Having trouble rooting (updated to 4.1.1) - HTC One X

Noob Alert
Hi, I Just picked up the HTC One X earlier last month and decided that I wouldn't root until I realized that there's certain apps I use that won't run without root (sixaxis controller for example) so after I had already updated to 4.1.1, I figured that I'd enable USB debugging and so that I could receive root access using Hasoon 2000's simple all in one toolkit, however I can't get the xFactor root exploit that changes your CID working..
I'll get prompted to restore first backup, which doesn't work (starts, then ends immediately), it automatically tries a second time, then sends me to the bootloader. I then get prompted to check my CID before I proceed, and it still hasn't changed from my original 'Rogers01" CID to the 1111-sequence of numbers. I have the latest HTC drivers installed for my One X..
Anyone have a clue on what's going on here? Could this be happening because I updated?

You have an evita or a endeavoru ?
Dual-core of quad-core phone ?

I have the Dual core for sure, I think that's the evita?

Ah yes, then you are in the wrong forum. Don't flash anything from this forum !

[Q] HTC One X won't turn on

i tried to install new ROM. It couldn't make a new tmp/update_binary to I rebooted to Fastboot
Now my phone won't turn on, no LEDs come on.
HOWEVER, when plugged into my computer, the computer recognizes that something's been plugged in (with that du-doo) noise, but then quickly makes the (da-da-da) noise to inform me that the USB device isn't working.
Where do I go from here. I've searched for hours on this issue...
Let's get the stupid questions out of the way first: did you try to boot to bootloader? (hold voldown and power 15sec)
Can you see the device in windows device manager? Any info there?
Sent from my HTC One X
Thanks for response,
It has not booted into the bootloader. And still won't
Dev Manager gives me a Code 10 for the device (device won't start)
I got another Code 28 (wrong drivers) for some device called QHSUSB_DLOAD, but that might be something else.
Are you sure you have the international tegra 3 one x?
It seems it is stuck in QHUSB_DLOAD-mode which is a qualcomm specific mode.
It seems your phone is bricked pretty hard, but I'll try to solve this.
Sent from my HTC One X
I have the AT&T, qualcomm HOX. NOT the Tegra 3 model. For sure.
Doh...
I FOR SURE have the AT&T HOX, NOT the Tegra 3..... Geesh
I've got to these forums thousands and thousands of times...
I can't believe that i clicked the wrong forums ONE time... and this consequence is pretty large.
I appreciate your willingness to help...
What rom were you flashing?
It may have been a international one x rom and that's why it's bricked.
Sent from my HTC One X
It WAS an international ROM... i'm sure of it. // Still can't believe I made that mistake.
So where do i go from here?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1966850
I guess it's not completely dead since Device Manager recognizes it
Though, It seems that the only way out is to find a computer and natively install Ubuntu
I see you shifted to the correct forum.
Best of luck for you. Hope you manage to unbrick.

[Q] Issues rooting

All,
I have just bought a 'new to me' Rogers HTC One X. It already had JB 4.1.1 installed.
I managed to unlock the bootloader via htcdev without issue and managed to flash TWRP 2.3.3 installed via Hasoon2000's tool however it is unusable because the touchscreen doesn't work within it. Is there a work around for this?
I also cannot root the device through the various one-click approaches listed here.
Any help you can offer on rooting it and getting a recovery manager working would be appreciated.
If you need any details from me (various version numbers, etc.) please let me know. I've been out of the Android world for a while so you may need to tell me where to look.
Cheers!
Can you please confirm that you have the international tegra 3 quadcore One X codenamed EndeavorU?
Does it say endeavoru in the bootloader screen?

[Q] Phone is totally dead 100%

Ok, I followed all the details from the videos on onexroot's website .
1. I used the videos found on one x root's website to root my AT&T One X.
2. I also used his videos to install a rom. Sorry I tried posted the youtube links so you could see exactly what I did but these forums will not allow me to post links yet. GRRRRRR (but I understand why.)
3. This is the rom that I used I used a rom off the one x root site as well. (click on One X rom and scroll down to the second one. IceColdJelly AOKP Android 4.2.1 ROM for HTC One X!)
4.I placed the rom in its own directory on my phone "ROMs"
Everything went fine through the whole process. I created a back up, checked to make sure the back up was there .. it was. I did a wipe, and installed the new rom. I press the reboot and then it was dead.
The phone is black.
I have pressed the power button for all periods of time. Power + volume -, Power + Volume+.
When i connect the phone to my pc via usb, I can not see it.
I have charged it for 45 mins now .. nothing.
Tired fastboot reboot bootloader, and got "deviced not found"
I downloaded HTC Sync and the RUU from their site. When I run RUU it says it can not find a connect device.
Am I Screwed here. I really think that I have done a much as I could find online before posting in here like a noob (which I am.)
Thanks in advance for the help
Cory
Dont think the international versions of our ROMS will work on an AT&T Variant, you should probably try to flash an AT&T Rom.
Hope you get sorted :good:

