play using a stock ROM debloated to the brim so as to boost performance.

As much as I respect tlrtheory an like his viedeos on YouTube I would have to disagree with you both nxt le is the fastest rom I've ever used more so than a debloated stock
But tbh it does all come down to personal opinion
And the joy of of being able to tweak stuff to get Better performance and even messing up really bad and having to start over again is good learning but again everything comes down to opinion and preference

Can anyone please name the advantages of CM9 installed on our phone?
Currently i use Bagux 1.4 and I've noticed these pros against cm9:
Better battery,
No connectivity problems,
Camera works faster..
CM9 r5
I bought my Galaxy W has 8 days and I am already using the CM9, not sorry ...
Advantages:
1- It is ICS so it has more features and options. CM gives even more customizations to Android
2- It looks way better than stock GB
3- There are many custom kernels!
4- It has more attention from the devs, GB has WAY less attentions now.......
5- The theme option in setting, this means that you can change the colours of the rom just by installing an app
6- You will be upgrading to a rom that has been made by Sir Arco..........Enough said!
Disadvantages:
No FMradio
CM9!
arco68 is very good at it ... CM9 makes! The samsung is so ***** that left us in 2.3.6, but for that there XDA developers! : D: D
Excuse my English, I'm Brazilian.

You can download Spirit Light, it's a FMRadio and it works greater than the original one for what I saw till now.. =)
i would say if you've used stock GB for a long time like me, you will find stock GB's interface to be more simple haha. But learning a new interface is never too hard so this is not much of a pro.
some even speculated that GB roms uses less battery than ICS/JB roms since well u know... GB has not much to offer xD! But I believe with more and more kernels developed within the ICS/JB frameworks, GB will also lose in the battery department.
So in conclusion, GB is outdated and should only be kept for preference purposes. (right now, I'm too lazy to migrate due to all the customization I have to redo and the ICS/JB rom still not finalized yet, yes I'm unreasonably demanding lol)
I've tried a lot of roms. Thought i will stick with CM9, but after experiencing wifi, data problems, battery drain, I've came back to GB Bagux rom, which runs smoothly for me and has no bugs or problems. I always change the interface with custom launchers, so looks of GB isnt an issue, since there is themes for its framework too. I think its better to have more free memory, than to run on the Edge of memory shortage like on CM9. And battery is definately better for example 1d16h on battery and 66% left. (didnt use phone much but still on cm9 it was 2-3% while deepsleep)
We can talk all day bout this topic. But in my opinion it really depends on what type of user you are.
In my case, i use camera a lot at work, i also use fm radio, and plays a lot of 3d games.
It's a mix feeling when you try those different roms. When i flashed CM10 i thought i was never gonna go back to GB.
JB brings new stuff, buttery smooth as they say, and it's the latest Android. But there are still bugs in the camera, and battery life isn't that good yet compared to GB. After using it for more than a month, i decided to try the latest GB update (2.3.6 dated December 2012).
I think i'm gonna stick with GB for the moment. Not until battery life is improved and those glitches in the camera are fixed.
To compensate the feeling of being outdated, i tried different launchers. I mean really different, like launcher 8 which totally mimics the windows phone interface. Looks can be easily achieved whether you are in GB or JB as there are plenty of launchers and customizations out there.
When it comes to performance, i managed to get the best of my current GB rom by carefully managing start ups and disabling apps which i do not really use. It plays all the 3d games i have with no lag at all. I do not overclock my phone, coz it will just eat up more battery.
Overall, i think my current setup is better and just what i need for daily use. It's quick, no bugs, reliable, and the battery can last 2 days with minimal use. So I'm satisfied and happy with it. For now..
Do High Def games work faster on Ginger Bread or CM9? I'm thinking of flashing F.A.W stock ROM... For the sake of gaming...
From my Wonder, trying to PORT Sense to this device!
1/10 Done.
Gamin'TheWonder CM10 ROM comin' soon...

if you want to try gb for gaming install the latest euro update XXLMI (december 2012). i think it performs better.
install "autostarts" from market and disable auto starting apps to save memory.
u may want to freeze system apps you don't use also with link2sd. this is what i did basically, without any other tweaks and i'm happy with the result.
same here ,,, im a big fan of link2sd apps,, i used to link all my apps to my 32gb class 10 mmc,,, so that my phone memory never gets full,, whenever new game comes,,,,

As the title says, i don't use this phone for gaming, i'm searching for a stable, smooth rom that allows a windowsphonish kind of experience...with a tab bit more of a battery endurance, if possible.
I love cm10.1 so i'd like to hear what kernek and tweak should i use for this purpose or, if you think cm9 would be better for this, let me know.
Thanks and sorry for my english
In the meantime i'm gonna try ehndroix rom