Well the info is :
There is a AT&T dual-core (codename evita) hox.....also called HTC One XL and there is a tegra 3 HTC One X (codename endeavoru) quad-core hox .....also known as the international HTC One X !
Now to the problem :
What happens when you connect the phone to the pc ? Does it show up anywhere in the device manager (as a one x, my htc, or even APX) ?

Awesome, Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. When I go to device manager with the usb connected, I do not see the phone at all. Before I started this, I was able to.. When I plug the USB in, I do hear the windows "dong" sound, strange thing though, when I unplug it, I heard a double "dong sound." All and any help is very very appreciated.
Have you read the IceColdJelly thread? It says:

update cm10 to cm10.1 help

i was going to update my one x (ATT) from cm10 to 10.1 but i didn't want to wipe the device and flash the boot.img and go through the hassle of resetting up the phone for jellybean 4.2
however i just got a notice on my phone that cm10.1 is available and do i want to download.
if i do this, will he phone auto update or is it just downloading the latest zip and i still need to manually do it all myself.
If you have the EVITA dual-core hox you better place this in the right forum. The at&t, rogers, HTC one XL forum

sorry, im new here, i can never figure out where to place this stuff, i can't post in half the forums yet.
if someone would gladly move it...
If you have EVITA in the top of the bootloader you need to go to the other forum. This is for the ENDEAVOURU quad-core phone. If you flash stuff from here you might end up bricked. And we don't want that to happen
But my guess is you need to re install the CM10.1 from scratch and flash the boot.img from it.
Edit : removed useless info thanks to X-master
Hope this helps
i thought if he have evita he doesn't have hboot like we have because of other chipset? ...or are they still at 1.12 not like we already on 1.39?
Ow yeah...they have other hboots, see im so concentrated on the hox international

[Q] Clockworkmod restore and now boot loop (?)

I recently took a backup in clockworkmod, as I installed a new ROM.
Now I want to go back, as that ROM was bad, and I like the old one better.
I then went to Clockworkmod, then restore the old backup and rebooted. It was stuck at booting, and wouldn't do anything.
I then cleared cache, wiped data and factory settings and restored the backup again.
Same issues.
I then cleared cache and rebooted again... Same issue
Anyone know what I did wrong? I would like to know what to do...
Thanks in advance!
Can you please post your hboot details?

One X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Why is this the wrong forum?
AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL
Trust me. This is not the right forum for you, the title is a bit confusing because at&t and Rogers market this phone as the One X, but it's actually the One XL. You need to use the device search window at the top of the page to find your forum.

So what's the difference between my HTC One X and this forum's HTC One X?
Your phone has the quad core tegra CPU. This forum's phone has a dual core qualcomm CPU and LTE. Software, hardware, and partitions are not the same and therefore not compatible. Plus, nobody on this forum has any experience with your device so we can't offer any guidance.
Your phone: HTC One X (codename Endeavor)
My phone: HTC One XL (codename Evita)
This may seem confusing but this forum is strictly for the One XL. It only says One X in the title because some carriers stupidly marketed this device as the One X, it causes a bit of confusion.
I've asked for this thread to be moved to the appropriate device forum so the people there can help you out.
Also, my advice to you is to find your device's forum, bookmark it, and stay in it. If you flash any software found on this forum you could brick your phone.

Well that be damned... My phone wasn't even indexed, so when I did CTRL+F and looked for One X, this was the only forum I could find.
Oh well... I'll send the phone in for repair (after I've installed stock ROM and un-rooted it).. We'll see if I get a new phone, as the WiFi card has a faulty connector, and only provides half WiFi signal.
So either I'll get a new One X, or a new One (I hope I'll get a One instead).
Take care, and thanks

It is indexed where it should be, you're supposed to use the device search box to find your device and make sure you're getting stuff from the right place. Searching and getting software etc from the wrong spot is a sure fire way to damage your device.

Moved to the international One X forum.
In CWM you have boot.img in backup folder are you flash via fastboot with fastboot flash boot boot.img
Thanks for moving this. I've decided to revert to stock, as I need it repaired anyway.
I will keep this here, so I can go back and use it whenever I receive it back.
